Placenta location?

Okay, so I've tried to look it up on the internet, but I guess I'm a bit stupid, since I really don't understand. Apparently, the location of the placenta could say something about the sex of the baby. When I had my ultrasound a couple of days ago, the technician told me the placenta was totally on the left, and in the front of my uterus. So what does this say? Also, she was talking about my point of view, so if you were standing before me, the placenta would be on the right for you, but left for me. Does this make any sense??? I'm just so curious..Worried

If the placenta is on your left according to Dr Ramzi's theory, then this gives a 97.5% chance of the baby being a girl.   My placenta is anterior left and it's a girl.

Good Luck!

If he was sure about location then I'd say you are MOST LIKELY having yourself a baby GIRL!!! Esp if he was so sure! :)

And does it make a difference as to if the placenta is in front or in the back? And what are your experiences with this? Is it correct most of the time or just another old wives tale? Also, it was correct with my firstborn, it was a boy and the placenta was located on the right. Happy Smile

LOL, not an old wives tale! It is VERY scientific. You can read the original paper by Ramzi himself. It is a bit long and sometimes complicated to get through, but well worth the read!!!

I have to say I have more faith in a scan! My placenta is on the right at the back this time and 2 scans have confirmed 99.9% its a girl which goes against this theory but I have seen the proof in the scans!

Hereby a scan of about 12 weeks... what do you think? At the last ultrasound (about 18 weeks) the technician said the placenta was all on the left, also 'drawing' a picture on my 'belly'... So it's definitely on the left now.

I only know the placenta locations of my last two pregnancies which were both girls.  One was all in the front and the other was on the lower right side so I guess that goes against the theroy as well.  I wish I knew for the other 4!!

I've heard of this before but never tested it.  Interesting to see if it's true for my twins.  Baby A's in on the right and Baby B's is on the left.  Very cute to see, BTW!

I don't know about left or right because my placenta was always on the middle. I know that with my boys it was posterior though and it is anterior this time and I'm having a girl now.
