We don't qualify anymore, but with the boys we did and I used it some...especially once they were both put on special formula that cost a ton.

No, but I do qualify. I had been signed up at one point, because I needed help getting a pump. Unfortunately, they wouldn't give me one because I wasn't a working mom.

That seems so wrong.  I don't understand that one at all.  Just because you are a SAHM, that doesn't mean you would always be with the baby anyways...?  That makes me mad.

that makes me mad too... because they would spend hundreds of dollars on formula... but they won't pay for a pump.  That's not right.

I know, but I understood their reasons. They only have so many to go around, and the woman explained that if a working mom came in that 'really needed' a pump... they wanted to make sure they had one. She told me I could come back in a few months and if there were extra then I could have one. That was nice of her, but unfortunately, there was no way I could go that long. I ended up finding a free rental from a woman that runs a breastfeeding program, so it all worked out.

We qualify, but we're not using it since I breastfeed and we are dairy-free (WIC mostly gives milk and formula).  For those in need of a pump, have your child's ped write an RX.  It may be covered by his/her insurance.

I was just curious. I think their income level is (can't think of the word) but most people do qualify. We recieve WIC, but i only use it for the formula.
