You ever notice how most replies about your baby the answer is 9 out of 10 times "ask your pediatrician"? (No here on IG, but when you do a search online) Just thought that was a little odd. Thanks for the reply D_J_M. Unfortunately that site was one that I did read before but it didn't explain WHY the milk does that. So strange that no one seems to know the actual cause of the lipase being excessive. Hmmmm..... anyone a scientist on here haha!

Turns out I have excess lipase and have to scald BM right after pumping.
It was fine until almost 2 weeks ago, then one morning DH said it tasted like soap! (No he wasn't drinking it with his coffee, haha, but he puts it on his lips when he makes a bottle) I tasted it the next day and it was HORRIBLE [yuck]. I had to throw out around 30 oz of frozen, it made me so mad! All that pumping and saving...

I picked once every 2 weeks but sometimes it's more often if the dogs are on the bed cuz I can't stand their hair getting in my mouth when I'm sleeping or that oh-so-fresh doggie smell that lingers....[rofl]

Yeah, I thought that was strange. I guess since she got 24 hrs of nursing he thought that was enough. But I'm still nursing for a 5 minutes before I give her formula each time. Hope that's not bad!!!!
