Re: Needing a pep talk please-- deciding to do PGD

Best thing we ever did. We ended up having 2 more instead of just 1! Family is complete. Do it!

Tell me again...

Why in the hell I am putting myself through this?? I want to keep going but I am 2 weeks in and it still kills me everytime I put him on. I know he is not latching well. His bottom lip is sucked in and I can't get it out. I use the shield sometimes just to help with the pain but he fights me so much because he doesn't like it. This pain is worse than any I have ever felt with c-section. Some...

Re: After Delivery

Zombie--yeah that pretty much sums it up perfectly. BF--is sucking for me also. We are over 2 weeks in already. I am very determined but it is killing me. I have felt more pain in my nips than I have in my incision area. I am trying to power through it. I want to quit every time I latch him on. I scream profanities! I know he is not latching right and I can't fix it. He falls asleep like a p...

Re: Are you dialated or effaced??

I am due jan 4 but having a repeat c-section 12-29. She did check me last week and said I was dialated 1. My blood pressure has been high the last 2 days so afraid she will have to take him early. I am doing a 24 hr urine collection today. If it comes back bad she said she will take him on Friday. I don't want his b-day to be on Christmas Eve YUCK!!To induce--everyone and everything has told...

Re: Organic Mother's Milk Herbal Tea

Thanks, Decemberbaby. I am hoping it all works out. No they aren't using demerol. The dr told me what the drug was but I can't remember...some time release type of morphine. I got really sick last time from what ever they gave me for pain last time so I couldn't really hold him right away. Hoepfully this time I can put him straight to the breast much sooner. Thanks for the encouragement. I a...

Re: Really Struggling!!!

All I can suggest is Prilosec (omeprazole). When my Dr put me on that it was instant relief. You can get it OTC at Walmart. I buy the generic. 20 mg. It is amazing. If I skip it for a day or two on accident I start to breathe fire again. Take a pill and by that night it is gone. With everything else...I am sorry. you make me feel like I am going pretty damn well and have nothing to comp...

Re: Organic Mother's Milk Herbal Tea

Can you drink this a few days before delivery (scheduled c-section)? I had low supply the last 3 times and gave up. I REALLY want to make it work this time. I bought fenugreek too but read not to take that before delivery.
The tea has fenugreek in it.  The best thing you can do to help low supply ...

Re: New furniture

yep, IKEA. It was the only place I found such a fun dresser. Bonus--cheap. [Y] The whole set is adorable.

New furniture

So this baby and my ds #1 will be sharing a room and I think I found the cutest furniture. What do you think? There is a cute bed and little nightstands, and bookshelf.

Re: Opinions on this....

I like it. Its different. I don't think people will pronounce it wrong (as with some different names). [Y]

Re: need some gift advice

What about a personalized piggy bank? We got my son one online with his name on it that went along with the theme of the nursery.

Re: Getting excited!! when will you start?

I am waiting for my dresser to be shipped. I found a really cute one at IKEA and had to have a friend buy it for me and ship it (not available online). As soon as I get that, all I have to do is get the box of newborn clothes out of my ds#1 closet and wash them. I guess I should wash up the carseat too. Not much to do for a second child. My c-section is scheduled for 12-29 so I still have mo...

Re: It's triplets

[hugs] I am so sorry for this added stress. This must be so scary. I hate to say that old cliche but seems fitting--Everything happens for a reason. I wish you the best of luck and health.

WOW! I am so sorry. I am glad you made it through. Did they say what it might have been? Or just some random stomach bug?

Re: Flu shot anyone?

Part of me thinks Drs push it so much because they make more money on all the vaccine appts for babies and the upcharges on the vaccines themselves, plus they charge for giving the injections! I think it is like a herd mentality...give all the cows the shots & oh well if a few get sick from the shots themselves or have reactions because it is still better than having to treat the whole h...

Re: bigger vehicle

We found a used Toyota Sequoia and we love it!!! The middle seats can all move up and back--which is great for keeping a carseat within arm's reach of the front seat. We were debating between a Suburban or a Sequoia and ended up chosing the Toyota because of the reliablity factor. Suburban has more cargo space but I want to drive this car until it dies so hopefully that will be like 300,000 ...

Re: C section ladies

My dr schedule them @ 39 weeks. My due date is Jan 4th so she is saying the last week in December. Her surgery day is usually Tuesday but I think because of Christmas her week is going to be screwed up. I thought she mentioned Monday. I would prefer Monday because that is my favorite grandma's birthday. DS #1 was born on my dh's favorite Grandma's b-day. Would be cool. We will see

Re: Flu shot anyone?

Well I just have to say that I am VERY leary about vaccines. I have read 4 books on the subject. I am still kind of on the fence as far as vaccines for my kids go. I am thinking I will just hold off on getting this baby vaccinated until he is a bit older and stronger. Anyway...my ob/gyn highly recommended the flu shot for me. I told her no thank you and she proceeded to tell me that there wa...

Re: Your Baby can read

I started the flash cards a few days after I started the movies. Mine didn't say anything in the instructions about the flash cards either. I bought mine from a China wholesaler (I bought 10 and sold the other 9). They didn't have them at Walmart when I was looking for mine & I wasn't going to spend $200 on the set. Anyway, I just picked out some cards that were in the first movie and st...

Re: Oh boy Lots of Pressure!!!

I get the pressure feeling once in a while. It doesn't last long though. Does your pressure down there last? Bending is also a workout. I am out of breath from doing anything. I have never had Braxton Hicks though (w/ any of my kids). Good luck. I hope you can sit down and relax a bit.
