Increasing supply...

So I need to do this.  Our breastfeeding is going splendidly, no complaints, except I think I may need to increase my supply.  I can see from reading on here that there are ways to do that and things I can take.  Can anyone point me to a list?  What is fenugreek? Thanks!

Re: Hungry all of the time (me, not him...well him too, lol)

Yep, what all of you said is totally me!  Especially the water thing, I am not a big water drinker but now I can't get enough.  Just wondered if I was nuts or something, I'd love to reduce my calorie intake to lose weight but there is just no way.  I've lost a bit, and I know breastfeeding burns about 800 calories a day, but I HAVE to eat, and eat what I want.  I find mys...

Hungry all of the time (me, not him...well him too, lol)

I'm assuming breastfeeding makes you hungry more than usual because of all of the extra calorie-burning?

Re: Bottles...

So far so good, pfew! He's been nursing normally, thank G_d. I think I'll wait one more week before we try another bottle. I read where LLL recommended between 4 and 6 weeks, which is different than what my hospital's lactation consultant advised me, but it's all good. Does anyone have any bottle recommendations? We have the Medela ones and Avent, but I've heard Dr. Brown's are good as well...

Re: Bottles...

Ah...so it's good to introduce at 3 weeks then?  My husband went ahead and fed him (today) a bottle I had pumped yesterday.  I know the lactation consultant said to do it between 2 and 3 weeks, but I thought waiting longer would be better.  I guess I'm doing the right thing, then?  I just don't want anything to screw our breastfeeding up, it's going SO well, know what I m...

Bottles...

Hey there. My son is 3 weeks old, and so far exclusively breastfed. No bottles of anything, and it's going so well. I have to return to work (part time) when he is 12 weeks old, so I'll have to pump for the two and a half days that I'll be gone. When do you recommend introducing a bottle of expressed milk, and what kind of bottles are best to use? I don't want him to take a bottle at all, hon...

Re: Looming delivery = GD returns

Sex worked for me. Lots of it. And Prim Rose oil. And walking.

Re: Crappity CRAP CRAP!! Failed my 1 hour glucose test!

Yep.  The first one I needed a 140 and it was 170.  I passed the second. I bet you will be fine. Fingers crossed!

Re: Second C-Section...Scared.

I didn't a quick search on that, but wasn't able to see exactly what it's for?  Is it a salve or do you take it inernally or...?

Re: Second C-Section...Scared.

We have talked about pain control.  Supposedly it would be a CSE, combined spinal/epidural.  I just don't want the spinal to be a low dose, I want to be initially numb from the spinal.  I think the Epidural is used as back up and for pain control.  A nurse friend of mine had a c-s with the different incision, the long one (not the bikini) because of twins.  She...

Re: Second C-Section...Scared.

My husband was almost 10lbs.  I have looked at the ICAN website before, and a friend of ours is a doula and is giving us a bit of assistance.  I understand that the weight of babies is not as accurate via ultrasound in later gestation, but at the same time I do not want to get myself into something that turns out worse than if I had just planned the c-s.  I am due ...

Second C-Section...Scared.

My first C-Section was 14 years ago.  Baby was breech, blood pressure sky-high, they wheeled me in a wheelchair across the street to the hospital and gave me a choice between epidural and general.  I chose general.  I wouldn't say it was technically an emergency c-s, because they ended up delaying it 3 hours, but I would label it "urgent." Needless to say, I felt like a trainwreck w...

What the heck...

I'm new here.  This was taken around 12 1/2 weeks, measuring 13 weeks and 2 days.  Any guesses?  Either is fine with me.
