Re: PGD/IVF after 35

Thanks for the information Whitney. I will definitely look into getting my hormone levels tested. I have seen on other forums of women taking supplements to increase egg quality. Even Dr. Potter had mentioned some supplements that could help. Do you think it works? Have you asked your RE about that? I wish you lots of luck with your transfer.

PGD/IVF after 35

Is anyone here over the age of 35 and had successful PGD/IVF? Statistically fertility decreases when a woman is in her 30s. I started a family in my mid-thirties thinking I was going to have a lot of issues. I got pregnant on the first try for both of my children and they are thankfully very healthy. I want to go HT to conceive my DG in a year or so. Is age really a factor in pregnancy succes...

Re: Afraid to tell anyone I'm pregnant...

This is silly but for my next pregnancy I want to tell people that my pregnancy was unplanned so I didn't know myself. That way my family won't get insulted that I didn't tell them right away. I actually know someone IRL that didn't know she was pregnant until she was 7 months! I have a tiny frame so I usually don't pop until I am 5 or 6 months pregnant. By then I will know the gender. I don...

Re: When will the comments stop?

Glitz - I am going through the same exact thing except with the opposite. I am due with DD2 this month and I was crushed when I found out I was having another girl. I really wanted a boy. My DH and I haven't told people that we know the sex. We are also telling everyone else that we are 'team green'. We just don't want to hear the comments. Everyone that sees me says that they hope I have a ...

Re: Has anyone used CHR in NY?

I have asked a couple of people who have used Dr. Braverman and they haven't had success. I have also been following someone that is using him and she hasn't had a successful cycle yet. I hear he is a wonderful doctor when it comes to immune issues but not so much for GS. That's the feedback I have been getting about him. Do you know anyone that has had success with him?

Re: Has anyone used CHR in NY?
Hi there, we are planning to go with them.  I would love to have a referral from someone, but can't seem to find anyone that has used them. Like you, I've done the research and been in touch with them.  hmmm...
Let us know how everything goes. GL! BTW, has anyone heard of Dr. Hershlag at NS/LIJ? I knew someone that went there for IVF (not GS) an...

Re: Has anyone used CHR in NY?

I have heard of them but I don't know anyone who has used them. Every time I google gender selection clinics, they are the first ones that pop up. They seem very experienced in GS according to their website. I'm surprised many haven't used them. Are their prices reasonable? Let me know how everything works out with them. GL!

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

It helps me also seeing people going through the same thing I am going through. However, in real life, so many women are having boys this year and it is really making my GD worse. I wish people around me were having girls. It's such torture for me. Life likes to be cruel sometimes. I'm almost at the point where I don't want to even associate with women who have boys.

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

Maimai - I've thought of that also. I sometimes feel that God brought me daughters just to give me a chance to have that relationship I never had with women in my life. I definitely will try my hardest to have that mother-daughter relationship with my daughters. But...still doesn't stop me from wanting that son. I would like to see my husband have a great father-son relationship because he nev...

Re: Anyone currently doing an IVF/PGD cycle or Starting one in May?

Here is a thread I found on here that discussed day 5 biopsy. http://www.in-gender.com/cs/forums/p/205295/2179753.aspx

Re: Anyone currently doing an IVF/PGD cycle or Starting one in May?

Hi Everyone! I have been following this thread and I am sorry to hear about the low success rates that most of you are having. SoReady - you mentioned a day 5 biopsy which I thought was interesting. There are some studies out there that have higher success rates with day 5 biopsies. This is definitely something everyone should discuss with their physician. Here is one article on it...hope t...

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

JJ89 - the reason I want boys is not necessarily just about sports. It's also about the connection I had/have with men and the lack of connection i have had with women in my life. I always had way more guy friends then girl friends because I just understood men more and they seem simpler. Even within my family I had more of a connection with the men. A lot of the women in my life are so dramat...

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

This is why, after reading all of these posts, I can't try next for a boy "naturally". I just know it will be another girl with my luck. No offense to you moms out there but I don't want to be a mom to 4 or more girls. I couldn't handle it. i also don't know if I want that many kids. I am so depressed about the 2nd one being a girl that I don't know how I would react if I kept hearing girl wi...

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

They told you the wrong gender for your 1st...and that many times? That's awful! When did you find out she was finally a girl? At birth?

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

Yes I tell moms who want girls the same thing. My daughter is such a tomboy. She's still a little too young but she hates dresses, clips in her hair and loves to play in dirt. It's funny how things work BellaVita - that's very funny!!!

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

Please!! I would love for the ultrasound to be wrong but it seems like that doesn't really happen anymore, unfortunately. Did you ever sway to have a boy (not that I really believe in swaying anyway)?

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

I'm jealous of football moms. They don't know how good they have it. At least you will have your son and in 16 years you will go to a game. Watch what happens...we will both have sons and they won't have any interest in sports. LOL

Re: No one is disappointed in having girls?

mrspopo- that's why i find my GD so hard to deal with because most women want daughters. There is no one that i can talk to about this that would understand because it seems everyone has a son(s). I wish I were one of those women on these sites that have 3 or 4 sons. I would be SO Happy!!

Re: PGD on 5 day frozen embryos from previous IVF cycle? Is this even possible?

Sorry to hear about your 2nd son. Health is definitely the most important. 18 fertilized eggs is great! This sounds like a better clinic already. GL!

Re: PGD on 5 day frozen embryos from previous IVF cycle? Is this even possible?

That's awesome that you are having a good experience. I've been trying to find women who have used him and I can't seem to find many. I have found 1 or 2 and I have heard mixed reviews. However, they cycled with him 2 years ago so things probably have changed. I know he used American Fertility center which doesn't have good stats. I have actually emailed him a couple of days ago and he respon...

Re: PGD on 5 day frozen embryos from previous IVF cycle? Is this even possible?

Hi Jany - I see that you are using Dr. Braverman. How do you like him and the experience so far? I am trying to decide on where to go for GS. I will follow your thread and see your experience. I hope you have luck with your cycles. Is he still using American Fertility clinics?

Re: Anyone currently doing an IVF/PGD cycle or Starting one in May?

Oh I didn't know that. Guess I learned something new. This is why I like this post. I want to know the details before I decide doing HT. I know nothing about it.

Re: Anyone currently doing an IVF/PGD cycle or Starting one in May?

SoReady - That's the first time I heard someone having to go on birth control. Did you have irregular cycles to begin with? What if you have regular cycles, do you still have to take them? So glad to hear that the shots aren't that bad. I hope it continues to be great!

Re: Anyone currently doing an IVF/PGD cycle or Starting one in May?

I'm not going to be doing it for a while but would love to know your experience. I want to go HT for a boy in the future. GL with everything!!

Re: What is the best PGD/IVF clinic in NYC?

Hi Photo-Girl! I'm curious to see what you have found in your research for NYC clinics. I have chatted with a few women on this site and other sites and this is what I found. Dr. Braverman is a good doctor but his specialty is in immunology and helps women with recurrent miscarriages. However, they wouldn't choose him for GS because the labs he utilizes are not very reliable. A few women i ...
