Re: pics of aine

Wow is she cute... I love her cheeks.  And your boys are darling too... what a great looking family.

Re: Julietdreams - Anyone hear from her?

I've been thinking of you too, Julietdreams.  Hope your darling baby has arrived and everyone is happy and healthy!

Re: My daughter has arrived! (Pic and Labor story included)

Thanks everyone!  Claire has been a great baby so far... I definitely feel blessed!   PS:  For those who asked, the sleep-sack is Zutano (yes, there are cute boy and unisex versions) and was purchased at a boutique in my area that has online shopping too (www.theredballoon.com)

July mommies -- My baby arrived!

I posted a picture and my labor story in the birth announcement forum, but wanted to share with all of you that my daughter, Claire Anneliese, arrived at 10:56 pm on Sunday, July 6th (the night before my scheduled induction).  She weighed 6 lbs 11 oz and is 19 inches long.  We are home and doing well... The boys can't get enough of her.  Good luck to all the July moms-in-waiting, ...

My daughter has arrived! (Pic and Labor story included)

My daughter, Claire Anneliese, was born on Sunday, July 6th -- The day before her scheduled induction.  I'm bias, of course, but think she is beautiful!  She weighed 6 lbs 11 oz. at birth, and is 19 inches long.  Already a drama queen, she had a fast and exciting birth... As some of you may remember, I was contracting for weeks and already at 5 cm dilated and 100% e...

Congratulations to you and your family -- I can't wait to hear more details!!

Re: Im stressing myself out about delivery

It's a tough decision, I know.  I am much closer to my hospital than you are but b/c my cervix is so ready (5 cm and 100% effaced as of my doc appt this morning) I am also stressed out about getting a sitter for the boys (no family anywhere nearby) and making it to the hospital in time... So I went ahead and scheduled an induction for July 7th (assuming I make it until then).&n...

Re: Seeing the Doctor

I agree that it's typical practice... My doc schedules the first appt. at 8-10 weeks and does not do blood work just to confirm pregnancy.  I have, however, had ultrasounds at those initial visits to confirm/calculate due date and see the little heart beating -- It's great!

Re: JULY MOMMIES

I have an induction scheduled for Monday, July 7th (although I'm not totally sure I will go through with it b/c I am totally on the fence regarding inducing -- and the doc also thinks I could go sooner since I've been at 4.5 cm and 75% effaced for a long time now). I have another doc appt in about an hour, so I will post with any updates tonight! Thanks for creating this list -- it's great.

Re: Last-minute lists...

Nesting has hit me in fits and flurries lately too.  I feel like DH will be lost during the 48 hours I'm at the hospital (I'm pretty sure he has no idea of the kids camp schedules, what they need to wear and pack each day for camp, etc.).  Lists are a good idea... maybe I should put together a few myself [:P]

Re: I've had my Baby

Congratulations, inkpen.  After all the complications you had, I am so glad to hear your little guy finally arrived happy and healthy.  I love the name, and can't wait to see pics!  Take care and try to get some sleep! Congrats [DS]

The Name Game

Well, I FINALLY got DH to talk baby girl names and I think we have narrowed our list down (with one front-runner, but I wont say which).  I'm curious about others opinions of the names so here it goes: [Poll] Thanks for your input!!

Oh, I never thought of that... I'm new to this poll thing.  Thanks for responding!

Re: My BF PG whine!

Can I join you??  I am contracting every 10 minutes (sometimes painfully), have to pee even more often than that, and have hemorroids that (unlike this baby) have found a way out of my body!!!  Oh, and I had sex last night but it didn't make me feel any better (or trigger labor -- its intended purpose). I will be thinking of you during my sleepless nights!  Good luck getting throug...

Poll: Time of day labor started

For obvious reasons, this question has been on my mind lately.  Strangely, I went into labor at the exact same time of day with both my boys (first thing in the morning at like 7 am).  Should be interesting to see if there is a time of day when labor more often starts.  Thanks for responding! Re: To induce or not? Looking for advice...

Thanks for all of the insights!  The debate on this thread sounds like the one going on in my head... I'm still undecided but will keep you posted.

Re: 30 wks 5 days and not doing so good. Advice please!

I was hospitalized for preterm labor at 26 weeks and dilated 1 cm at that time (although my cervix remained long).  I am now full term... However, I was placed on restricted activity from about 26 to 32 weeks.  Also, I didn't have any of the other complications you've described.  I personally think you should follow your instinct and try to reduce your activity/work a...

To induce or not? Looking for advice...

I am struggling to decide whether I should schedule an induction for next week -- the course of action suggested by my doctor -- because I really want a natural childbirth (no epidural) and am afraid that my labor will be longer/more difficult if induced.  My first two babies came VERY fast on their own (in fact, no epidural for the first b/c I arrived at the hospital at almost 9 cm already)....

Re: Is it too late for a bikini wax?

I've had bikini waxes very late in all my pregnancies (when dilated) with no problem.

Re: Any day now...please advise!

I hope that your doc is right and you deliver soon!  However, it is not uncommon to go weeks or months dilated and effaced.  With my first two pregnancies, I was 3 or more centimeters dilated for at least a week... and with my current pregnancy I've been 4+ cm dilated and 75% effaced for almost 2 weeks now (3 cm a week before that, and 2 cm the week before that). Whe...

Re: How much longer can this possibly go on??

Thanks for letting me vent, ladies!  I went early with DS2 (35 weeks) but was full-term (39 weeks) with DS1.  With this baby, I was hospitalized for preterm labor at 26 weeks (and given steroids for her lungs).  After weeks of being told I could go "any day now," I think my nerves are shot!   BUT a good night sleep has made me feel a bit better.  DH r...
