Paxton William is here!

He was born on December 14th at 1:08 and weighed 7 lbs 5 oz.  He was 21 inches long.  And he is SO beautiful!!!  I was in labor 12 hours, but had an epidural for most of it...until the end, it started to wear off but I was so close to pushing that they just gave me a little something to get through the pushing.  He was out in one big push and two small pushes...less than 5 minu...

Re: Mucous Plug TMI!?

I have been losing it in pieces...thought it was the whole thing the first time because there was so much, but it turns out there was still some up there.  ;)  Lost some yesterday afternoon, then last night had a chunk that was all brown...it was about the size of a quarter.  Not many contractions though.  Definitely good to know things are moving along!

Re: Mucous Plug TMI!?

I'm pretty sure I lost mine yesterday.  Big glob of mucus with a strip of faint red/pink.  But I haven't been having many contractions.  Just a couple here and there...looks like no labor for me yet which is absolutely fine!  I wish there was a definitive way of finding out if it's really the mucus plug or maybe just an excess of discharge...

Re: Effacing?

Awesome!  Guess that means your body is definitely getting itself ready!  Not much longer now!

Re: Dates (Appts., Scans, Etc.)

If baby boy wasn't measuring a week ahead, I'd have to wait until 39 weeks too.  She decided to go with a due date of anywhere from the 20th to the 26th, so I'm just lucky.  I know for sure when we conceived, so our true due date is the 25th...but I'm not complaining!  A full moon can do wonders!

Re: Dates (Appts., Scans, Etc.)

[quote user="fashionistaofdivas"] I'm 24+4 and usually your uterus measures in centimeters about where you are wks...my uterus is measuring at 30 cm/wks. Ob is concerned that if I were to get too close to term that the baby might be close to 9.5lbs and too big for me to push out. He knows I don't want a c-section and wants to help me avoid it if possible. I'll let you know of that date once I kn...

Re: Effacing?

She didn't give me an effacement percentage, but I am 2 cm dilated!  I've never had a problem with thinning, always at 100% by the time I deliver.  And apparently I don't need to worry about dilation either.  =)  And we scheduled my induction date for the 14th, so I have two weeks!!

Re: home stretch

I'm DEFINITELY tired!  Besides being 9 months pregnant, it's just so hard to stay in bed for a good stretch because my back and hips will start hurting to the point that it keeps me awake.  I just keep thinking "2 more weeks, 2 more weeks", we can do this!

home stretch

I had my 36 week appointment today and so far, so good!  My doctor has checked me at every visit just for thinning or softness in the outer part of the cervix, but today she checked for dilation.  Man did that hurt!  But she has TINY hands, so I wasn't surprised.  Anyway, she told me my cervix is still long, but thinning and that I'm 2 cm dilated already.  We also schedule...

Re: Effacing?

I'm hoping to find out if I'm effacing when I go in on Monday for my  36 week appointment.  I've been thinned a little for the last month, but she didn't give me a percentage so I don't think it was enough to make a difference.  But with my previous pregnancies, I have effaced and dilated early, so I'm not expecting anything different.  It certainly helps for a faster labor!

Re: Ready to have a BABY!?

I've been getting the "how much longer to you have" since I was 6 months along.  This is my 4th full term pregnancy so my uterus is measuring a little bigger which dr. says is completely normal.  But you guys are right, people just feel the need to comment.  I do have a friend who is constantly telling me how great I look so that's always encouraging!  And just the other d...

full moon/going into labor

For a long time I thought the whole going into labor around a full moon was just another old wive's tale.  But turns out, there's some truth to it!  The barometric pressure change caused by the moon's cycle can indeed make a woman go into labor!  There's a full moon on Sunday...and then in December it's also on the 21st.  I'm hoping to be induced at 39 weeks (the 17th or 18th) ...

Re: I have a huge boy

When I had my 20 week scan (at almost 22 weeks) they estimated that he was 1-2 weeks ahead, but we know exactly when we conceived, so he's just going to be big.  My first boy was 5 days late and 9lbs 5oz.  So I was prepared to hear that.  I have no idea how big he's measuring now, but I'd guess he's probably close to 6 already and I'm 34 wks 3 days.  Average at 34 is 5.5lbs.&nb...

Re: Is baby head down and ready to go?

The last two appointments I went to, Dr. said she could feel his head.  She checks me everytime.  Anyway, my best friend with her last pregnancy had several ultrasounds because her baby had only a 2 vessel cord.  They had to keep an eye on that.  Anyway, at the last scan before she was to be induced, baby was head down.  She went in the morning of the induction and the nur...

Re: Mucous Plug TMI!?

It does replace itself.  The body's natural way of protecting the baby.  With my first, I lost my mucus plug but just a little bit of it.  I was 39 weeks and ended up going into labor 3 hours later.  But with my son, I lost bits of it near the end too, and stayed pregnant until 40 wks and 5 days when they eventually induced.  And I've had two very vivid dreams recently of ...

Re: Baby boy name for #3

We considered Jackson for this one...our other son is Kaden too!  The name we ended up choosing ends with "on" and sounds great with Kaden.  My husband's name ends with that same sound too.  That was one of the biggest factors in choosing the name.  Whichever name you choose, they're all great!  I voted Jackson, by the way...

Re: Naming girl similar to niece?

Nothing wrong with it at all!  My daughter and neice have the same middle name (which we use very often) and they love that they have it in common.  =)

Re: Estimated 5 lb 4oz at 32 wks 2 days

I think given the size of your other two, this just seems to be the trend for your babies.  I had the 20 week ultrasound when I was already 22 weeks.  He was measuring 2 weeks ahead in his torso and a week ahead in his limbs...so they assumed we had given them the wrong dates to begin with.  But we know exactly when we conceived, so we know he's just measuring big.  My first so...

Re: I want to find out the average delivery week for Dec. Your due date????

Caucasian (Irish, Welsh and American Indian ancestry)December 25Boy   I was induced two weeks early (doctor just wanted to schedule it since my body was ready) with my daughter.  With my son, I was induced 5 days late because I just wasn't going in to labor on my own and with him I had military healthcare (boo!).  No telling how long I would've gone with him...so I'm back with my ...

Re: so what have you bought so far???

So far, I've only bought a few outfits.  Mostly sleepers.  Since this little guy has an older brother, we have a lot of the clothes already.  And we've got some of the essentials like a crib, high chair, stroller.  We're going to buy a new car seat.  We used the same one for both of our other kids and now it's just too old to use.  We really should've gotten a new one...

Re: anyone kept bestbaby test and it changed?

Well, I had my scan and it turns out that my original results were the right ones.  I'm having another boy!  And I'm still very excited!  My other son is 2 so they'll be close in age and I'm glad for that.  =)

Re: any guesses?? boy or girl?

I finally had my scan yesterday!  It's a boy!!!

Re: anyone kept bestbaby test and it changed?

Well, I hope it works like that for me!  Not that I wouldn't love a baby boy, but I'm ready for a girl again. =D

Re: anyone kept bestbaby test and it changed?

Well, that's interesting! I was so curious. Thanks! I guess I'll see in a few weeks.

anyone kept bestbaby test and it changed?

My results changed from orange to green in about a week.  But I wondered if anyone kept a boy result of orange longer than a week and it stayed orange?  The reason I'm so curious is because I took the Intelligender test too, for which I also got a boy result.  They don't have the same deal with it changing colors.  If it's a boy result, it's a boy result no matte...
