PGD was a must for me! Even when I only had a few embies to work with and was at risk of losing all of them, I'd rather have cycled again than take a chance with MS alone. I'm really glad too because we found out later my DH's sort was only 82%. We did the 5 probe and conceived twins. Because of that, I felt confident skipping anymore genetic testing during the pregna...

DH has been out of town for 2 weeks and I finally did my "save my sanity" trick of getting out some new toys so the kids would be occupied and I could get a break. Ha! I should have known better. I bought 6 new things for the girls. What do they do? Fight like crazy over one toy at a time. Pushing, hitting over the head, screaming, knock down brawling. So ...

We had a hard time with this decision. I like insurnace, DH prefers to wing it. We did the math and figured that lots of things aren't included in the 2 cycle package like MS, PGD, maybe ICSI (can't remember) so the savings for us considering all that we would add on wasn't that much.

Oh Keren. This is just awful. I'm so sorry. It was hard to understand why you lost your baby girls last year and now this is just even more heartbreaking. It's so freaking unfair. Words fail me but I can send (((HUGS))) your way.

My Home Depot doesn't carry any but they have 3 pages of them online. Not too spendy either. Hmmm now which to choose. I think I'm gonna leave this up to DH. No first hand experience here. [:P]

Whooo hooo now the fun begins. Good job mama for cooking those babies. I'm sure it's hard having them in the NICU but honestly I wish they had kept my Georgia instead of sending her straight home with me at 4lbs3oz. It was crazy trying to take her temp and running them both in for checks those first few days. Keep up the pumping. We supplemented too for awhile s...

Oh yeah they will need a toilet as well. But heck if there's both then 2 boys can pee at the same time and eliminate the impulse to use the sink! Or right outside the door. Grrrrr..... boys!

We are just trying tights now because I never bothered with dresses before they could walk. I'm learning that tights are very slippery on wood floors and basically drive my girls nuts when their shoes are off. I think I'm going back to leggings and socks except for very dressy occasions.

We are renovating the basement into a large playroom and 2 new bedrooms for our boys. It will also have a bathroom for them and DS1 suggested that we put a urinal in the new bathroom. Hmmmm anyone ever heard of one of these in a house? I've seen the little plastic one you can get for potty training. Would they be cleaner and hit the mark better with a urinal? We keep ...

I keep a little potty in the living room by the TV so it's very close and handy. I also bribe with candy. 1 piece for pee and 2 for poop in the toilet. Good luck! The best thing is patience and encouragement. FWIW my 2nd DS didn't go dry all night til he was 6.

That's very exciting news! At our early u/s one baby's sac looked much smaller and they kept preparing us to lose her but she was just fine. Twins are quite an experience!

Those lil boogers! LOL I know the feeling. I had one baby transverse across the top and the other tucked low on the bottom. She was all nice and head down for a long time then went breech on me. My OB said I had to have her head down to attempt a vaginal birth. I did all kinds of research and learned about chiropractic treatments, shining a light thr...

It's really hard to know this early. One of our twin's sack was "small" the first few times they measured it and they kept preparing us that we might lose her. Finally at 9 weeks I had a scan done through my tummy and she measured just fine. It seemed to be the angle of the transvagainal wand that was throwing off the measurement. I hope the same turns out to be true ...

Not yet but it's coming I'm sure. Vivian bit me tonight for the first time. It was totally random as she was pressing her face into my leg. But oh boy did it shock me and get a loud reaction. Hope I can nip that one in the bud. [rofl] who am I kidding?

My girls like to bash each other over the head with whatever happens to be in their hands if they get too close to each other. One twin is more aggressive than the other but they are both guilty. Sometimes I think it's just a reflex and othertimes it's because they are mad. What do you do at 17 months? They don't really get what they are doing yet. DH thinks the hitte...

Bouncy seats, slings, swings anything that could hold one baby while I dealt with the other. Have a changing table on the main floor close to the action. Buy enough bottles or pumping supplies to go all day without having to hand wash then toss them all in the dishwasher. I never used the Itzbeen. I really liked having it all charted on paper so I could refer back to ...

Sounds good to me! I was soooo hungry in the beginning. Like waking up in the middle of the night to eat hungry. Or I'd get into bed for the night and realize nope I gotta eat again before I can fall asleep. If you try to eat things with better nutritional value it will help. But dig into the ice cream, cheese cake, steak, etc. You need those calories righ...

I know it's hard to imagine but it's really really hard to gain any weight the 3rd trimester. I lost a couple pounds the last month. The babies are taking up all of your stomach room and you have to make yourself eat. That's why she promotes weight gain early and really high calorie stuff all along. You need to gain a cushion so there are extra resources in your body ...

I found her book really helpful in a lot of ways. One was the emphasis to eat eat eat. It was really hard to eat much of anything the 3rd trimester. Her words would echo in my head about eating high protein/high fat foods. If I could stomach a cheeseburger and milk shake I did. I ate hostess fruit pies with big glasses of milk. I would chug high protein B...

I agree with the PPs. I never did them in my thigh, just the love handle area on the upper back of my buttocks. I did them myself and tried to remember to make the needle like a dart going in fast and straight. Sometime I'd do a couple practice moves without injecting myself before doing one all the way. I never pulled the plunger back to check for blood. My nur...

Actually it doesn't swing much. It bounces up and down mostly. It took up about the same amount of floor space and it's really lightweight and easy to move. We kept one twin next to the bed in it. It was great because when she fussed you could just rock her gently. Her own movements would make it bounce a little.

DS2 had to sleep in his swing due to reflux. We did it for the first 4 months til he was too big. I had those same papasan swings for my girls. They never slept in them though. I just never needed too as we had an Amby bed for the baby that needed to be upright. You might take a look at those. You can find them on Craigslist or ebay used. It was a lifesave...

With my first DS they told you to use alcohol on the stump then DS2 came along and they said not to. So we didn't and it got all green and funky and only half fell off. I was sure it was infected but they said no. Hmmmm Anyway I started cleaning it with alcohol and it dried up. When the twins were born I cleaned it once a day and they fell off just great. HTH&nb...
