Re: UPDATE...no transfer

Hi all, Thanks a lot for your warm wishes & support .CD & Jodi, I am stunned to see no transfer for both you! Your cycles were going very smooth & this type of outcome was not anticipated. Jodi…have you ever wondered what if you have discussed to your RE about Day4 transfer rather than Day5 or just a little early transfer? Oh, my prying mind is asking difficult questions again. I stil...

UPDATE...no transfer

Thanks ladies, I really appreciate your support. Here is my update: Eggs Retrieved: 14 Eggs Fertilized: 11 Day3 Report: Four embryos were dead or less than 5 cells…so no PGD for those embryos. Out of remaining 7 embryos, one was at 8 cells stage, 3 were at 7 cells & 3 were at 5 cells stage. Day5 PGD Report: Four males & 2 females!! One was undetermined. ...

Re: June Cycle Group

Jodi, it makes perfect sense….after all we are going through wide range of emotions!! I was nauseated whole day…oh, nausea…it’s a sign pregnancy!! Is there any sillier thought than this…I am still on Lupron!! LOL. Friday is my baseline day. CD-One thing about baseline day AF counts…sometimes, follicles are so tiny, it’s hard to see with ultrasound but with stims they grow quickly. I hope you wil...

Re: those who recently did hi tech

minime, your contribution in this Forum is tremendous. I agree that present roll call is a good way to follow current cycles and cheer everyone. I can’t thank you enough for your devotion. Not many people have that much proficiency & liveliness!…Love NTJ I know most of the people don’t want to talk about BFN because it’s very depressing. Believe me, most of us found this Forum while s...

Re: BFN for me

Marie, how are you doing?May God give you strength at this difficult time. Now,what is your next step? If I am not wrong, you have done IVF/MS (used frozen sperm sample with collaborator)? Did you get the chance to ask about microsort collaborating clinic’s success rate? How many pregnancies they have achieved by using microsorted-frozen sperms?

Re: MS sorting - unknown damage to sperm

[quote user="girlonthebrain"] Hi Does anyone have any info either confirming or denying - I read somewhere that they do not know whether or not the UV light and the dyes injected onto the sperm cause damage which is not immediately known or seen.  Since it is such a new procedure, there may be unknown negative repercussions on the child's health in reaction to the UV light or dyes....I am ...

June Cycle Group

Yes, at the time of baseline ultrasound, most of us used to have those messy days but in infertility clinics this is everyday thing so, it’s not a big deal for them. You are right… first day; it was my biggest concern too! I will start stims on next Friday .As far as Lupron is going fine except few sleepless nights. I think, I should give some more time in summer church school. Want1girl, try t...

Re: PGD probe 9 vs. 12

I can only hope that our embryologist works as hard as hola’s. Perhaps more of us will find that we have another good embie in the mix.    Exactly, I wish the same thing. In fact PGD lab is the most crucial thing in the whole process. To be gently honest, in my previous 2 cycles at GIVF, I never got a chance to meet the embryologist. Talking and discussion was the remote thing! ...

Re: PGD probe 9 vs. 12

Maureen, You are right …these types of practice are not common in every lab. But, to my surprise Pacific Fertility’s ( hope I am writing the correct name ) embryologists have done this (Hola’s mosaic case). They removed second cell from the embryo to assure this. I am very thankful that she has shared her experience with us here. Now,I am more aware about this issue & will talk to ...

Re: PGD probe 9 vs. 12

I am so confused about this mosaicism thing?  Could someone explain it a little more?  About half of the chromosomal abnormalities in human preimplantation embryos are problems with the chromosome count –monosomies and trisomies (for example a missing or an extra chromosome). The other half of the abnormalities is "mosaics". This means that the chromosome testing revealed that there a...

Re: PGD probe 9 vs. 12

Hi Hola, I am totally agreed with you & after a lot of discussions; I am also inclining towards X, Y & Downs. If we will get good number of embryos, maybe then we can add 5 probes panel (X,Y & three major trisomies) .It’s true that 9 & 12 probes add those chromosomes that if abnormal would not implant or miscarry on their own. In PGD you cannot exclude all aneuploidies anyway an...

Re: PGD probe 9 vs. 12

Thank you for sharing this info but all is good when someone has lot of excellent embryos to work with. The accuracy of PGD of aneuploidy is approx. 90%. This means chances of misdiagnosis is 10%. There is also possibility that testing will not work and will not give result. A mosaicism can also occur ( see HOLA’s case). On top of that, PGD cannot test all types of aneuploidies that’s why prenatal...

Re: med protocol

Hi Jodi, That’s good news. If you have done baseline today and results are fine then why wait till Monday for stims? Will you do another ultrasound on Monday before starting stims? Sorry for being inquisitive …at your clinic how much lining thickness they are looking for? Thanks.NTJ

Re: med protocol

Lupron injection contains the preservative benzyl alcohol. So, maybe that stinging reaction is because of it. If you have allergy to benzyl alcohol, you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring. But, please do not distress, it maybe just a little discomfort of intradermal injection if not appropriately given!  As for storage, I never refrigerated any of my meds and was neve...

Re: lupron question

In clomid challenge test, there is no manipulation in cycle days but, yes in actual IVF cycle, they can manipulate your cycle length. Lupron initially stimulate the pituitary gland to release all the stored gonadotropins (LH and FSH -the hormones that normally stimulate ovarian function). Over the course of a week to ten days, Lupron suppress the production of any new LH and FSH. This effect appe...

Re: med protocol

Hi all cycle buddies, It is my first day on Lupron. I am doing 10 units of Lupron with BCPs for 7 days then Lupron alone for 7 Days. At 8th Day, I will go for baseline & in the eve, will start stimms. I didn’t get the dosage schedule either! I will talk to the nurse about it on baseline day. In my first cycle, my nurse forgot to send monitoring orders & when I asked, she bluntly said, m...

Re: BFN, thanks for the wishes and support

Dear Sarita, I am so sorry to hear BFN news. I admire your strength. It’s so disappointing when you had such a good response and two blastocysts for fresh transfer! I think it’s a good decision to go directly for fresh cycle instead going for FET. Wish you good luck for the next time. NTJ

Re: Hola had a STRANGE transfer experience!

Hola, So, all the embryo culture and biopsy done at Pacific Fertility in San Francisco & PGD analysis was done in GIVF? I think, in entire PGD process, embryologist’s dedication & discussion with patient really matters for successful outcome. And, certainly you had amazing embryologist at Pacific Fertility. Take plenty of rest & think positive .I know how hard is not to POAS in 2 ...
