Hi,
I used Dr.Potter in 2008 and had fabulous results!!!!! My cost was a little under 20k with a 2 cycle pkg, MS, PGD, meds. I'm local so I didn't incur any travel expense. In the end though I would say our cost worked out to be lower because I was able to combine all our medical expenses that year for a much needed tax deduction!
Now, would I travel to use Dr.Potter again if needed? Abso...

Hi!Dr. P had to aspirate a blood filled cyst on me. I was awake and it was fast.I did feel just a pinch but a painful pinch! After the pinch I had no pain. Do yourself a favor though and dont look at the needle till afterwards. Just look away....that was probably the worst part of the hole thing was seeing what they used. Not bad if you ask me! Good luck!

did you feel like the monitoring was sufficient?Yes! was your protocol adjusted during monitoring if your E2 was high or if your follie count was low?Yes! Immediately.anything else you think is worth knowing for a smooth cycle? If you get your blood work done there in the morning you get your results the same day. I think it needs to be done before 10 am? This is great for the big pregnancy t...

I cycled w/ Dr.Potter mostly because I found him prior to finding this site and it was quite to clear to me that at the very least he was non judgemental about GS,obviously. Being on the same page as my doctor is important to me.He was awesome and so is his nurse Lori who you will have the most contact with outside of your doctor visits. She is very important! All of his staff was exceptionaly nice...

Hi Dr. Potter!!!
I cycled with you back in Aug 08 at HRC- LH. We hit some bumps in the road (bi lateral dermoid cysts, blood filled cyst, poor response to meds at first) but ultimately I was a one hit wonder with your help!
Our little girl, Aubrey, arrived May 14th perfect and healthy at Saddleback. [:-)]
I can't thank you enough for being the awesome doctor that you are and what the world n...

Hi girls!
Its been a long time since I've been here, so sorry!
I wanted to come and update my cycle info and let you all know that my daughter arrived safe and sound.
She was born May 14th and her name is Aubrey.
One hit wonder - it can happen for you to!

Hi Jill,
I did 5 probe - x,y,13,18,21. There is no "increased risk" to the embryo as the testing is done from the same cell used to test gender. There is the argument however of false positives but not increased damage if you already doing it.
So since I was already doing PGD I definitely wanted to use the technology to screen for abnormalities. That is what worked for me.
Also, we have no ...

Hi Pearls,
At my first u/s I only had 5 or maybe 6 follies... Shoot it could of been less! To be exact I would have to look back on my posts. I cycled in August. Dr. P increased my gonal-f to 375. Some odd ultrasounds later I think I had 8 and it was predicted that I would have around that many at retrieval. I was in shock but Dr. P didn't seem to mind at all. In the end he retrieved 1...

Personaly if that was my first consult I would not go back. You need a doctor who is 100% on board for GS as that is the reason for the consult. You need a doctor who belives in the services he offers such as PGD and is CONFIDENT in providing them. Huge red flag for me.At the end of the day you need a doctor who is on the same page as you and your dh as this process is to stressful to not a have a...

As another MS user I can understand your concerns. Personally I don't think that children should bear the weight of our adult choices.
I doubt I will tell any of my children about how each was conceived. I would however be open to discuss this with them as adults.

Hi PP,
How is your cycle going so far? I had the clomid challenge test. It's a pretty cheap and simple test. I don't know for sure if its a standard everywhere but my impression is that it is. My understanding is that in addition to checking your ovarian reserve it helps the RE plan a protocol based on those results. The higher the fsh level the more aggressive the treatment with stims. For examp...

If you can fully accept and handle that she might not approve and or have strong feelings over your choice than do it.
If on the other hand it would make you very uncomfortable than think twice and leave out the GS.
Ideally everyone would accept each individual persons choice on reproducing but that is not the society we live in and although I'm willing to accept others choices pe...

I bet your RE isn't giving ultrasounds for fun. He/she is doing his due diligence and thats a good thing.[:)] If you think they are unnecessary ask why. Although I can't say this with 100% certainty I'm guessing that the benefit is out weighing any unfounded risk.
I had ultrasounds from 8 wks of pregnancy till the morning of my c-section.I think it was just about...

I would absolutely do it! Why not just in case? Its certainly not invasive.
I recall that every PGD paper I signed recommended to follow through with appropriate screening and should not be used a substitute.
I would of looked at my OB sideways.

About a year ago I had a bout of insominia... After discussing my options w/ my doctor we decided that I would use the first NON narcotic and non addictive sleep aid verses lunesta and ambien. Well my insurance company wouldn't approve the RX unless I had failed lunesta and ambien after 6 mos use each. I saw red! Forced to use an addictive narcotic! Luckily I have a great doctor ...
