Re: A new annoying comment

yes!! it can def be annoying. i just assumed the people were telling me this one is a boy because they thought thats what I wanted to hear.  I basically just kept a smile on my face and said "i'll be happy either way" and sometimes said that old cliche "as long as the babys healthy thats all that matters."  i have found that MOST people don't come from a place of bad intentions...

Re: depression/anxiety

thanks ladies.  i have a drs appt tomorrow so I will talk to him about it.  i'm also in the process of a career change (i'm a social worker but going back to school for nursing) so i think that might have something to do with it as well.  plus, my job doesn't pay you for maternity leave so there's that financial stress as well that I know will be coming.  my husband has a good ...

Re: Twins on the Way - Gender Anxiety DOUBLED

First of all, congrats on the twins!  That's awesome :)   Here's my advice and what I would do/did do when I first found out I was pregnant with my daughter (before I knew she was a girl)...i would prepare yourself as if they are both girls, it might make it easier.  to be honest, when i first found out i was pregnant with my daughter, i wanted a boy for the reasons you state...

depression/anxiety

Hey ladies! I was just wondering if there is a board on in-gender that's specific to post partum depression/anxiety or for pregnancy/anxiety during pregnancy?  I'm wondering because I'm having these feelings and it's not gender related. I have a one year old and I'm 26 weeks pregnant.  I have been getting panic attacks that are debilitating.  I have a history of anxiety but I ...

Re: How many kids will you have?

DH and I are both 27.  I would like to have 3 by the time I'm 31, and then maybe a 4th if it happens.  My ideal would be 5 but its just not financially possible unless I were to end up becoming a nurse practitioner.  DH is a cop and I'm a social worker going back for another degree in nursing, not sure we can afford a mortgage in the area we live for a home that would...

Re: Encouraging Signatures (Siggies)

also, I just wanted to add that when I got home from work today I talked to my husband and he admitted that he had resigned himself to the fact that he would have all girls after having our daughter.  he said that after we found out we were having another baby, he had just assumed in his head it would be a girl, and look at how wrong he was!  he also told me that now that he knows hes ha...

Re: Encouraging Signatures (Siggies)

hey sad dad!!!i just wanted to take the time to write to you.  reading your post it sounded like my husband could have written it.  From the moment we found out we were pregnant with our first, my DH let me know he wanted a boy badly.  He wouldn't even let me talk about having a girl because he thought it would "jinx" it.  When we found out our daughter was indeed a girl, the l...

Re: new here

wow thank you everyone... Alpha, I think you hit the nail on the head when you said you felt bad about not giving your daughter a sister at first.  I think that's why I was disappointed.  I think it has more to do with not giving her a sister than the baby being a boy so thank you for pointing that out, it made lightbulbs go off in my head!new baby...i was just looking through different ...

Re: Panicked at gender ultrasound!!

i know exactly how you feel! i had mine yesterday and i almost made DH turn the car around.  I honestly had a panic attack.  You are definitely not crazy.  I was shaking right before my ultrasound.  I honestly think once you open it though a sense of calm will come over you one way or another :)

Re: new here
