I just had to add my experience here. I had an upset stomach THE DAY OF MY TRANSFER. I was sure that the baby was gone, but two weeks later I got my BFP!!! So hang in there. I think it really does take alot to get those suckers out. Good luck to you!

Visits are usually every other day or every day. I squished my cycle into just one week. I was ready when we got there for the retrieval, and I we left the day of transfer.

I was told at 13 weeks after MS by my OB that he thought I had a boy in there. I now have a four month old little girl. Keep the faith!

I cycled at GIVF this time last year, and in October of 2008. At that time, I was aware that GIVF had given prior participants a frozen second vial from the same semen sample for a later cycle. I asked them both times if I could have a vial for a second cycle frozen, and they said that because the clinical trial was nearing and end, they had stopped the practice of freez...

Nope. But, I tend to be a healthy eater, and increased my protien.

I think that the scheduling of the cycle really depends on your protocol. On my first cycle, I was on a microdose lupron protocol, and the doctor was able to give me a time for ER within two days. On the second cycle, it was an antagonist protocol, and they really could not give me any ideas (it was basically in a five day window). Could not nail it down ahead of time, and it was...

I don't think that I gain alot because of the IVF meds. I am a nervous eater, so any weight I gained, I attributed it to nervous eating, and it was not alot-maybe 5 pounds for the first 8 weeks or so. Of course, then the nausea kicks in the the weight started to come off for a bit. I agree with the prior poster, even though I was worried about it, weight gain really is the least ...

My sweet baby girl who turned weeks on Friday is a success from GIVF. I had a wonderful experience with that clinic. I cycled with Dr. Lincoln and his nurse was extremely responsive. When I would call, I would get a return call usually within a couple of hours. Dr. Lincoln took about an hour of his time to discuss my previous failed cycle, and to explain the alternative pro...

I used frozen (1x) sperm with a BFN. The embryologist said that upon thawing they had mishappened heads and no motility. However, the fertilization rate was within normal ranges, but I did not get preggers, and there were no embryos left to freeze. On my BFP cycle with fresh MS sperm, I still had no embryos to freeze. I don't know if that helps, but obviously, I am pro...

My DD arrived earlier than expected. I was supposed to have her by c-section on 11/10, but when I went to my doctor's appointment on 11/6, there was little amniotic fluid, so we delivered early. She is a beautiful, good little baby. Just over a week old now, and suffering with her first cold (compliments of her two older brothers!) She is just so beautiful and sweet. ...

My daughter is finally here! She was born on Nov. 6th and is just the tiniest, cutest little thing. As some of you may remember, she was conceived last February using MS and IVF. It was my second cycle and according to DH, my last. I am just so thankful and blessed to have her. Thank you for all of your encouragement and stories. They helped inspire and pave the ...

I agree with the majority of posters here. Fresh is best. I had two cycles. The first was with frozen MS sperm. While it resulted in a BFN, I had a good fertilization rate. The embryologist did note that I had no motility at defrosting, and strange shaped heads. For the second cycle, I chose to go with a fresh cycle. I had a similar fertilization rate, and...

I have a little less than three weeks left until the new baby. My dresser and crib are at the store for pick up. I went to get them this morning, but the crib would not fit in the back of my SUV. It is huge! I did bring the dresser home. DH has no idea that he will be assembling it tonight! Can't wait to get the crib. Just need to finish the quilt, window ...

I had my 35 week appointment today! Everything looks good. They are putting me on a monitor to check the baby when I go because I failed the one hour GD test (I passed all of the 3 hour test). The baby did great. I am measuring 37 weeks, which worries me a little because just a week ago I was measuring right on. We only have a little over three weeks until my c-sectio...

I just realized that exactly one month from today, I will be holding my baby! Very exciting, and a bit terrifying. I am totally and completely not ready. However, I will say that my boys toys, clothes and rooms have never been so organized! :)
I hope that I will be inspired to finish this week.

I have responded to the Good experience post, because overall, my experience was great with GIVF. However, I will say that I was not terribly impressed with the athetics of the actual procedure rooms. I thought (compared to my OB's office, local clinic and other doctor's offices) the procedure rooms were dated. While there were beautiful flat screen monitors, the examination tabl...

I had a great experience at GIVF. They were incredibly responsive during my first cycle that I did with frozen MS sperm. I was scheduled to go to HRC, then last minutes had to change course, and GIVF took over and scheduled me for MS "deposit" the following month. There was no need for additional testing or for another consult. For my second cycle, I worked very closely wit...

I am so glad that I am not alone. What did I do today- went through and organized my boys toys. I just can't seem to get on task. I was planning to paint the baby's glider to match the furniture that I have not bought! :) O well. Maybe next week, I will be able to get some stuff out of the way.

I am over 33 weeks and have not prepared at all. I just got the baby's room painted last week, but the family has been mowed down with swine flu this week. I just keep finding other things to do, like decorating my boys rooms, organizing toys, decorating other rooms of the house. I don't even have an infant car seat for my baby, much less the crib, dresser or anything else I had ...
