Hi guys,
Just poking my head in to let you know about a couple of really important articles I just read regarding folic acid...
Firstly, taking folic acid and B12 supps may raise your risk of cancer.
http://www.webmd.com/cancer/news/20091117/folic-acid-b12-may-increase-cancer-risk
Secondly, taking folic acid supps late in pg may raise your baby's risk of asthma.

Haven't read the article, but I am thinking... if real, successful swaying could be accomplished by lay people, it would have been packaged up and sold to us years ago.
And/or, we'd be seeing much better swaying stats/anecdotes on IG.
So I'll still count myself in the non-believer camp. ;)

The problem is, most of us only attempt swaying after having 2-3-4 or more of the opposite gender. So we (and hubbies) personally are probably a lot more 'set' for producing a kid of that gender than the average person is. You are not dealing with a pure representative sample on InGender, in fact you're dealing with a set of extremes. It's not unreasonable to expect tha...

This is one thing I would not worry over, it was set in you before you were even born and there's no changing it.
Keep in mind that even women who are higher in testosterone can and do have daughters.
PS - my index finger is def. just a hair shorter than my ring finger.

I can too, and I am really super accurate as well. I think it's a combo of both, plus environmental factors.
I'm glad you posted this, I'm not the only crazy one out there!![:P]

Not just in the mornings!!!!
I see people are still saying it only matters in the mornings. It matters all day long!!
By keeping your blood sugar on the low side as much as you can (especially during the 2ww), you are giving your pink blastocyst as many hours out of the day as is possible for it to divide in its preferred, low glucose environment. You don't need&...

Can you help me understand what this means:
There is good evidence that R, the ratio of the lengths of the second (2D) and fourth (4D) fingers (where R=2D/4D) correlates negatively with men's testosterone concentrations (Manning et al. 1998, Manning 2002). According to the author's hypothesis, it was predicted that men's R values should correlate negatively...

Sorry, I realize that this is not the right place for this link but there have been several people on the GD board who have repeatedly stated that there is no science behind swaying, and since those people don't generally venture onto the swaying board, I thought it best to post it on both boards.
This is a free, full text article from the Jo...

And anyone else who might be interested.[:P]
This is a free, full text article from the Journal of Endocrinology that compiles dozens, if not hundreds of studies dealing specifically with gender ratio and parental hormone levels at time of conception. It's basically a list of every theory ever put forth regarding hormones and gender ratio and the statistical evidence supporting those theori...

For those of you who are pg and scared of contracting the swine flu, I just wanted to let you know that even though it is rough, you can live through it and give you a heads up on what to look for, and some tips on how to make it through in one piece.
All last week DH and the baby were sick with a run of the mill cold, which we were all expecting to catch. So when my oldest son came do...

You need to read the FAQ before you do anything at all, there are many, many other things to consider besides timing to give yourself the best chance to conceive your boy.

DS 1 was a one time shot only a few days after AF, so abstain with long cut off, maybe even as long as 5 days.
DS 2 we were trying so frequent BD, but then DH changed his mind a few days before I ovulated, so frequent BD with a cutoff of at least 3 days.
(Wish I could remember these more clearly in terms of number of days, but they were several years ago.)
DS 3 was frequent BD with a...

Hoping, I hope you will read the following link - http://www.ingender.com/XYU/Odds/Gender_Odds.aspx
This is a statistical analysis of how likely you really are to have a third girl. Yes, you are slightly more likely to have a third girl after having two, but only by a very small percentage, and swaying DOES help to put the odds into your favor. And if you did have a third girl an...

I had this so bad with DS 3 it was ridiculous. I ended up taking 1/2 a zyrtec only when I absolutely completely could not stand it.
The crazy thing is, this pg I have not had allergies much at all, even my normal seasonal allergies. Each pg is so different!!!

Do you have a tipped uterus? That can make it really hard to go to the bathroom in the first tri because the uterus is pulling on the bladder and urethra. If you think this could be an issue, just make sure you go to the bathroom every hour on the hour and even set your alarm and get up a couple of times at night to go. If you let your bladder get too full, you won't be able to g...

I have already had three and I will prob have at least 3 more before the end, it's because of medical need unfortunately and so it is covered by ins.
It is funny because when my older two were born they didn't even do ultrasounds unless they thought something was seriously wrong!!

Even 70-75% may be high. I'd really say it's lower because we do not know the actual chances that we could have had a certain gender before we did these things. And not everyone is using the exact same methods either. Some use lime, some use replens, aci-jel, or nothing. There are just too many variables to measure everything equally. And l...

wow! complete opposite of what faq tells to do! Interesting! I am so oblivious, I have no idea how in any way I conceived my dc. I did not pay attention to diet and timing, (although looking back I think they were kinda shettles ), I wish I had paid more attention to those things and I wouldn't be trying so hard to figure it all out now. lol

Tamara would say that everything you take away from your sway, the less your sway will be overall.
But I believe more in the 80-20 rule...you get 80% of the results from 20% of the effort, and to get that last 20% of the results you have to expend 80% of the effort. I really think that month of conception and moon phase is def. in that 20% that take so much effort for so little results that...
