Re: Dealing with comments

We just had our first and kept the gender a secret, mostly because of GD.  When people would ask "boy or girl" I would quickly say, "it's a baby!" or "it's one or the other" and try to imply that they were asking a silly question.  These replies usually changed the subject from gender.  I'm sorry that you have to deal with these insensitive comments.  I wil...

Re: Baby is nearly here

[Y] I agree.  Two weeks ago I gave birth to our first, a daughter, and as my husband and I have talked about our GD for months I do understand what you mean Saddad, although it is sexist and whiny.  My husband is the same way! I will tell you that my husband is captivated by our daughter and although he still longs for a son, he wouldn't trade our little one for anything.  I think...

Re: It's already happening...

I absolutely loathe when people try to predict what's growing inside YOUR body.  It makes me want to predict what's going on inside their body.. maybe some athersclerosis?  I find out tomorrow (by delivery!) if this is my son or not.. and everyone at my work has been betting on girl and calling it my little girl. I don't think it can be bad karma to hope for something and I think that y...

Re: Sad day for me.....

You have every right to cry.  It sounds like you're family is being really obnoxious and not helpful.  Do they know that their comments hurt you?  If I were in your position I would have to say something to my MIL. That being said, you have my "dream family."  I can only dream of having one son let alone three.  Although they may not wear pretty dresses I hope that y...

abnormals?

why is it that so many abnormals are found during IVF/PGD? the rate of abnormals seems to be much higher than what would naturally occur?

question about abnormals

why are there so many abnormal embryos found during PGD?? It seems crazy how common they seem... is there a reason for this?   Thanks!

Re: My first injection

try taking 600 mg ibuprofen 45 minutes prior. (at least that's what I do for patients before giving a shot!)  ..unless ibuprofen is somehow contraindicated!

Re: why did you choose IVF/PGD vs. swaying

I am a newbie too!  My DH and I are planning to go HT in about a year.  We want to go high tech because this will be our last child.  We thought about swaying - but that isn't free - and then if you get an opposite you have one more child to raise which in the long run is more expensive that PGD/IVF.

PGD IUI

is it possible to have PGD done with an IUI?

denial

A week ago my DH and I found out we are expecting a DD.  We decided to keep it a secret, both of us were hoping for a DS and I personally am not ready for people to say things like "oh I knew it was a girl" or for anyone to give me anything "pink." My DH and I occasional bring up the gender in private but I have been trying not to talk about the baby as much, and while he's being really...

question for you..

I'm hoping you can help me with my neurosis [:)] If a potty shot shows three lines at 13 weeks, 2 days.. could the baby still be a boy? Thank you!!!!

so nervous...

My US is scheduled for Monday.  My nub wasn't very clear and received a mix of guesses.  The tech at 13 weeks used the potty/toilet shot to say she saw three lines.  I have almost convinced myself that she was wrong because she used the potty shot view rather than nub shot.  I am really freaked out, I want a son so badly.. when the tech at 13 weeks said girl I was crushed and ...
