Hi ladies,
I've now been refused a Gonal F prescription by 3 different doctors in Australia, which leaves me looking at an astronomical meds bill from the USA. Does anyone know of a GP or specialist in Sydney or Melbourne who would be willing to prescribe meds at a first appointment? Or does anyone have leftover meds that they'd like to sell? Or can anyone get a repeat filled and send it to me ...

Hi Baabaa,
I found a GP in both cities who said they would help me, but now that I need meds prescribed, they don't seem to be able to, which is very frustrating. Depending on your protocol, you should be able to do the monitoring in Australia before you go over. I'm doing mine with SIVF, but there must be somewhere in Melbourne. Sorry I can't be more helpful :(
PS. If anyone knows of a GP i...

Are you there perfi? I tried to private message you, but realized I need a Gold membership, and I think there's a problem with them at the moment. I'd love to be able to keep in touch with you!

Yay for May! My final ultrasound @ HRC happens to fall on my birthday, so I'm taking it as a positive sign! Will you be staying in Laguna Hills? When will you be flying over? Let's keep in touch so we can share our stories, hopefully both with happy endings!

[quote user="justonelittlefairy"]Hi thanks for the quick response!! I got a few more questions if you dont mind.
Who did you do pretest/scans with and who provided your meds and at what cost?
So 17k USD should cover a complete cycle inlcuding flights accomodation and any fees for theatre whilst at the clinic? this is about £10.500 GBP.
Is laguna hills a hotel close to the clinic? do you ha...

Hi perfi, at this stage I'm booked to have ER on 18th May. How about you? I don't have my meds yet because I'm still waiting on some final blood/ultrasound results before Dr.Potter decides on a protocol. Getting excited though!

Hi ladies, I was just wondering if anyone else here is going to HRC in May/June 2011? I'd love to stay in touch with anyone else who's going through the same thing at the same time! Good luck to you all.

Hi Annie, I've had my consultation and pre-testing done with Dr Potter and am going to cycle in May! When are you planning for? It would be great to keep in touch with some other IG ladies who are going at the same time...

Hi Chooks, yes I found a GP who was willing to help me even when I was honest with him about what I was doing, which makes things a lot easier. I've also decided to cycle with Dr.Potter, since he specialists in gender selection. Thanks for your help!

Hi ladies, I'm also going to contact Dr.Potter too. Did you email or call Lori/Susanna? I tried to contact the office via the consultation form on the website, but haven't received a reply yet. Good luck!

Hi Annie, I've been asking the same thing but haven't received any responses yet. I've had a phone consultation with Dr.Kolb, and he seems very nice, but I don't know anything about his success rates, which concerns me. The results I've found on Google are all very positive, but not directly related to PGD. Let's stay in touch and see if either of us get an answer!

Thanks anyway Chooks! it's proving to be more difficult than I thought to get the meds prescribed. Are you in Melbourne by any chance? I'm originally from there, and since I return often, could possibly get a prescription from a doctor there (if you know one who's willing). We're going without kids. You? Who are you cycling with? At this stage I'm going with Dr.Kolb (Pasadena clinic), although...

Thanks for your response Chooks. I've contacted Sydney IVF, and they're willing to do monitoring, but they can't prescribe meds unless I'm cycling under the care of one of their doctors (which I'm not, because I'm going to HRC). Do you know a GP who'd be willing to write the relevant prescriptions? Thanks again!

Hi Ladies,
I'm having trouble finding a GP/Ob/Gyn to help me with pre-testing and monitoring (since I'm not actually infertile), because I obviously can't tell them that I'm doing PGD for gender selection. Has anyone here found a helpful doctor in this department? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I'm planning to travel HRC in May!
Thanks in advance...

I've also read good things about Dr.Kolb @ HRC, has anyone here cycled with him?

I recently had a phone consultation with Dr.Kolb @ HRC, and although he seemed very nice, I was wondering if anyone else here has done PGD with him? Does anyone know his success staistics? Thanks!

FYI: I spoke to Dr.Kolb @ HRC, and he assured me that there are no such restrictions on PGD for gender selection.

Are there restrictions regarding gender-balancing PGD @ HRC? For example, do I need to already have a child of the opposite gender?

Hi fellow Sydneysiders,
Unfortunately I haven't found a sympathetic GP yet, so if either of you can help in that department, I would be eternally grateful! I'll be having a phone consult with Dr Potter some time next week.
On a different note, I've tried to contact S.A.R.T in Bangkok a few times already, but no reply....anyone else had the same experience?
GL!!!
