Re: Welcome twin girls!

I did use SIRM NY but I consulted and was monitored by Dr. Browne in the Westchester office- 30 minutes north of Manhattan (which is closer to me) the retrievals and transfers are done by Dr. Tortoriello and Dr. Wang... Everyone is fantastic I wish I would've used them years ago!!!!!!!!

Re: OMG I still can't believe it!

Thank you Ladies, I am praying for the best! @Dream4purple- I hope that you are next! You are cycling this month?? @LovestheOcean- Yes I used SIRM-NY on 5th avenue. I actually consulted and was monitored at the Westchester office by Dr. Browne since it is closer to home and the retrieval and transfers are done in Manhattan by either Dr. Tortoriello or Dr. Wang. Yes I would absolutely recomme...

Re: OMG I still can't believe it!

You all know my story by now, this was the first transfer attempt with my 3rd clinic SIRM-NY/Westchester.. had my first sono today, measuring a day ahead with a heartbeat.. I am shocked, happy, scared and fearful as I didn't check all the chromosomes I only tested for the single gene disorder (NF1) and gender because Reprogenetics said it would take up to 12 weeks to redesign m...

OMG I still can't believe it!

I still can't believe that after 3 years, 3 different clinics, 10 cycles this has F-I-N-A-L-L-Y happened to me

Re: hello!

I am doing well, still on the bandwagon, I seriously need a new hobby this one is way too expensive!! How is your blood pressure? Everything stable now I hope!!

Re: Here we go again- anyone know a way to improve egg quality? quantity?

I was thinking the same thing as dream4purple, I have never heard of anyone using this clinic for gender on these sites?? It sounds like my first RE who really was treating me like a regular IVF patient not PGD patient.. She made absolutely no changes in protocol despite getting fewer eggs each time she had me on BCP, Lupron, then Bravelle & Menopur x 10-11 days and Ganirelix the last few...

Re: Anyone thinking about IVF/PGD in New York?
Thanks so much for the info! Do they do "regular" IVF at SIRM? Do you know the appox cost of a cycle? Thanks and best of luck!
Yes they do regular IVF at SIRM but what I like is that they seem to have much experience with women over 38. I am not sure what 1 cycle costs because I was only looking for a cycle package which to me was a good deal...

Re: Here we go again- anyone know a way to improve egg quality? quantity?

I am SO sorry to hear this, I totally understand and know your devastation, I am living it myself, I have done 10 cycles and no baby yet. It is totally insane, or mabye I am the insane one that keeps trying!! You are getting a low amount of eggs for PGD can I ask has your doctor attempted to change your protocal? Where are you cycling? I ask because my first RE who did not have much expe...

Re: Anyone thinking about IVF/PGD in New York?

Yes Dr. T is one of the doctors at SIRM NY there are two in the NYC office and Dr. Browne is in the Westchester office 30 minutes north, the retrievals and transfer are at the city office done by Dr. T or Dr. Wang. Below are the reviews for all three doctors, big difference from New Hope as you can see.  I have just signed on with a cycle package with them, they work well with women over 35, ...

Re: Anyone thinking about IVF/PGD in New York?

New Yorker here, I went to Dr. Braverman for 4 cycles, I was unsuccessful, he does have a package cycle and it can be used for gender selection. I have now moved and on and glad I did. Is New Hope very experienced with PGD, which lab do they use for testing? I have a friend who went for a consult there but she has not started her cycle she is not doing PGD she is 43 years old..when I ask...

Re: several cycles of pgd

Yes I agree with everyone else, I am on my 10th cycle BUT I also have huge obtacle of testing for a single gene disorder therefore it has become twice as hard for me! I am on my 3rd doctor with ALL three doctors I have worked out a 4 cycle package, yes its more upfront but reality is it probably won't work the first time or you won't have the "right" gender etc....There are some one hit wonders ou...

Re: Just pgd for gender or should I test for chromosomal abnormalities too?

Dream4purple, glad you hear you are cycling again, you have been through SO much, I hope can finally have your healthy baby.. Best of Luck!!!!

Re: Advice needed

Best of Luck, are you doing a frozen transfer? Can I ask your age??  Keep in mind that most abnormal embryos do not implant due to chromosomal conditions even if you tried "naturally".  Anyone at any age can conceive a "disabled" child. My aunt had a Down's sydrome daughter at 23 years old! My cousin had a child with cerebal palsy at age 21 then 3 years later had a child who has congenit...

Re: Feeling sad and pessimistic. Is it normal?

Whitney I am SO SO sorry, I don't know whats worse, no transfer, or transfer and BFN, I've been through both, just terrible...Will you try again? I don't even know why I keep trying I am now 40 and the odds are against me so I am basically just throwing my money away.. but I signed on for a cycle package and after that I am totally done..I know I will be extremely sad but I can't do anymore than w...

Re: Feeling sad and pessimistic. Is it normal?

Hi WhitneyThinking of you! Did you get your results yet? I received mine yesterday, disappointing, not a total failure but still worse than I expected....

Re: Feeling sad and pessimistic. Is it normal?

Best of Luck Whitney.. Please don't get hung up on numbers, My last 4 cycles with the doctor I had my best result was with the last cycle which was the least amount went to biopsy and I ended up with 2 unaffected females and had a chemical pregnancy, the one and only time I had a positve beta, I have transferred more in the past per cycle but total negative. We are on the same exact schedule, had m...

Re: Newby here starting IVF/PGD in April anyone else is too?

Good Luck Whitney! We are Cycle buddies, my potential egg retrieval could also be on 2/15/13. I think I have completely lost my mind I still can't believe I am going through another cycle I need an intervention!!

Re: Embryo banking

I did batch in the middle of my IVF madness, One cycle we had only 5 embryos on day 2 so I chose to freeze them at day 2, I got a period and next period started another cycle, got 5 embryos out of that cycle, we sent 9 (one did not make the thaw) to PGD, we had 3 girls to transfer from that bunch( my numbers are skewed as we are ALSO avoiding a genetic condition so females with genetic c...
