Re: Done and considering surgery

Sounds interesting... I will have the sling procedure done for my bladder. I am weighing whether or not to have the partial hysterectomy done as well. My cycles are horrible and cramping for 2 weeks. As of yesterday I thought I may just do the bladder for now, but today I got my first period since dd was born August 1. I am not happy about it, but it explains why I have felt so crummy late...

Re: Surgery?

I had a bladder study done last week and have some problems when I try running. Yikes! Since ds #3 was born it hasn't been the same. I am also going to have the hysterectomy done because my cycles are so long and the cramping is horrible. Since no more kids for me it seems worthless to menstrate each month.

Surgery?

Wondering if anyone here has had there bladder worked on and/or a partial hysterectomy? I am planning on having both done by the end of the year and would love to here some experiences. By the way...I am very very very happy to family have a complete family! I knew all along that 5 would be it for us and I have not had one hope for another pg. I AM WAY DONE and blessed!

Done and considering surgery

Well, I am definately done having anymore children. I feel more than blessed to have 5 healthy children, not to mention finally having a dd to complete our family. I know I will need to have some bladder work done and I am considering having a partial hysterectomy done at the same time. Anyone else done this or going to?

Spending time with dh?

Gosh, last night I tried to calculate when dh and I might get a night out by ourselves again...In maybe a year? We own our own business and funds are tight right now and getting a sitter for our 5 a lot. Also, I am not ready to leave our baby who is 2 months. Sometimes I feel like we don't even have time to talk other than via email during a day. Wondering what everyone else does to spend time...

Meal time

Wondering how everyone is doing there dinner time. Our house seems to be getting smaller by the minute and cooking is becoming such a chore. I've tried to make dinner when the little ones are napping lately, but sometimes I don't get to it. Also, have done paper plates when we can. I just love to cook, but do not like to do it when the little ones are running around my feet. The clean up is...

Re: Pregnancy experiences?

#1 had premature rupture of membranes at 32 weeks. Made it until 33 weeks and delivered a 4 lb. 13 oz. healthy son. Then discovered that I had a bicornate uterus. Tried to repair this, but the septum that seperates it was to thick. #2 miscarried at 7 weeks. #3 carried a breech son until 37 weeks. Born 7 lb.s 11 oz. Had a c-section and a healthy son, but cut my uterine artery and had...

Re: I wanted to knock her block off!

You've stirred up some memories for me! When I was pg with ds#4 a very young cashier asked what I was having and I said we are having another son. She said oh....when are you going to stop trying for a girl? I wanted to knock her out!

Re: Anyone overwhelmed?

Thanks! I hope your in my shoes too. I get butterflies in my belly daily when I look at her and know how much I once longed for a dd. Yep, my boys are beginning to get busy too. Baseball, scouts and now piano.

Re: Anyone overwhelmed?

Thanks everyone. I had to come and check here for some inspiration. Today is another tough day. My main trouble with the day is that our new baby HATES THE CAR! I have not had this happen before. It completely stinks because I am transporting my ds to preschool 3 times a week. She screams the whole way even if she is tired. Any suggestions? I am thinking I should use her swaddling blanke...

Re: Anyone overwhelmed?

Gosh.....Thanks! Sometimes I think, oh crap what have I done? It's nice to know that others feel this way too. I think I do feel badly that I am not able to give individual time to my boys. I do have the dearest dh in the world and he gives 100% to them and me. But sometimes I compare myself to families of 2 or 3 and see what they do and wish I could do the same. I am always hard on myse...

Anyone overwhelmed?

Wow...I am needing some positive words here. I know that my baby is only 6 weeks old and dh just got back from a week long work trip, but I am feeling overwhelmed. I'm trying to remind myself that it takes a while to get back into the swing of things with school starting, but boy is it busy! It seems most of the posts on here a filled with positive words and I think I just need to hear some...

Re: How do you keep all your kids from getting sick?

I love this topic! I am a serious freak when it comes to cold and flu season. We live in MN and cannot get out that much during the winter. Last year we were hit with the stomach flu TWICE! One of my boys had to be hospitalized. The tummy stuff is what gets us every year. I like what someone said about having a sick room. I am also trying to stress hand washing first before hand gel. Our...

Re: Misconceptions of big families

I love that people automatically assume we are rich. The girl cutting my hair the other day said, " gosh I don't know how you do it with 5, I couldn't have anymore because of work and we are not made of money." Yikes! I could have gone off, but I didn't want her to screw up my hair.

I'm new here too!

Wow! I love to that I found this forum. I have visited many of the other forums here...ivf/ms/pgd....low tech...due date buddies and now I think I've offically graduated to the Big families forum. I am a mom with 4 ds and 1 dd who is 5 weeks old. We will not be having anymore children, but feel more very blessed with our 5! Can't wait to get to know everyone here!

My news! MN girls take note...

Well, I am a former poster here on the MS site and I am pleased to announce that I now have my dd. If you look at my stats at the bottom of the screen you can see I tried one IVF/PGD attempt and failed. I longed for a dd since 2002 when I started researching ways to sway whether it be high tech or low. After 4 ds and 2 m/c we now have our dd! I am not here to promote low tech, which is w...

Re: Uterine prolapse, anyone ?

She must have to wear extra extra protection all the time! Did you know you had uterine prolapse before your 6 week? I think I am scaring myself silly with having this along with the bladder thing. I am scared I will have to have a big surgery and have to wait until I am done bf. I need to exercise! And with our dd being our last I will not stop bfing until she is ready.

Re: Closing a chapter of your life ....

I do feel the same way. It makes me feel OLD in a way. It was always so much fun knowing that I would get pg again, however now it does leave me a bit empty. On the other hand, I know in my heart I am done. I cannot take another pg in body and mind. Nor would I put my family through the stress again. I too feel so blessed that I have my dd and my heart goes out to those who still long for th...

Re: Uterine prolapse, anyone ?

Gosh.....I haven't heard about this! However, I'm sure I probably have it too after 5 children. I know I am going to have some bladder work done and I am counting the days until my 6 week check to schedule this. Are you having any problems with this?

Re: How are the new mommies?

WOW....I am with you with school starting. That's a whole other thing to deal with. We don't start until Sept. 10, so I have some time. My boys are great with her, but I'm finding like you that my 2 year old will start raiding the cabinets when I am nursing. Yikes. So happy to report I do not have the tears like I did with ds #4. I was scared I would get this again but I've only had a f...

How are the new mommies?

Wondering how everyone is adjusting to their new ones? Things are crazy here with 5 children in tow. Evelyn sleeps well, so I don't feel too tired. Patience is thin come 5 p.m. and my recovery is almost complete.

18 Aug 2009 10:39 PM

Evelyn has arrived!

Our most adorable addition Evelyn arrived August 1, 2009. My water broke about 8:30 on the 31st and she arrived naturally at 2:30 a.m. All went well and I am so pleased to have a happy ending to our family. It's somewhat bitter sweet that she is our last, but my body must be done delivering babies. She is our 7th pg with 5 healthy children here with us. How can we be so lucky? A huge tha...
