And that is what I always want to do...encourage others, because it changed my life. I wish more people would go to adoption as first choice instead of second! I am always thankful I chose adoption over MS (although a disclaimer, I believe MS is a wonderful choice!)
And thank you for the compliment, I do think they are all beautiful but I am slightly biased ;)

What a horrible shame, but Russia just shut down all adoptions. Its all due to politics, Russia is retaliating agianst USA, and they are sacrificing thousands of lives of little kids. A true crime :(

Wish I could help but I am not familiar with adoptions from Canada. I would join a few yahoo adoption groups and ask around...
Good luck!

SO AWESOME! Congrats on this big step!!
I have no idea how or where to adopt when you live in Canada but I am sure you will find out.
Adoption gave me a great life and now I have my dream family because of it too. Needless to say, adoption ROCKS! :)
Can't wait to share in your journey to a daughter!

Thank you guys! I cant believe it has been a year since that last post. My Abby continues to amaze me every day. She is the most precious thing, more like me than any of my birth children are, LOL! She is loving having her sister. I cant say enough good things about adoption. We adopted out of order this time and it was fabulous. This morning I watched 4 of my kids walk into school (I have 4 kids ...

This morning the kids are still all sleeping so I thought I would check and voila! there it is!As a re-intro, I am Seegal, I have 9 amazing children. 6 bios and 3 through the wonderful miracle called adoption. We just reopened our home through foster care (where our last child came from) to anoth...

You gotta have HOPE and then be ready to ACT on it! I know you have it in you. Keep your eye on that "prize"!! You can do it, you really can.
can't give you the numbers to lottery tickets or promise you wealth, good health and happiness. But I can say that adopting a daughter IS within your reach!

The China SN program is a fabulous one. WACAP is a fabulous agency with a stellar reputation, and they have spots open for this program!

Ooooooh, that is easy! I can tell you all about that!!! I adopted Abigayle to "cure" my GD! I can tell you 100000000% that she not only CURED my GD (and my family's GD for a sister) but she made me a better person, better mother, better wife, better everything. She rounded out our family and opened us up to a world of dolls, bows, dresses, love, hope, faith and all things AMAZING.
My GD...

The SW should be on the posting, so CALL her (don't just EM) and tell her you are just following up to see if your HS was faxed in.

I'm afraid it is just by state. :(
How about getting a private HS and then registering with adoptuskids? You can take the PRIDE classes with CPS, because all agencies like to see that if adopting an older child/ren, and getting a private HS (which takes waaaaaay faster than state ones) and then you can try to adopt a child already "free" for adoption through the state. (Totally free of cost and ...

I thought you spoke to someone before and they said it was OK?? That is horrible, I am so sorry :( Yes, it does vary by state, our state allows 6 (although like I said you can get a space waiver).
That just sucks.

It didn't let you PM me? Thats odd...EM me SA 3 at aol.com (no spaces, obviously).
Sounds like space is not an issue, put the boys where you need to and she can have her own room.
Yes, we did classes first, almost everyone does. Do not worried about not passing the HS. It is VERY rare that you don't pass, and mostly it is because you have things in your past that you are not upfront ab...

Yeah, I have my doubts if he is "really" open to international adoption, or if it is something he is giving lip service to since it's too late. (Or if it's not, he will make sure it doesn't work for one reason or another, just like with everything else.)

Pooh- my heart is hurting for you. PLEASE do not give up.
I have heard of case workers doing that...when a fit isn't right they "punish you", but they are not allowed to do that! What state are you in? Go over their heads (but remember to always be so sweet you are sticky!) Go to the supervisor, and if that does not work go to the home office (most likely in the capital of your state) and call ...

You have to see what your state guidelines say. Some states they stop at 5 and some stop at 6. (Our state is 6, yours sounds like it is too). You can get a waiver depending upon bedrooms and space, like we did (we have over 4000 sq feet, 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms plus 2 offices.)
If you have 3 bedrooms upstairs and no kids downstairs (they will not let a foster kid sleep on...

PS- my best advice is take it one step at a time and be prepared for it to take longer than you think. It might not, but expect the worst, that way you won't be dissapointed. :)
I have a private blog, if you want to read about our journey then PM me and I will let you in!

That is AWESOME!!! I have many many friends who have done foster/adopt and ALL of them have evenutally adopted! Some on the "first" try some it took a few kids to find the "keeper".
We are currently "foster/adopting" a beautiful 6 yr old little girl. She was only supposed to stay a few weeks but her biomom has already lost her weekly supervised visitation and the aunt who wanted to adopt her...
