Hmmmm, weird. I do not remember it costing money at all when I was pregnant. I dont' -think- they even had those donation buttons going on. They must have gotten really big.My little guy spent a lot of time switching where his rump was. It was mostly on my right, but would switch to my left every few days. I think it's pretty normal. I ended up having most...

Little rugrat is all over the place, and I think it might be time for a baby gate here soon. Any recommendations? 1.) I need something simple and easy to move.. I only plan to buy one to move between the kitchen entrance, livingroom or his room. The two entry ways are slightly different sizes, so it needs to be easily adjustable. 2.) I also need a more permanent one for the top o...

Spinningbabies.com has tons of great info. Since you already know that baby is ROT, the belly mapping will be easy. From there it has tons of ways to help get baby into a bette position.

Oooh, thanks for this. I'm pretty sure I've hit up every lactation consultant between here and the next city, but it's worth a shot!! [:-)]

My insurance definitely doesn't cover a pump rental. The hospital LC (I'm pretty sure she's IBCLC) had my insurance run it before I left the hospital, and they denied it. Boo. I'm just waiting on Medela to send me a new one (it's double electric, just like the one I have now). I can't sell the one I have because I'm supposed to mail it to them for inspection. I ...

Babies are much more efficient than pumps. Just because you can't pump enough doesn't mean your body isn't capable of making enough. Those first few days are crucial to building a good supply. If you can get the baby to latch, and then feed on demand, your supply should be fine. There are also things you can do to encourage a good start to breastfeeding. Skin to skin right away is...

To be honest, I thought about it... [:$] However, after all the breastfeeding/pumping issues they kind of know my story enough to know that I'm not working.

Honestly, hospital nurses don't really know too much about breastfeeding. For most places there is no certification or formal teaching about breastfeeding needed. I would really check out a certified lactation consultant and LLL. Both can work with you to help the latch. LLL will often come to your house for freeUntil you are able to see one, Jack Newman has great vide...

I'm so upset right now! We had to return my hospital pump rental because we just can't afford it anymore. I have a PISA, so my DH thought it would be okay to return the hospital pump... but the PISA just doesn't do the job for me. I find it really uncomfortable and have a hard time getting a letdown. My supply has been dropping because of this. Like majorly drop...

I just put them in heavy duty freezer bags. We had a coupon for one of those Reynolds Handi-vac sealers, so it was only like $8.00 at the time (this was about a year ago). The bags are kind of pricey, but I only really use them for storing baby food and open bags of frozen veggies. The handi-vac sucks all the air out so the food keeps better. It doesn't work as well a...

I make my own. It's cheap, easy and kind of fun. Plus, I like knowing exactly what my baby is eating. I read that some companies boil their veggies too much and that takes out a lot of the nutrients. Also, some baby foods are made up of a lot of water or thickening agents (flours and chemically modified starches). You really don't need any special baby gear to make bab...

I don't believe in medically unnecessary induction. I've done a lot of research in this area, and I think the risks are just overall too high.I had a bit of a high risk delivery, but I still waited until I went into labor naturally. There was no harm to either myself, or my baby if I waited... so I waited so that he could at least come when he was ready. If there had been r...

Drink TONS more water. A midwife I've been working with told her client (who was on her third uit) to make sure she wasn't becoming too dehydrated. I've read that dehydration can lead to a uti. Most people don't drink enough water as it is, and then when you add in pregnancy, it's even more important. Also, make sure to empty your bladder frequently (which isn't hard when y...

Yes, but you'd be getting up and down a LOT less in a wheel chair. Instead of having to get up and get copies, you could wheel yourself over there. And even if you were at home, you'd still have to get up for things like using the bathroom.

How much are you going to need to use it? If you just want something for engorgement, or the occasional bottle for an evening out.. then it's cheap but will be okay. If you are going back to work and need to pump a few bottles for daycare, then this isn't going to hold up. If you plan on having more kids and want a double electric, the Medela PISA works great. If you don't ...

Yes, it is possible. However, towards the end it was too hard to reach over my big ole belly. I don't have any of them saved, but there are a few websites that will show you how. I told my DH that next time I'm pregnant, he is going to learn how. I found out my doctor lied to me during labor about how far I was dilated... so even though I plan to have a homebirt...

No, and I don't mean to sound harsh, but it's not a good idea to lie to your doctor anyways. Especially for things like disability. I'm sorry your having such an awful time. SPD sucks hardcore. Like the PP mentioned: have you asked about crutches or a wheelchair? It could make a world of difference. Have you thought about switching doctors? You might find ...

You still bleed a lot after a c-section, so I assume it would be passed with the lochia and any blood clots.

I know someone that is going to be using them when her dd is born. I checked online and the price was a LOT cheaper than any diapers that I have. I'm tempted to order a few, but I was curious to see if anyone had used them before.
