Hi girls, i am planning on travelling for IVF/PGD, in June, and I am trying to book my accomadation. My clinic have not given me any dates yet, (we have the consult in early may) so it is hard to predict the days. I realise that depending on how you react to the meds can make a difference on when you trigger and when egg retrieval will occur. I'm just wondering if those girls that have done IVF co...

We also own our own business, so its going to be hard enough for DH to get away when we have to travel for the IVF. I wish I could tell my DH's family (who are the only family we have close by) but I have bought it up just in converstaion before, and they think it is against 'God's plan.' My mum knows and is supportive but lives too far away to help. My second son is autistic, so it's not easy to ...

I am just beginning my pre-cycle testing and have found out that they do not do same day blood tests or ultrasounds where I live. I live in a small country town. I am going to have to travel and hour and a half for all these tests which is going to be very difficult when I start actually doing my cycle. I dont know how I'm going to manage this with my three boys because we are not telling anyone. ...

We are putting it all on the good old credit card. We feel it is worth it, some people go into debt for a nice car or nice house because that is their dream, our dream however is a girl!
Good Luck!

Im not sure what happened the, I typed out response and it dissapeared! Here we go again:
My ultrasound is to check ovarian volume, number of follicles and to rule out fibroids. it says " Cycle days 5-9", do you think that it may just be in- between those days and not all of them? I hope so that would be heaps easier.I Know Im going to have to ring and ask its just that I dont want to annoy ...

I am due to cycle in June, and am just having all my pre-testing done now. I need to have ultrasounds from day 5-9 of my cycle. The trouble is those days fall on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, when no clinics are open.
What do you do when your dates fall on weekends or public holidays. Do you just have to wait for a cycle that fits in during the week?
Thanks so much for any advice!!

I really dont want to sound mean or insensitive, but I read your other thread about you not wanting your baby, and I'm just wondering if you are sort of clutching at straws, becuase maybe you are somehow hoping this will go away, or the test will be wrong. As the other women have said every pregnancy is different, and the line looks fine to me.
Good Luck!

He is cute!!!
Lol.. Yes, I see the doctor that delivered my 1st son all the time. He lives on our street. We live in a small country town, so when I chose an obstetrian, I purposely didnt pick him, but then of course my labour went for 36 hours so my doc went home and he took over! Now everytime we drive down the street and he's in his yard, I think to myself.. that guy has seen my Vagi...

Hi,
They just ran a story about the ethics committe currently deciding whether to overturn the ban. They had one of the head IVF docs on and he was saying that most IVF docs support it,
Fingers crossed!!

I am after any info about CGH. I will be doing IVF/PGD in June at Sydney IVF. Instead of using FISH, they are now using CGH which can screen all chromosomes not just a few, (something like that,I dont pretend to know what it's all about[:$])
Anyway instead of a fresh transfer they have to freeze the embryo, because it can take longer than the normal screening.
Does anyone know how long...

For me it helped to find out earlier so I could prepare myself. Because I had tried to sway with my third son, I really thought he was a girl. My imagination got the best of me and I had her whole life planned, name picked etc. So for me it was better to find out and stop myself imagining my life with daughter.

I could have also written this post just over a year ago, but as others have said, we can now not imagine life without our little boy! I was also mad at god, we had numerous health problems with our first two boys so I thought that god would reward us for ourhard work with a girl. I now think that maybe gods plan for me is to have more children, and maybe he knew I would stop once I got my girl.Ma...

Thanks so much ladies! I was a bit worried I wouldnt be able to book flights, acoomadation etc until I had had my trigger shot, so it's nice to know I can be a bit more organised, and hopefully things will be a little cheaper!!
Good Luck with your cycles [:-)]

Hi, I am about to embark on the IVF/PGD journey in June. I will need to travel for this so we would like to make it a family holiday. My question is how did those who travelled book their accomodation and flights without knowing the ER or ET dates. Do they usually give you an approximate time depending on your cycle.
My consult with the doctor isnt until mid March, so I cant ask her till th...

I cried in the ultrasound with my second son, so when it was time for my third ultrasound, my DH and I decided to get it written down so we could open in private. I fantasized that we would open it over a romantic dinner and we would both be so happy becuase we had such a good sway, it would have to be a girl!
Well we ended up opening it in the car, we just couldnt wait, it said BOY!! I left the ...

Yes!! A friend of mine on facebook was told boy three times and gave birth to a girl. Unfortunately for me she used my girl name, so it broke my heart because I so wanted that delivery room shock to happen to me!! There you go though, apparently it can happen!

After obsessing about it since I was pregnant with my third son, its finally time to get the IVF/PGD ball rolling. Im so nervous about ringing the clinic.Im not sure completely why. Everytime I pck up the phone I hang it back up! I thought when the time came I would be so ready! Has anyone been so anxious and ready to do it but just cant take that first step??

I had this problem too. Any names I liked were taken by friends. I looked in baby books at my favourite names and then found other versions. For example I loved Caleb but it was too popular in my local playgroup so I changed it to Kalen, which I love and get lots of complements on.
If I was to have another boy, I would name him Ashton!
