Has anyone used sperm sorting in conjunction wtih PGD in NY to increase the ratio of the desired gender? If so, can you tell me if it helped? Where did you do the sort? Thanks!

So what is the difference between ACGH and GSN. I have read that day 3 acgh can be unreliable for gender, but why isnt that so for GSN and why are not more people or faciltiies using GSN -- can you get test results in time for a fresh transfer??

Could have there been an amplification problem or issue and they just guessed on the gender of that embryo?

OMG! Any update yet? How do they explain this mistake? Did you do 3 day acgh?

Yes, isnt there something so magical about the 3rd boy? I cant believe all the tears i wasted crying when i was pregnant with him. He lights up my every day, is an angel and just brings so much happiness into my life. I am so happy for you and thrilled! I wish you the best of luck and hope to be in your position soon. Do you know if they biopsied the embryo on day 3 or day 5 and how many chromosom...

I asked my RE today about assisted hatching. he said since you are biopsying the embryo, you are basically assisting it in hatching and that you dont really assist hatch embryos on day 5 in any other way. ALso he made it sound like the percentage of abnormals i would get on day 3 if i did 24 chromosome testing would outnumber the number of embyos i'd lose waiting until day 5. He urged that day 5 e...

My RE never discussed assisted hatching with me. That is very strange. I remember signing a waiver or form saying that i didn't want it but noone even discussed it with me. I didnt want ICSI and signed a form for that as well. I guess i was trying to leave things as natural as could be.
I didn't transfer the female. She is frozen. I have no hope that she is going to take. I just feel like i have...

Whats AH - do you mean ACGH? My concern is the percentage of self correction from the embryos. It seems like if you are going to do day 3, its better to test minimally -- but geez, i would want to do everything to reduce a miscarriage rate. I did talk to My Re and another RE at the clinic and both still believe that day 5 is the best way to go if i am a high responder. I also prefer not biopsying ...

PS i was going to do a day 5 fresh -- but most of the time embryos are not ready on day 5 to be biopsied -- they havent reached the appropriate stage so they were mostly biopsied on day 6 and if that is the case, you have to freeze.

I had a lot of eggs and went with day 5, but i lost a ton getting to day 5 and was very disappointed when all that survived were boys except for 1. I liked the idea of 24 chromosome testing to minimize my chance of a miscarriage or loss later down the road....but thats just me. That was my main decision in doing day 5 and also that I liked the idea of not impacting the actual embryo developing wit...

hi!! Please pm me on gender dreaming as I'd love to chat. Also keep me posted as to what your RE at RMA says. Thanks!!
Part of the reason or a main reason why I prefer day 5 is to reduce my miscarriage rate. I was told that at NYU, day 5 decreases your miscarriage rate significantly.
Why did we lose so many at NYU? i wonder if their culture is good enough.

CJ100 -- are you on gender dreaming?
At NYU, they really pushed day 5 biopsies -- said it reduces the miscarriage rate and said might was well transfer the best and healthiest embryos...so i followed that advice and did the day 5 biopsy. I lost a ton of embryos waiting till day 5 so now I feel so torn. I do like the 24 chromosome testing, but i do feel upset that I lost so many waiting till day...

Is there anyway i can private message you to discuss. I just cycled at NYU. Just did 5 day biopsy cycle. How could the miscarriage rates be higher when you are transferring back ones that are supposed to be chromosomally healthy?? I was told that the miscarriage rates was significantly reduced by going to day 5. Would you consider acgh with a day 3 biopsy? What about all the ambryos that self co...

I don't understand how they could have made a mistake about gender! Did you use ICSI? WHat clinic did you cycle at?
Thanks so much!

Also, seems like you lost a lot of embryos by waiting to day 5 at NYU. Do you think its something that has to do with their culture medium? I lost 20 waiting from day 3 to day 5...i had 31 retrieved and 28 or 29 or so fertilized and only 9 made it to PGD. Doesnt seem like other women have the same attrition rate when trying the day 5 biopsy route.
Do you have any thoughts on this?? Did you ask wh...

Can I ask who you cycled with at NYU? I just cycled there and chose them over RMA because I didn't want to use ICSI. All of my embryos fertilized naturally without. NYU will allow you to do a fresh transfer with day 5 biopsy but your embryos need to be ready for biopsy on day 5. 8 of my 9 that went to PGD were only ready on day 6, so if i cycled at RMA or NYU, i wouldnt have been able to have a ...

I agree with Anna completely -- i had a very tough time when i was pregnant but since my little angel was born, i have never felt disappointed. He lights up my life and i thank G-d for him every day. I didnt think i'd feel this way when i was pregnant and really couldn't imagine it bc i felt so devastated and depressed, but bc i was so prepared for his arrival, i was totally ok when he arrive...

I totally understand your pain. Its so so hard. I did Khatamee, didnt get pregnant and then decided to sway hard. Got pregnant and then had a miscarriage, found out it was anothe boy. Decided to go HT but then last minute tried once with swaying and conceived another boy. Was told he was a girl at first and when i found out it was anothe boy, i was beyond devastated. I spent thousands of d...
