My lo is 3 weeks old and we are suffering what I "think" is a shallow latch. She is such a calm, easy, sleepy baby, and when it comes to feed, she's just not aggressive enough I think, or too sleepy, or something. My DS at her age just attacked my breast. But she opens her mouth a little and I try to shove as much nipple as I can in there (or actually I br...

I'm 39 and just had my girl 2 weeks ago, I thought I was crazy too, but SO THRILLED and glad I did before declining fertility etc. And we conceived on the first try too (no sway, just wanted to get pregnant at the time)!! I felt just as good at 39 as I did at 29 when I had my DS. Even weathered some post-birth complications (hemorrage) quite well despite my "age".&nb...

Thanks Mom2RJA, they actually don't know why I hemmoraged. I did have placental previa during the pregnancy, it was partial at 20 weeks, and then slowly moved away in my 3rd trimester and by 37.5 weeks I was 2.3 cm away from the os. That's the technical explanation I was given, but basically they gave me the green light for a vag birth and said the placenta was no longer a...

I am so proud to announce my daughter Allie arrived on May 24th at 8:28 am. She is perfect and healthy at 8 lbs exactly. My birth story is actually long and I may have to continue it at a later date, I had a rough labour/recovery actually. Well, the labor was actually great, 6 hours total. I was actually induced because my blood pressure was getting high, but it was act...

The way things have been going for me, I'll probably be a June mom too, or close to it! I'll keep you company. My first babe was induced at 40 weeks, but I had NO signs of labor prior. I probably would have been a 42 weeker [doh]. I just can't get any good contractions going!! Babe is far too happy staying put. Plus she is STILL super high right no...

Me me! I'm still here. Had a stalled labor a few nights ago - stopped after 3 cm 70% effaced [:(]. Still waiting it out. Due date is in 3 days, so it should happen soon [pray].

I just spent the whole night at L and D, and my labor totally
stalled this morning at 3 cm, 70% effaced [:(]. I'm 39 weeks, 1 day today.
Normally I don't even get that many BH contractions, but all yesterday they were
less than 10 min apart after alot of walking and a 2 hour bumpy car
ride. At midnight I DTD with hubby hoping for some progression, ...

Over 95% of the time it moves by delivery, especially if the previa is only partial or less (complete previa's tend to not move as much). Mine was partial and didn't move away enough until the very last minute - 3 days before my scheduled section at 38 weeks [doh]. But it did move finally (after staying put for 18 + weeks). Just take it easy like the PP said - no heavy li...

My son at that age wouldn't poop in the potty either, he went diaperless all day/night, but then if he had to poop, he would ask me to put a diaper on him so he could go. He was 3 and otherwise completely trained (even at night). Well, I did this for a bit, but then it became too much of a habit and we had it out when he was close to 4. I insisted for a total week th...

I was scheduled for a section next tuesday that got cancelled, but I spent alot of time reading about sections to get prepared. I have heard that planned sections are SO much better/easier to get over because you don't have the proceding trauma/loss of sleep of labour to deal with. Recovery time is reduced and the overall experience is way less traumatic to the body and baby. &...

Now everybody's got me worried with all their cute boy/ugly girl talk!!! My son was just adorable (going through the awkward teeth too big for mouth stage now at 9 yrs old tho lol [rofl]). Always assumed my baby girl would take after her bro and be just as cute! I sure hope he didn't take all the good looks! I do secretly wish for a blonde haired baby with blue eyes lik...

AnneUCSB - I just had my c-section cancelled - I wrote about it here http://www.in-gender.com/cs/forums/t/161577.aspx Mine didn't really start moving until between 36-38 weeks, and when it did finally, it moved 1.5 cm in just 2 weeks, which is huge! There is still alot of hope for you!

I am SO HAPPY about this [:D] Went for my final ultrasound at almost 38 weeks to see if my placenta moved enough for a vag birth (I had placental previa) and JUST this week, it finally moved enough!! They will deliver normally when the placenta is 2.0 cm away from the cervix and now mine is 2.3! It moved 1.5 cm in just 2 weeks (after not having moved at all for 15 weeks) [doh]....

I see no problem - I was 38 and DH was 47 when we conceived our baby girl. First try no less! Our son just turned 9, so huge age gap there. Age gaps can be a good thing too - no sibling fighting, more of a caring relationship. The older ones will look out for the younger. And when they get older, they won't feel so far apart in age and just become...

Yes, that definately is the key, it really helps. That and avoid caffiene - it can really bring on contractions.

I too had it from 16 weeks until now at 37 weeks, doc really seemed to think I would go full term, and despite feeling otherwise, it seems I have. I haven't had it in another pregnancy tho - didn't have it with my first, but I imagine if I got pregnant again, I likely would. One thing is I have placental previa, which they say causes contractions in about 20% of those affec...

Me too. I can't believe I loved my last pregnancy and didn't want it to end. I must have been f'***n nuts. I loved the kicks and actually said I should be a surragate because I had such an easy/fun pregnancy. Well not this time - from the 16 weeks of puking morning sickness, the irritable uterus, the preterm labour scares (3 x), to the now 35 lb weight gain, no...
