Re: How to access MaterniT21 test from Toronto

As far as I know, you have to have your blood drawn and the test ordered by a doctor. I'd ask your OB/GYN or else call around and find a doctor who will order it for you.

Re: Easy DNA gender test

All urine tests that have been evaluated have been considered invalid for gender detection. On the other hand, there's a 50% chance it's right. The only reliable gender tests are CVS, amnio, ultrasound at 18-22 weeks, or MaterniT21 blood test. Any at home test is going to be as accurate as a coin flip, including the ones with the blood drops on a card.

Re: EGD board please?

Need an e-mail address, please. I'll send you the link there. You can post an e-mail you just started for this one communication, and then delete it afterwards, but I can't post the link publicly.

Re: After 3 boys and 2 failed sways - IT'S A GIRL!!!!

Also, what was your salt intake like? That chart lists salt as acidic, but all the girl sways are low salt.

Done here for a while.

I can't handle how ridiculous the GD forum has gotten, and I need to take a break. I leave here feeling more angry and depressed than when I log on, and it's not healthy. I'm sure the next few responses will be "Good riddance" or "Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out," and that's exactly why this site sucks now. This forum used to be a place for sympathy, support and understanding. P...

Re: Aci-jel?

Would one tube be enough? Or do I need more?

05 Dec 2012 5:30 AM

Aci-jel?

Anyone know how people in the US can get some Aci-jel? I know it's not sold here, so I'll have to get it over the internet. How much will I be using over a few months of swaying (assuming I don't get pregnant right away?) I want to try to avoid paying international shipping twice! It just seems to be used in more successful girl sways than repHresh or douches.

Re: MaterniT21 blood test results include info on Gender

If they don't volunteer whether a Y was detected, I would ask. If they don't tell you, contact Sequenom's customer service line directly and ask to confirm results, saying they weren't sure how to read whether a Y was detected or not. I heard they will answer you. Good luck, and I hope you get your DG!

Re: Severe gd with boy. Suffering. Please help I'm new.

JJ89, do you even have kids? I noticed your signature is all about you being an aunt. I, for one, NEVER thought I'd feel this way. I wanted one of each, but I didn't in ANY way possible feel extreme about it. Now that I have two boys, I know that this was the one combination I was not prepared for and the one I did not want at all. I was okay with two girls, preferred to have one of each, but ...

Re: MaterniT21 blood test results include info on Gender

Is that a new policy? There are women here who were told without having that prerequisite.

Re: Severe gd with boy. Suffering. Please help I'm new.

junemoon, I really wish you could just be in the EGD board now, or that I could PM you. Life with EGD is misery, and people who haven't experienced it just don't understand. I thought about purposely driving into the opposite lane of traffic after finding out that DS2 was a boy. I was devastated. I had a positively wonderful DS1, but I knew DH was as sure as he could be that he only wanted two...

Re: Really really nervous and confused - its a BFP but ..

Before you accuse me of having bad logic, maybe you should actually READ what I wrote. I said abortion was part of living in an overpopulated world, not that sex selective abortion specifically was. BTW, sex selective abortion fits into this argument, as well, because then mothers don't continue to have child after child fishing for the gender they want because they can't afford HT. Also, how i...

Re: Really really nervous and confused - its a BFP but ..

Well THAT was a post full of emotion. I get that you think it's a baby. I do. I once thought that way, too. But it's not. It the potential for a baby. It (usually) has everything it needs to become a human being. About 10% of the time it has problems that result in spontaneous abortion. That's a miscarriage. It's the same thing as abortion. Either way, potential is lost, and that really ...

Re: Severe gd with boy. Suffering. Please help I'm new.

Once again, go to the EGD board. No one judges there.

Re: Really really nervous and confused - its a BFP but ..

Laws against terminating for gender are just padding for the law books. They're totally unenforceable unless you make finding out the gender before 24 weeks illegal. All it takes is for someone desperate to get a CVS from one place, find out the gender and get the termination at another place stating that she didn't know how far along she was/is breaking up with the father/ can't afford another ...

Re: Severe gd with boy. Suffering. Please help I'm new.

I think you should request access for the EGD forum. Lots of ladies there have been through the same thing you're feeling right now. No judgement there.

Re: Back after 4 years with GD again

I am SO sorry for your GD. I get it. I don't have an autistic son, I actually have a really social and affectionate DS1, and I STILL was floored at my ridiculously over the top depression at finding out I had DS2. I also wanted to end my pregnancy, right there. I cried for weeks, I spent 2 days unable to get off the couch, I get it. 11w3/4d is REALLY early, even for a nub. The ultrasound tec...

Congrats MA! I truly hope you get the boy you've wanted so much. You have two chance for him now. Good luck :)

Re: Really really nervous and confused - its a BFP but ..

I NEVER said it was often. Once is too many times. That particular woman was in Ireland. Good luck getting an abortion even to save your life there. The issue is that once you have carried long enough to know the gender, most of the time people know and it becomes VERY difficult to come to terms with either telling people you aborted (Why? What was wrong? I thought you wanted this baby?) or ...

Re: Really really nervous and confused - its a BFP but ..

And clearly can't spell "because." Actually, I think you won't respond because you have nothing constructive to say and no reasonable argument to make.

Re: Really really nervous and confused - its a BFP but ..

And they often choose suicide rather than a gender selective abortion because of the EXTREME judgement, the stigma surrounding gender selection, and the inavailability/illegality of it. Don't you think your judgment effects people? Isn't that totally contrary to your Jesus and what he taught?

Re: Really really nervous and confused - its a BFP but ..

Once again, this is now a political debate that has NO bearing on the question posed by the OP. For those of you who INSIST on hashing this out here, I'm game. No, sex selective abortion is no more morally reprehensible than abortion to save the life of a mother. Abortion ends an unwanted pregnancy. Period. It's not about "ending a life," it's about allowing a woman to take control of hers. ...
