I am hardly ever here any more because of how slow the site has been moving, but I wanted to say I am so sorry and I hope it was just a wee bit too early.

I think CC said it best --- plan for at least 2-3 cycles. But I'd like to add to that - don't plan for it to work even with that many tries. I don't care if your doctor's success rate is 85% for your age group. If you fall into that 15%, that super successful stat doesn't mean one iota.
I went in to IVF with great pretesting numbers and 3 previous super easy conceptions.
I've now had 1 ...

[quote user="kateyk"]Before making the decision, I would need to know WHY the same thing happened twice on two different protocols. What did Dr. Lin say? Dr. P sounds like a good one to get an opinion from and I ABSOLUTELY think you should do an on-the-phone consult with Dr. Braverman just to figure it out. There HAVE to be other people out there that respond to the drugs in the w...

Yes, you understood exactly right…we get back the same amount whether we try again or not, less of course meds and PGD or GSN, which are not included in the amount already paid or the amount that would be factored into the potential refund.

[quote user="Zora Astor"]There are a couple of rules I made for myself as I started this process:
1) I would not stop until I got my DG
2) I would not do more than two unsuccessful cycles with the same ER.
Did I understand correctly that Dr. Lin is willing to offer you a third cycle virtually for free? That's a tempting offer, but I just don't know if I would want to keep doing the exact s...

The dust has settled a bit - I'm home and I'm ready to start thinking to the future. Sitting around bawling and whining about the CRAP cycle that never was just isn't doing me any good. I'm obviously not ready to make a decision TODAY, but I'm ready to start thinking about it! I'm wondering what YOU would do in my shoes. Say you're me: You've used the same RE twice and gotten the same result (pret...

I stayed at the Doubletree Irvine, which was about 4 minutes TOPS from Dr. Lin. HIGHLY recommend them. They were wonderful.

We drew another E2 and progesterone this morning and I won't have those back until tonight, and of course those will paint the bigger picture, but here's what the u/s revealed…
U/S showed 9 follicles measuring between 10 and 17 and the lead follicle that was there yesterday morning is GONE.
My thought is that I did ovulate the lead follicle sometime between yesterday morning and this mornin...

Hey Patience :) Good to "see" you! I am on the antagonist protocol this time. I've been on Follistim 375 IU and Menopur 75 IU for 8 nights, and started Ganirelix last night.
Mean! Good to "see" you too! I hope you are right….

Got the call from Dr. Lin a little while ago. After 7 nights of stims, my E2 is only 590. It was 400 after 4 days, so the jump is definitely not what we had expected or hoped for. I have 8 measurable follicles right now, with one in the lead that we will sacrifice to let the others grow/catch up. In other rotten news, my progesterone was 1.7, so starting to climb. I began Ganirelix tonight to...

Hey girls! I'm back too...gearing up for round 2. I'm headed to CA again on 1/21, with an estimated ER of 1/28. Hoping and praying for a MUCH different outcome this time! Quick recap of round 1 for those who might not know: Long Lupron protocol with HMG, ER resulted in only 3 mature eggs as a result of assumed early ovulation. Three continued to grow and were se...

Oh, honey - I get it. I really, really do. I've only had one HT failure so far and I can only imagine what I will feel like if I have just one more...and you've had four. [:(] You have every reason to feel the way you do. I am so sorry you are so down and I hope that this cycle is "the one" for you. I'm here any time you want to talk - I mean that. PM me or emai...

No advice, just hugs. I'm right there with you. I leave at the end of this month and will be in CA alone for just over 2 weeks. My boys and my hubby will be home, going about the normal day-to-day. It breaks my heart to think of not seeing them for 15 days. The longest I've ever been away is 4 days. We do have Facetime on our Mac & iPhone and I intend to use...

My mother actually works for Candlewood here locally. [HL] They are okay, no frills, but do have kitchens, which is nice. They don't have room service or a restaurant or anything like that, however, which was a negative for me. Besides that, we have points to redeem through the Hilton Honors system, as DH travels extensively for work and racks up the points! We ended up cho...

Does anyone have any recommendations about those 3 properties? Any locals have the skinny on which is best? I've narrowed it down to those three and I'm having the HARDEST time deciding where to stay!!!!!! I love that the Embassy offers a kitchenette in the room and I like the fact that it's an atrium setup, so I'd never be walking down a long or darkened corridor alone to get to...

I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing this!!! I blame it on the monkeys!!! [:S] Anywho...we'll miss each other, unfortunately. [:(] I'll be there 1/21 through 2/5, if all goes according to plan. I can't wait to see your BFP! I'll be here cheering you on for sure! [love]

Wino - We're doing GSN with Dr. Lin too! It took me FOREVER to decide, but after meeting with him yesterday we decided to just go for it. When do you start your cycle? I'm on day 2 of stims today, and will be flying out to stay in CA for a week this Thursday. ER should be Friday or Saturday, Jan 7/8. Keep me posted on your plans and...

IG is working at lightning speed right now, so I'm being optimistic and hoping that all the errors yesterday and this morning were due to maintenance on the site.

Well, we had a conference call with Dr. Lin on the 22nd about using GSN and decided to move ahead. We have a call with someone from GSN coming up and our cheek swab kit is in the mail. The tentative plan is to use GSN if we get more than 6 eggs (we better!!!) and to just stick with 5-probe PGD if we get less than 6. We're going with the antagonist protocol with no lead-in BCP, which is complet...
