Hello, and welcome, waitingforanja! I do not know how much the phone consult normally costs. I mentioned that I "knew" Dr. P from asking him question at this site, and the woman (Stephanie?) said, Oh, then the consult will be free if you were referred here from IG. I did not know that, expect that, or aks for that. It's just how the conversation played out.
Enjoy those beautiful babies! They're b...

Aaaiiieee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's awesome to see you all again! [:D][:D][:D]CC, OK on the AMH. Sounds like something to ask for. I have to take all the forms Dr. P just emailed me to my local OB-GYN anyway to get tests done. Cultured Pearl, of course I remember you! So happy for your "crappy morula"! Dr. P mentioned a patient from last month who, if she had been monitoring at home instead of...

Probably will edit/add on later. It was a good, hour-long conversation with Dr. P, with me opening with my familiarity with him from IG.He wants me to re-test all my hormone levels, in part because my doc did not test for estradiol, to see on how viable a candidate I am. He also wants to check my insulin levels because I am overweight (and I don't mean by 15 lbs) and to do an ultrasound to check t...

CC! It's so good to see you. Hope you and yours are surviving and thriving!Yes, GZ's notes are so excellent. I will try to add my own after tonight's consult, but I'm sure they won't be that meticulous.Yes, I have had some Day 3 hormones and a Day 24 progesterone test back in Nov '11, although the thread on this board about how others' numbers changed in just six months has me concerned. My ...

Can I ask where in Michigan, which center? I used to look at the options there, and I could not find a place that seemed really enthusiastic about GS.Thanks (and GL to you and all the previous posters!)WWP

I think saying that there's no point in going to HRC if there's no MS is a bit of an oversimplification. Yes, MS was a great reason to go there, and I miss the option sorely. But all those other clinics closer to home might either a) be against (or at least wary of) GS, (which is why all Canadians like the OP have to at least go out of country, so there's no quick trip for monitoring or...

You should remember me--all Canucks are supposed to know each other! ;-)TY, that was SO helpful. I will crib some of your questions about how many embies to put back. I told Stephanie already that my OB-GYN is totally non-judgy and well on board. That's why I've already done Day 3 and Day 24 hormonal tests, as mentioned in the post at the link in the first post of this thread. So hopefully t...

Hello!I am WantWarriorPrincess, a formerly active member here from around 2005-09. I took a break after I had my third son, to enjoy the family I have and try not to obsess about the family I wanted. Now, 2.5 years later than planned, I am starting now a road I hope will end with IVF/PGD this fall and a (one!) girl pregnancy for me.For a little bit more about me, there is this thread from No...

Hey, Luvr4boys, I remember you ,too. GL with all the tests and cycling. I want you to get your DD, too.
Nuthinbutpink, just to clarify, the OB in question is my longtime, regular OB. He is not an RE or somoene with whom I'd be formally cycling. But he is the kind of doc who might order a test or write a Rx I need while cycling long distance. ;-)

Thanks, Daisy Mae!
The tests, well, I wanted them done to possibly tell ourselves now, nice and early, to back out of the process if my numbers looked dismal. I am willing to consider blowing $20k for one shot, but not one totally hopeless shot. It's the difference between throwing a Hail Mary pass to me, who is the opposite of athletically gifted, and throwing one to an NFL receiver. They're bot...

I was active here (Gold member, etc) a couple of years ago before my third son was born, and now DH and I are investigating the possibility of one cycle of MS/PGD/IVF at HRC next fall when we go to Disneyland. I got some test results today and have no one IRL with whom to discuss them.
So for medical reasons he managed to get his testosterone tested (he's a Type I diabetic in his 40s) this summer...

I was wondering this also?? Did you each give drivers licenses and they look to see if you have same last name?[/quote]
Well, if they did that for me, they'd see that my legally married butt has a different surname than my husband. Names don't prove anything. Marriage certificates do. But frankly, my guess would be that a hetero couple that says...

Congrats! H&H 9 months!
And thank you for updating us. I always like it when people come back to let us know what happened after their IG days drifted off. In the movie "Twin Falls," a character says that an unhappy ending is just a story that was cut off before the real final chapter, and I believe that for all the ladies who move on from the HT boards.

Amen.
I know it must be so stressful and shocking to hear, but you have to ask yourself what is the likelier scenario:
1) You got a PGD opposite. Does happen, but extremely rare.
or
2) A nub guess at *11 weeks* was incorrect.
Both scenarios are due to human error, but one is a lot more common than the other. I would bet my own money t...

As are many people with ASD. Any website or doctor that quotes some BS 50%+ statistic about how many ASD people are "retarded" etc. is old-fashioned and misinformed and most likely really only thinking of the most severe cases. If you've ever seen a children's IQ test administered, you can see that any person who is not the most socially responsive or struggles verbally is at a marked disadvant...

Dr. P answered a similar question (but for family balancing, not for a first child) more than a year ago, so positions may have changed and certainly my memory could be failing me. Nevertheless, what I recall is that it does not get you free MS like genetic diseases like hemophilia and such do because they do not know what to look for to prevent an ASD. The disorders that are covered are ones for ...

That study was small, but it did not find anything out of the ordinary for PGD. For GS patients, PGD is all about the gender guarantee, not for a better cycle in any other sense. I like the 2-probe compromise.
NuthinButPink put it all very well.

I am not surprised at the stats IF you look at the other stats at the very top of each clnic's listing, the ones about patients' fertility issues (where GIVF sure has a higher percentage than some clinics I looked at and *definitely* higher than the impression I think all of us, including myself, have about GIVF patients) and at the pecentage of PGD cycles.
Look at the stats for all SART clinics ...
