Does your husband know that you don't want to be there? How does he feel about it? I would say if you guys are on the same page with everything and he understands your reasoning for not wanting to be there then don't go. It's okay to distance yourself from people that don't know how you're feeling and will make comments that (although probably not intentionally) will hurt you.
If you do end u...

Let me just say congrats on your healthy baby boy!! You will have another little handsome boy to treat you like a queen! I love the name you have picked out for him.. It sounds so strong and respectable, he will grow up to be a great man. I'm sorry you're grieving the loss of your little girl that you don't have, but I truly feel like we are given not what we want, but what we need. You may not kn...

[Y] This. I decided to find out because although people say "Once they lay the baby in your arms you don't care about the gender" I wasn't sure I would react that way. I wanted time to deal with my emotions and work on developing a bond with my little one before I brought him into this world. But that's just what worked best for me. I think that if you feel strongly that you won't be disappointed...

I found out both times. This time I'm especially glad I did, because it gave me a chance to work through all my emotions. I was a little shocked at first, (both my dh and I felt strongly that this baby was a girl) then a little disappointed, but now I'm so excited for him to get here! It's given me a chance to bond with my baby boy and I'm so looking forward to giving my three year old a little br...

It could have been a penis, but keep in mind that it also could have been the umbilical cord or the baby's hand down there. Without a picture or confirmation from an ultrasound tech it is really too hard to know. So I would still say things are 50/50 right now. GL either way and FX you get your little girl!

My first thought was [DS] but I'm no expert, so my guess is just that.. a guess! Either way, GL at your scan and FX you hear girl!!
P.S. You have such a cute bump!!

HopeFaith I have been following your posts and I'm so glad to hear that you seem to be coming to terms with your GD. I agree completely with what you said about how we get the gender we are meant to have, and we may never know why, but there is a reason for everything. I'm sorry things didn't work our with your scan.. I would be so frustrated!! And I was going to say just about the same thing! My...

It sounds like most of the pressure is coming from the MIL's. Lol. My MIL has four boys and would love a granddaughter, but she continually tells me that she won't love any of her grandchildren any less because of their gender. For me, it's more my DH who is aching for a girl. He really wants that daddy/daughter relationship and my heart aches because I want to give him that more than anything..

I tend to agree with this. It sounds like your friend is suffering from what could possibly turn into gd. And if it turns out she is having a girl, congratulate her, but don't feel obligated to hang around her if she is continually insensitive and rubbing it in your face.. It's okay to distance yourself from her for a while.

Although I don't have my dg yet, I can understand your disappointment because you are allowed to want what you want, and being disappointed when you don't get that is normal.. But I can tell you from my own experience that a big sister/little brother relationship is incredible. I have an older brother and a younger brother (I'm the only girl) and my little brother is one of my best friends. We've ...

First time it was in the middle, at just under 10 weeks I believe. Ever since then my obgyn has to move the doppler all the way to the left to find a heartbeat. I'm having a boy. (Also, I don't know how much of a difference this makes to you, but the sonographer said my placenta is posterior.)

This is interesting! I'm still in my early-mid 20's and am having my second boy. I plan on having 3 or 4 kids total, so I wonder how this will play into their gender! I might have to wait til my 30's to have more! Lol.
