Re: Need to get it together!

I understand perfectly how you feel.  GD comes in all forms, shapes and sizes. I wanted a DD2 for my second child, instead got a DS, then had my tubes tied so I can't have anymore.  I already have a stepson as well so my DD is the only girl.  Though technically it's more like my kids are a pigeon pair since my stepson is so much older. (he's 20, he could be their guardian if they lo...

Re: Reasons why moms want girls?

Wow, all of the responses are spot on!  When I decided I wanted kids at all, I knew I wanted a little girl.  For one, I relate much better to little girls.  I have a pretty good relationship with my mom for the most part, but I wanted a better one with my own daughter.  I was more of a Daddy's girl growing up and can remember butting heads with my mom as a child.  I want...

Re: How common is GD really?

I think it's common too.   I have a couple of family members who experienced GD, not the same extent that I did, but it was GD just the same.  I have a SIL, who has Gender Desire.  I don't think she ever had Gender Disappointment but I'm not sure. It's not something she'd admit probably.  The subject is so taboo but I think a lot of people IRL have it and are afraid to adm...

Re: The Ultimate Twist

YIKES!  I think I'd have to hurt him.  I agree, cheating is bad enough but to have a child come out of the affair, yes, that is definitely infinitely worse.  That child would be a constant reminder of what happened.  I honestly don't know what I would do.  I can say, oh yeah, I'd divorce his sorry butt, but if I ever got put in that situation I honestly don't know what act...

Re: Just want one kid whose hair I'm not being pestered to cut!

My husband used to have long hair too.  He actually had long hair when he was a kid, around 5, but he got it cut because the other kids were making fun of him.  But when he got to be a teenager he wore it long again.  He started keeping it short around senior year because it just got on his nerves.  I think it looked good on him but he looks good with short hair too.  As l...

Re: The thought of all the lurkers makes me so sad...

I admit I'm a bit of a lurker.  I don't always know what to say and also don't want to accidentally say something to hurt somebody's feelings.  I also think that maybe some don't want to see what I have to say because I do have one of my DG and maybe they don't understand my GD.  It's like oh what do you know, you at least have one of you DG, I don't even have that, KWIM? Honestly...

Re: Feel like a rubbish girl mum- all mixed up in GD too- help!

My dd is a Mama's girl, is protective of me, wants to make sure I'm taken care of and can be downright mean to her daddy at times, even though she absolutely adores her daddy too.  On the same token, she has her moments where she is mean to me and sweet as sugar to her daddy.  When I discipline her, she wants her daddy and when he disciplines her, she wants me.  So, yes, mine has sa...

Re: Question about wives tales

OWT mean nothing!  I had girl symptoms both pregnancies and have one of each.  My SIL has three girls and had no morning sickness with her first two.  Her third she had horrible morning sickness.

Re: Just ranting about family...

I've never understood why family cares what gender children YOU have.  My MIL wanted me to have another girl, which I did too, so can't say much but really why does it matter to anyone but the parents? She dotes on my daughter so much it's to the point of obsession.  She would be at my door everyday wanting to see her if she knew that somebody wouldn't say something about too many visits...

Re: How much sex you have determine gender??

Well, you have a chance at having a girl if you're like me.   My daughter was planned.  So because of that it took about 6 months for me to get pregnant with her.  We got together like every other night.  I got to where I didn't really keep track of when I was ovulating.  I did at first but it was too much trouble and at the time I didn't know anything about swaying, ...

Re: GENDER DREAMS....ANY TRUTH IN IT?!!

When I was pregnant with my daughter I had a dream that I had a baby that turned into a male kitten.  (I knew it was a male because of the name I had given him) With my son I dreamt of both genders.  I think with him it's because I wanted another daughter so badly.  So, I'd say with me it was opposite with my daughter and downright confusing with my son.

Re: So I think I figured out my birth control plan.

I used a diaphragm for a while until dh and I decided to ttc.  Then I got pregnant with my daughter.  Maybe male sperm don't like latex????

Re: name for your GD baby????

I named my son John after my dad.  The only "M" name that keeps popping up in my head is Milo, it goes good with Max. (JMHO)

Re: OKAY

I feel the same way even though I do have a daughter. When I was pregnant with my son, I had EGD b/c I wanted another daughter and be done having kids.  I'm done having them anyway since I had my tubes tied but sometimes I think it would be nice if I got pregnant despite the tubal ligation and had another little girl.  Then I remind myself that I don't want anymore. (that's just me thoug...

Re: GRANDMOTHER GD?

I think my MIL has GD too with my son.  She and I both were hoping for another daughter for me.  She still doesn't have a whole lot to do with him.  She's only recently started acknowledging him some, holding him and playing with him. He's 3 months old and this weekend was the first time she's ever offered to babysit him.  (we don't let her babysit due to her health) ...

Re: Did anyone else start keeping a little stash of items (clothes etc) for your DG before getting pregnant?

You're definitely not the only one.  My sister, who doesn't have any children, had some baby boy clothes that she just gave me last week.  Most of them are actually like 18 months but I guess she figured she'd let my son get some use out of them.  When I was pregnant with my daughter she gave me some baby girl clothes but I'm not sure if they were ones that she bought or if one of h...

Re: Where do you think your GD stems from?

I think it's possible that life experiences make us experience GD.  I didn't have the same bad experience that you've had with males but I've dealt with enough rotten boys that it turned me off to having a son I think.  When I was in elementary school, there were some boys who liked to pick on me for various reasons.  I was also an early bloomer, so around 3rd grade I started gettin...

Re: new and have boy gd

I do understand even though I did get my DG.  I had EGD with my second child, a son.  I wanted another girl so badly and was devastated when I found out I was having a boy the second time.  It was so bad I wanted to give him up for adoption. GD or EGD comes in all forms.  I am a Christian also and tried counseling through a church.  Well, I was told that what I was feeling...

Re: Giving a child for adoption - feedback?

Hi Klarisa, I don't have any experience with adoption either but I did consider giving my son up for adoption as well.  I realize my GD is a little different than yours and may be hard to understand since I do have a girl, my DG, but GD comes in all forms.  My dh wouldn't even hear of it though.  I think I may be bonding with my son some though, so I probably would have regretted gi...

Re: More likely to get opposite gender with a new partner?

It didn't happen with my SIL. She had two daughters with her first husband, and she and my brother have a daughter together. She's convinced that she can't make boys.  LOL I think she really wants a son for my brother though.  She's super attached to my son.

I live in the southeastern US and it gets very hot here during the summer.  I conceived my daughter in autumn and my son in the summer.

Re: New here - my GD story

Mine was stubborn too, three days late.  The doc was going to have me come in 3/24 to break my water. (I was going for a VBAC, did NOT want a c/s in any way, shape or form) I drank some castor oil as I heard it works and was already having those annoying BH contractions anyway.  She wanted me there at 6am, I ended up getting there about 4am as I went into labor on my own.  I progres...

Re: New here - my GD story

Don't mean to hijack the thread but your baby was born the same day mine was.  How cool is that!    Psychedelique, don't feel bad about having GD for your first baby.  There are plenty of women out there who have had it with their first.  I have a couple of family members who had GD with their first.  (one only had one child) A friend of mine did as well....

Re: Back from scan really gutted! help!!!

Not all men want boys. My husband wanted all girls and we were both disappointed to find out that our second child together was not the DD2 that we wanted.  Kate, I wish I had some words of wisdom to make you feel better but I don't.  I know how you feel though. I have one daughter and when I was pregnant with my son I wanted another daughter.  I still have pangs of GD a...
