I think that GIVF requires ICSI with the day 5, 24 chromosome testing, but that it is optional with the day 3 PGD. I have read on this board that many clinics require ICSI for PGD, but others do not. It seems like most women use it, but I have read a few posts on here in the past from women who did not. I go back and forth about whether to use ICSI or not. So many deci...

Should you always do ICSI with PGD? Does it usually guarantee fertilization? I know some clinics require it for PGD, but others don't if your hubby has a good sample. Have most of you done ICSI?

AnnaG1, can you share some of the positives and negatives you have found with day 3 vs. day 5. I think this is a hard decision too!

I wonder too! We will probably cycle at GIVF as well but the stats do make me nervous. I like to think it is because they take difficult cases, but I don't know for sure. I do know GIVF gets mixed reviews overall. Will you do the new day 5, 24 panel testing or the day 3, 2 probe?

I am so so sorry. I don't even know what to say.

I am wondering if the new day 5 testing will improve their stats? Although other clinics have good stats with day 3 testing. It is so confusing! There have been successes with GIVF on this board so maybe others will chime in.

Cultured Pearl, are you cycling at GIVF this time or did you just cycle there for your IUIs? What protocol are you on? I am thinking about GIVF, do you like it there so far? I wish I had some answers for you about the medications. I worry about overstimulating, but also worry about not having enough. It is a fine line for sure. Best wishes and hopefully you ...

Has anyone tried the new 5 day, 24 chromosome testing at GIVF? I know it is new and they offer a fresh transfer on day 6. I wonder if it will help their stats.

I would think you could sign a form opting out of the saline sonogram....something like you understand that it is recommended but that you do not want to have one. I am not sure if some REs would absolutely refuse to move forward if you refused a certain test. It seems like you are paying a lot of money and if you do not feel comfortable with a particular test then you should be able t...

I am certainly not an expert, but the one thing I notice is that the middle line does not extend back. I always thought that with a boy, you can see three lines, but the middle one is longer. Your three lines look pretty similar so I would still hold out hope that it is indeed a girl. I sure hope so! I am getting nervous about these possible HT opposites! Where did yo...

I am very curious too about 3-day vs. 5-day and the ICSI dilemma? I thought day 5 was much better, but now I read mixed things about both. And I have no idea how you decide about ICSI. Some say it is much better to fertilize and others say natural fertilization is better. I would love to hear what some of the top REs are recommending. I am so confused!

Just saw this and wanted to post. They offer day 5 biopsy with a fresh transfer on day 6! The problem is that the price for just the pgd is $6800!!!

Does the 16K include the FET costs? Did you have several female embryos to freeze from your cycle?

Thank you USA Mommy! Can you tell me more about Mainline? That could be an option for us. Do they do day 3 or day 5 biopsy? What about types of PGD, 2 vs. 5 vs. 24? Do they require lots of invasive pretests like sonograms and such or just bloodwork? How are their success rates? Thanks for your help! Oh, and how much did your meds cost?

I thought I read that the current package for ivf/gsn was $11,700. Could some give me their cost breakdown from cycling at HRC. Could you include your travel costs also. I am trying to figure out whether to stay on the East coast or travel to HRC. Thanks!

I know they list their prices on their website, but would love to hear a cost breakdown from someone who cycled there or is cycling there now. There always seems to be hidden costs so I am trying to figure out how much before I pay for a consultation. And do they require a saline sonogram or other tests other than the bloodwork? I know the tests depend on individual cases, but it...

I am trying to learn about the different protocols. I had bloodwork done and it is all normal, but haven't discussed protocols yet with an RE. I understand that the Lupron is often used first, but I have read some good things about the Antagonist as well. I guess I hear a lot about how the antagonist can produce less eggs, but often higher quality of eggs. I am wondering if...

Hope you feel better babydoctor! I had a question about Protocols. I am trying to learn about them, particularly the long lupron vs. antagonist. I have normal fsh and amh and I assume I would be put on the long lupron. But I like what I read about the antagonist. How do you decide which protocol when someone has normal test results and has never done ivf before. ...

I know GIVF gets mixed reviews on this board and elsewhere. Dominion Fertility offers gender selection as well. I think they are the only 2 in the DC metro area that offer family balancing.

Thank you so much for all of the great info. Did you consider any other local clinics? It seems like GIVF is the only one who will do family balancing. I am considering HRC as well but of course the traveling is a lot to figure out. It seems like GIVF is trying to revamp its image with their new website. But they often get slammed on some local message boards. I...

Thank you for your reply! Were you happy overall there? I read so many mixed reviews about GIVF. One person will say that it was the worst place ever and another will say they loved all the doctors and nurses. I guess a lot of it depends on your success, but I am a little nervous about a lot of the negative reviews. I live so close to GIVF so it makes sense, but still...

I am so curious about this too! I was all for the GSN or at least 5 probe, but now I am thinking about just doing 2 probe. I wish there was some way to compare the PGD results of those who do 2 probe and those who do 5 or more. However, I guess then you would have to follow up with miscarriage rates. But the abnormal rates seem really high and make me so nervous about a no ...
