Don't worry about your son complimenting you, it is gearing him to be close to you later in life. My DD said she was getting a baby brother, even though she said she wanted a sister to play with. It was weird, because I didn't believe her and thought we were having DD#2.

I had Gest. Diabetes with my DD (7 lbs at 40 weeks), my doc did the test in the first trimester and didn't even do the 3 hour test. I think your OB is wise to do it.
