THORNS?? WTF? I agree with Maureen that there are so many nice ways to say congrats without putting your sweet boys down. You know what I think? That they need to be photo-shopped ala Annaliese!! Pronto! They'll be sorry one day if they keep up that kind of behavior because your great sons won't want to be around them. Keep your chin up, what goes ar...

Heather,Reading your post made my chest ache! I am so sad that anyone much less your own mother would say such unkind things. She doesn't deserve your sweet boys. If I knew where you lived I'd literally hop in the car and head over with a big hug. I am glad at least your sister knows and is trying to be sensitive. Hopefully, all the hype will simmer down after awhile,...

Carey,That is one of the funniest things I have ever seen! Take that, Baby Girl! I recommend this to anyone who is feeling in the dumps-what would we do without our photo shop? I am cyber "cheers"-ing my wine glass with yours. I hope you had a good belly laugh over that one!

I'd say he was experimenting for sure to see what he can get away with. It is nearly impossible to discipline that age but I'd say separating him from the baby (time out), redirecting with another activity or a reward system for kind behavior to the baby. I know, easier said than done especially with a full house but that is what I could think of off the top of my head.Good Luck!...

Sounds like she is in a sort of downward spiral with the sleep disruption and she (just like you no doubt) is exhausted and can't even get to sleep if she wanted to. I'd also take Carey up on her offer. She'll be more fresh and you can make a beeline to the nearest Starbucks! I'd get any help from anyone who could just to come in and give you (and Makai) the break you need. ...

My OB when I had ds1 told me that 1 diet coke a day was fine-or 1 cup decaf coffee. Everything in moderation, I think. So, in other words, I had limited caffeine intake during both pg's with no known problems. Take care, I'm sure it's fine!

We like Naples, Marco Island, Ft Myers area. There is lots to do. When I was a kid my family used to go to the areas south of Tampa which is also nice. Sounds fun, it's freezing here! There is a Radisson on Marco that is really nice for families. It has suites with kitchenettes which was great for kiddos and a nice pool.

I am an interior designer and I have had my own business for 3 years. After getting out of school, I worked in Historic Preservation and then worked for a large homebuilder, then I took 4 years off to have my peanuts. The working for myself is really nice because I can control my own schedule, but also hard as I never get a "regular" paycheck. In my off time I am usually running ...

MO4B,In case you hadn't gotten your answer, Snickerdoodles are a great little cookie that is essentially a sugar cookie then rolled in cinnamon and sugar before baking-very yummy. You could probably find a recipe on the internet-if not, one of us could dig you up one!

Hey Ladies, I just received a gift of a book from my Aunt that is so touching I just wanted to share the info with you. It is called "Let Me Hold You Longer" by Karen Kingsbury and the basic gist of the story is about a Mom who has looked forward to all the firsts, milestones, etc and because she got so focused on those sometimes missed when her child has done something for the last time (nee...

Welcome! We are always here to listen and there are tons of wonderful people to vent to here! Whether you have boys, girls, want boys, want girls there is always someone to commiserate with! Congratulations on you 4 girls- isn't it the truth that sometimes we don't realize it at the time but these special little souls need us or we need them and we just need to trust that all is r...

UGH, Carey, you are brave! It is so hard to make those phone calls, visits... I am sorry that it was not what you had hoped to hear but glad the baby is healthy. Isn't it strange how relieving it can be when you hear "it's a boy". I think that the novelty of a girl will wear off. All my neighbors where standing around at our Easter Egg hunt party and some of the...

Robyn,What your dh said was so true about the reasons why these little guys are supposed to be here. It got me thinking about "It's a Wonderful Life" and the part with Clarence when he says "Each man's life touches so many other lives and when he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?" and then it shows all the ways in which George's absence affected everyone he would have k...

Yup, I can definitely live with the moniker of "World's Meanest Mom". Even one of the little kids on our street came up to me last year and shouted up at me- "You're Mean!" because I wouldn't let my ds go sit up at the other end of the street and watch for another kid to get home...sounds like an invitation to get kidnapped!

Wheew! Glad the news was better than you first expected....having a boy will give her some perspective and you can be the wonderful friend who shows her all about the wonder of boys. Having said that, I'd still give her some guff about all the girly stuff.... good luck!

Congrats on your healthy and so very cute(of course) little bundle. Brothers are so special. They love each other so much and are so funny. I noticed a special connection within the first few weeks with mine. I remember looking in the backseat of the car at them and when ds#2 was a baby he would just be fixated on ds#1 as he rambled on about Lord knows what. Take care! ...

Nissy,That is so interesting about your "tingles" (LOL). This last cycle I felt tingling and what I would almost describe as the milk "let down" sensation for about 5 days, but then AF came. That was the only cycle it had ever happened.

Yuck...so sorry...I hate mice and we have a mouse problem in our "lovely" 80 yr old home with woods surrounding! I just opened my Easter decorations box and a little guy had taken up residence over the winter and laid a gazillion turds in a bed of easter grass-barf city. Thankfully, the cat gets most...leaves them as "presents" on the kitchen rug. I say as long as each candy is s...

As if the incident in the classroom wasn't horrifying enough, most the other students were in an assembly to discuss the murder of a student by another 15 yr old student. Where the heck is this place?? They have problems on many levels...I think in 5th grade luckily I was more interested in scratch and sniff stickers and buying 45's. I hope with all my heart these parents step up to th...
