We've bought quite a few things, including a cot/crib and change table (second hand - hubby is busy repainting them), a cradle, clothes, a car seat, a breast pump, a Tummy Tub bath tub, and the main part of the bedding set in the photo. Our little girl...is a boy!! [DS]We were so convinced it was a girl, it was quite a shock when we were told it's a boy. But the technician was quite certain. My anatomy scan is scheduled for 16 December, at exactly 20 weeks. I'm hoping and praying for a girl, but more importantly, that my baby is healthy. I hope bubs cooperates, because I will need time to adjust to the idea if it's a boy, and the last thing I want is to feel disappointed when my baby is born.

God has blessed me with a wonderful answer to all the prayers that have been said for me and my baby! Despite more bleeding and cramping on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning, when the OB did the scan on Wednesday, she picked up a strong heartbeat immediately, and she's happy with the baby's size. Hi Anna Bell, I'm glad you found that site useful [:)]. I'm sorry to hear about the cramps, but try not to worry too much. They are quite common in pregnancy. It's the combination of cramps and bleeding that is more of a concern, from what I've read. Although if they are bad it would be best to speak to your doctor, because they should be fairly mild. From what I've read, it should be up to 1 pound a week in the first trimester, and then go up more quickly from there. I know it's more with twins, but I don't know what else could cause it. I'll report back once I've spoken to the doctor, if she has anything enlightening to say on the subject!

It was nerve-wrecking, but at least I have the second result now. I couldn't post it earlier because I kept getting an error from InGender. I think it's fine for 14DPO Anna Bell. There is a wide range of normal. I suggest that you do ask for a second test after 48 hours, just for reassurance. If it is approximately double, you know everything is fine. I've been gaining weight much faster than I should in the first trimester. I'm in my 7th week, and have already gained 4 kgs (8.8 lbs). It's been at a rate of about 1 kg (2.2 lbs) per week for the last 4 weeks. I was overweight before I fell pregnant, so it concerns me quite a bit. The thing is, I have had a very poor appetite, and if anything, I've been eating less than usual.Ha...

I had the second test late yesterday afternoon. I phoned for the results this morning, but they said I should phone back at 2pm. It's currently 12pm here.I've had a bit more spotting today, but it's not the bright red blood that I had on Thursday evening, which was clearly fresh bleeding. Thanks Courtnilaine :) . My first result was 14,377, which I gather is pretty good, and was somewhat reassuring. I'm just waiting for the second one now. I'm just hoping and praying it will show that the baby is still alive and well.
