Lots of healthy labour vibes to those of us who are ready now! I am happy for her to stay put for a little while yet, hehehe, although I know that she will come when she is ready!
Just did a test run bump cast tonight on my own, went really well actually. Going to get some more modroc tomorrow so dh can help me do a full sized one ...

I had two without an epidural and two with and I am going for the epidural again this time. I loved my labors with the epidural. I was laughing while pushing whereas having them without meds I was crying and in agony. Good luck!

So this is why it's good to know of alternative ways to treat GBS, in case you don't have time for the antibiotics, don't want the antibiotics--whatever. This is interesting too:
"Vaginal disinfection with chlorhexidine during childbirth. Stray-Pedersen B, Bergan T, Hafstad A, Normann E, Grogaard J, Vangdal M. Int J Antimicrob Agents 1999 Aug;12(3):245-51
"Ver...

People who refuse antibiotics for GBS are not putting their lifestyle ahead of their baby's well being, they are making that decision because they care about the well being of their baby. Just like people who choose to take the antibiotics. No one is the bad guy here, we are all just doing the best we can with the information we have at our disposal.

LOL..I have to step away from this too. I do have to say, ladies, be smart. Listen to your head AND your heart. There are people, not just doctors but midwives who have REAL training and education as well as experience to help you take care of your babies. AGAIN, with the minimal risk the antibiotics have I do not see why anyone would risk the chance of their baby possibly dying from s...

I think going "natural" for childbirth is a wonderful way to go. Don't get me wrong. If any woman can handle the pain of contractions and everything else during labor and do it at home or a birth center, more power to them. Personally I can't hack it and I am all for pain relief and a NICU only a floor away. But when it comes to risking the baby's life because you w...

Here are a couple of sites with some good info including why you cannot treat it before labor.
http://www.cdc.gov/groupbstrep/general/protect-your-baby-GBS.htm
http://www.marchofdimes.com/pnhec/188_679.asp
It should also be noted that women who choose to get the antibiotics during labor have only a 1 in 4000 chance of delivering a baby with GBS compared to women who opt not to who have a...

There is no reason for anyone to freak out. [:)] Again, like any other decision, moms to be should just get their own information and listen to their doctor/midwife etc..and do what is SAFE for their baby. In my own case, even when I tested negative and got the antibiotics I did not have any problems, my babies had no problems and more importantly, when I tested positive, my babies wer...
