Re: Are IVF born babies healthy? Please help decide

My PGD girls are 17 months old and they are the healthiest of all of my kids. I am (pretty sure) the IVF/PGD did not have anything to do with it but I can't help but wonder... these were the strongest of 19 fertilized eggs... we also did GSN... my girls have only been sick one time in their lives despite the whole family succumbing to at least 10 different illnesses since their birth. My girls a...

Re: How many tries did it take for IVF + PGD to work?

It took me 1.5 cycles. Because I do not have any fertility problems my fertility doc was very conservative on the stims and I only ended up getting 6 eggs so we froze them and did another, more aggressive round of stims and got 39! I put 2 perfect XXs back and got my perfect baby girls.

Re: Does IVF/PGD really work for Family Balancing

Yep, it does work! I have my wonderful twin girls as a result of it :) Now we have 2 boys and 2 girls and could not be happier about our decision to do it!

Re: IVF/PGD doctor recommendations in Bayarea please?

I got my perfect little pink twins thanks to dr Smikle in SF at Laurel fertility! Love him and the center.

Re: Twin B not growing as fast... Thoughts?

My girls were always off on their measurments.  Both ended up being 100% perfect!  My Twin A is very dainty and w/ a much smaller build than her 2 second younger sister.  The discrepancy wasn't that big when I was that early on however.  But by delivery twin A was measuring 2 weeks behind her giant little sis.

Re: Anyone do PGD/IVF with their tubes tied?

I had my tubes tied in 2006 knowing that the only way I would have any more kids is if they were guaranteed to be girls.  I had been following the news/progress on PGD and knew having my tubes tied would not make a difference.  I now have my beautiful baby girls :)

MinDoc's girls are here!

Hi all, just wanted to let you know that I had my girls and they are perfect!!!! Words cannot express how in love with them I am. Not like I wasn't in love w/ my boys but it is just different. After such a difficult pregnancy (starting out w/ OHSS) I worried that my expectations were too high. But, looking at/holding my precious little pink bundles is better/sweeter than I ever could have imag...

Re: Twins/Triplets... how do you Moms

USA- I was a 1.5 hit wonder, lol.  My RE was very conservative w/ my meds the first round and we only ended up w/ 4 embies so we batched.  My second cycle was a sucess. Thanks GZ- you were such an inspiration to me on my journey.  I am glad to hear that you survived the early stages of twin Mommying.  We too plan on doing feeding shifts.  I am so scared of the lack of...

Re: Update from MinDoc

Thanks ladies [HH]  I forgot how supportive IG ladies are.  I am a regular on another site but it is just not the same.Hope- I am so glad you met Dr. S :)  GL!I love you all and will keep you posted.  Yes... every 7 minutes but they do nothing to my darned cervix [*-)]  I have what the doctors call an "irritable uterus".  I had it with all 3 pregnancies but this is by...

Update from MinDoc

Hello ladies... I have been away from IG for a while because of the darned monkeys... But I just wanted to say a quick hello to all of my old IG friends and let you know what is going on with me.  I am currently 34 weeks and expecting my girls in about 2 weeks.  The girls are both healthy and growing very well.  Their mommy has had a very rough time but is very happy to almost have ...

Re: Is going High Tech worth it????

My girls have not been born yet but I say it was totally worth it.  It is like a rollercoaster for sure, and there where many points along the way that I wanted to get off, but I trust in the science.  Now, I have one caveat... if I had turned out to be a poor responder, I do not think I could have handled the stress of that.  In my 1st cyle my RE was very conservative w/ my meds an...

Re: Twins/Triplets... how do you Moms

Here is some brutal honesty... I went into this process sure that I would only transfer one.  Then I had a cycle where I only got 6 eggs and started feeling desperate.  My doctor really did not want me to transfer less than 2 as he thought it was a waste.  So, after some soul searching... for my second cycle I transferred 2 and am currently pregnant with twin girls. This pregnancy ha...

Re: 15-20k....really?

It cost me $29K for one and a half cycles (2 ERs and one ET).  Transferred 2 and got twins.

Re: Due in July 2011!

BabyB- you could post pics of your creations to FB and craigslist and who knows... by word-of-mouth you could have yourself a nice little business!  My baby A (bottom baby)is very low too.  I totally get what you mean about feeling like she is going to fall out.  At first her head was down there but now it is her feet.  PTL is preterm labor.  Take care [love]

Re: Due in July 2011!

Just got caught up w/ everyone... glad to see some of you are still around and feeling better!  OMG that cake!  I hope you get paid for creating such things?  Update on me- I am ok.  Getting huge and in constant pain w/ tons of BHs.  I am now being monitored weekly for PTL.  I was officially taken out of work last week and not a moment too soon.  I tell ya, thi...

I'm here.  I too had enough of the monkeys and was not able to get on for a bit.  Doing ok.  I am gonna post another thread about glucose testing [;)]

Re: Has anyone did PGD and found that the sex was incorrect? Does it happen? Help!

You have 2 girls in there even if the dr doesn't know.  It is way too early for them to know but rest assured you have your girls [;)] I was a little freaked by the GSN report too but realised what it was really saying.

Re: Triplet and Twin Mommies!

I thought I'd pop in to see if there were any familiar peeps here!  I'm doing ok w/ my 2 girls on board.  I was officially taken out of work last week (thank goodness) due to PTL and pain.  It seems there is a new pain or symptom to worry about every day but I am trying to stay positive.  My current worry is that I may have gestational diabetes.  I failed my 1 hour glucose...
