Re: I need urgent advice for a friend....

I need urgent advice for a friend....

I have a friend who POAS on 17 May and got a few positive results... she estimated that she was probably round about 4 or so weeks pregnant. She went for her first ultrasound today (practically 7 weeks), but no heartbeat is seen... she doesn't really want to talk about what she saw on the u/s but just said she didn't see much. She had her HCG beta drawn then this morning, and now the doc phoned ...

Re: Pregnant again and scared...

Well, keep me updated on what your u/s says on Friday!!! When you hit the 12 week mark you just need a profile shot, but ask the tech to make sure it's a pic where bub's spine is to the bottom. Good that he won't go with you until then because then if you decide to find out you'll know before then. How often do you go for ultrasounds? Here in South Africa we have to go every 4 weeks f...

Re: Pregnant again and scared...

You could do that... but I know I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. I know it's so "old-school", but why not have the doc / tech write it down, place it in an envelope and keep it until you both perhaps compromise to find out... (although knowing myself I'd rip the envelope open before I'm at the car) I really do hope you get your girl! Have you placed any u/s pics on the gender prediction f...

Re: Pregnant again and scared...

All my friends have 1 of each too, so I know where you are coming from. It's very easy for them to speak about such things... I found at at my 16 week ultrasound - was devastated for a short while (no more than a few days), but quickly grew fond of him (needless to say, his older brothers were elated!!!) I wrestled with the thought of leaving him a "surprise package", but I'm glad I found out bec...

Re: Pregnant again and scared...

So sorry to read of your loss and your fears. I was very much in your shoes a while back....... wanted a girl with each pregnancy - I could just imagine myself as a girl mummy, then my firstborn was a son. With my second I thought that this had to be my little girl but alas, another little boy. I then also suffered a miscarriage and also told myself it must have been a girl but the next preg...

Re: Baby Jayden is here ----- please read because I need urgent advice!!!

The only reason he gave was because CF patients present a meconium plug and vomitting of feeds and mucus......... I know it's a genetic disorder and neither DH nor me have anything in our families. He is just the worst, but unfortunately he was on duty so I had to be satisfied and OH, wait for this....... while we were waiting in Radiology on Saturday he sent a nurse to us to ask if we're done ye...

Re: Baby Jayden is here ----- please read because I need urgent advice!!!

Thank you everybody! I took Jayden to the ER on Saturday morning at about 8am... x-ray revealed a blockage in his intestines. The pediatrician immediately put a drip into his little head and a feeding tube into his nose. After his first nasal feed he passed a meconium plug (and 11 more meconium nappies in the next 24 hours!) and the x-ray the next day revealed that there is no longer a blockage! ...

Re: Baby Jayden is here ----- please read because I need urgent advice!!!

Thank you very much for the well wishes and prayers! I'll update tomorrow on the situation, because I'm definately taking him to the pediatrician tomorrow - even if it's just to set my mind at ease!

Re: Baby Jayden is here ----- please read because I need urgent advice!!!

He had absolutely no bowel movement in the hospital. They told me it could take up to 48 hours to pass meconium and that's the reason why I'll be seeing the pediatrician tomorrow if he hasn't gone yet.  Sheesh.... I'll definately update tomorrow once I know what the verdict is. They say it's possible that he has a meconium plug and just needs a baby laxative to get it out, but I'm a rea...

Baby Jayden is here ----- please read because I need urgent advice!!!

Jayden was born yesterday at 14:55 weighing in at 3.450kg. Yes, he's my April Fool's baby! :-) The birthing experience was wonderful, but he's a very slow drinker (bottle-fed). He drinks 10ml's at a time and just wants to sleep. Now the problem I have is this: he is about 28 hours old and has not passed any meconium. He also makes himself nauseas and what comes out appears to be spit and bile....

I'm soooooo ready, but he's not - YET!!!

I went for my check-up last night - I'm 37 weeks this weekend and little Jayden is so very comfy under his mommy's heart! There's still loads of fluid around him (10cm measured) and he weighs 3.7kg (8.1 pounds). Thank goodness our seasons are changing here in South Africa from summer to autumn, so that's a bit of a relief, but I'm so ready for this to be over! My eldest son was born at 36 weeks...

Re: Belly shots

This is my unique physique at 34 weeks 6 days. The rest of the pics will be uploaded on my FB page hopefully by the weekend.... but my friend just sent me one so long to ease my curiousity.

Re: Scans and baby sizes

I had another u/s last night at 34w 2d and little Jayden weighed 7lbs 0.87oz (3.2kg) and he's measuring at 37w 2d. My other sons were 2.8kg and 3.4kg at birth (38 weeks) so this one might be a whopper! In South Africa doctors LOVE c-sections (mainly because of the high HIV rate), but my doc says he doesn't want me to experience the "worst" of both worlds (because he's estimated at being a 4kg b...

Re: Bummed it's a boy

So sorry you're feeling like this! My third son is due in a few weeks. I got pregnant last year and prayed really hard that this would be my little girl. I miscarried at almost 9 weeks and then even had thoughts of "Maybe it was a boy and God is going to give me my little girl when I fall pregnant again..." I fell pregnant 2 months later and he's a boy... I was devastated! Said to my mom the mo...

Re: "I want to meet my baby."

WOW!!! So many ladies in tears because of this moving post.... add me to the count!  I hope your little sunshine graces you with his presence very soon! I'm expecting my third little boy and love them all to bits! You will too, I have no doubt of that! All of the best for his pending arrival! And enjoy every moment with him. He's perfect and you're going to be the perfect mummy to him!

Re: has anyone got a boy toilet shot minus the penis !!!
Oh wow, Leanne!  If I had just seen that pic, I would have thought it was a GIRL!
I know!!! It didn't help the GD much - until I saw his face at my 28 week 4D appointment - fell utterly in love with him then! Still hoping I can turn hubby's arm to try once more in the hopes that I'll get a girl, but if not, then I consider myself blessed with a ...

Re: has anyone got a boy toilet shot minus the penis !!!

I got this at 20 weeks...... This was the very next u/s after our gender u/s at 16 weeks (showed all boy), but sure enough, he's willy popped up at the 24 week appointment! (Have also been seeing it at every other u/s that followed) I'm not going to lie - I then started thinking that maybe "it" fell off... but he's all BLUE and I'm looking so forward to meeting him!
