Blessed, omg your boys are adorable!!! Congrats on your DD coming in Feb! Not so far away is it? We are going to TTC#1 in Feb.! Sparkle, I am a bit envious of you, I understand this is your first child? I hope my first is a boy. Lucky duck!

First of all, i'd be downright scared if my DH ever said anything like that to me. Knowing it is a 50/50 chance (pretty much) on gender each time you get pregnant...he should have known a possibilty for a girl. Talk to him again...and if he says the same thing or something similiar...don't walk, run...run as far away as you can. That's crazy talk! Why risk your child's life?

Rein, coming from someone with NO children and wishes to already be a mom by now...thanks for sharing this & the negative nellies can choose not to read this section! No i'm not a mother, no i've never had GD, so why am I here? I could be any of you someday. Anyday. The pain and the longing for a desired gender is what i'm trying to avoid. I never wanted a girl but now I know if someday ...

I don't know!! Everyone is so different. Plenty of people in my family and my DH's family have had children at age 37-40 and they all came out healthy and fine, no complications. It's on a person to person basis I think...which is why some 40 yr olds have no issues and some 34 yr olds have tons. It really depends on the person. I mean honestly, is a 35 yr old woman who started thier period @...

As someone with no sisters (or brothers) and yet to have my first. Just be greatful. I don't beleive someone with a PP feels as deep as GD as someone with all one gender. I can think of MANY benefits of having just one gender. We want two regardless of the sex. Two boys...two girls...I can think of SO many reasons why we would want two of the same. Saving the baby clothes for the next child,...

I want a 2-3 year age gap between my two. I think over 4 years would be considered bigger...reason I say this was a friend of mine's DH said 4 yrs was hard on him and his bro. they didn't have a lot in common at say age 4 and 8. He didn't like it.

I would think a boy would be easier to dress! I mean I don't know I have neither but I just don't have time for frilies and doing a girl's hair...etc.

I don't think it's such a huge issue that it used to be, heck my DH's mother had him @ 38 he was a suprise but a much wanted boy after several girls. He was healthy and fine...still is! :) There's a lot of good prenatal care out there and nowadays they take good care of "older" pregnant ladies. We are told (by society) when we turn 35 a monster appears out of no where and comes to steal all ...
