Boy/girl twin question for TAMARA and others

Okay this question popped into my head this morning - how does gender swaying theory explain the conception of twins when one is a girl and one is a boy? This does not appear to be addressed in any of the studies.  I am swaying pink but maintaining a healthy level of cynicism [;)] Any theories?

Did anyone have a high dairy diet and conceive a boy?

I'm ttc a girl in June and the part of the girl diet I am getting on best with is drinking lots of milk (always loved dairy). I'm not doing so well with other parts of the diet (espec skipping breakfast!). So i'm just wondering how big a sway factor people have found a high dairy diet to be. Thanks.

Re: Girl sway theory

p.s. If you are like me - a girl sway-er who is finding it incredibly difficult to cut back on caffeine consider this - caffeine raises cortisol levels and a rise in cortisol around time of conception has been found to sway pink. I'm not sure whether to find comfort in this as i drink my afternoon coffee or to feel exasperated that i have found yet more contradictory information!! I think ult...

Girl sway theory

Hi, i've just read a study online that has found that high cortisol levels caused by stress was found to result in more girls conceived. I'm wondering if this could be one of the reasons that the girl diet works as alot of women on these forums seem to find the diet stressful! Also maybe the diet puts the body under more stress which results in higher cortisol levels. Just my theory and i'm no sci...

Re: Why does dairy sway for a girl - is it just because of the calcium?

Thanks Tamara. I've also read that dairy contains potassium but i'm guessing that the #pro-pink' factors out weigh this?

Why does dairy sway for a girl - is it just because of the calcium?

Hi, I was just wondering if the reason a dairy rich diet is considered to sway pink is soley because it contains calcium or are there other benefits to dairy that would sway for a girl? I know that studies have shown that a diet high in calcium and magnesium can sway for a girl but alot of info on this site seems to emphasise dairy food in particular.  Also, does it matter if the dairy prod...

Re: My girl sway meal plan - please comment :-)

Thanks for your comments. The reason I though oatmeal would be okay is because it is low GI therefore it keeps blood sugar stable - isn't that important for girl sway? I love oatmeal!

High protein diet - which way would this sway?

Just a query. I've been trying to loose some weight over the past few weeks and have been following a high protein diet which involves eating protein bars (whey protein). Is this likely to sway for a boy or girl? I'm starting the girl sway diet next week but just curious about the protein [:)]

Re: TTC Girl - Advice on skipping breakfast - what works for you?

I like the sound of getting nutrients from food rather than supplements - that's my ethos too! Just wondering if porridge (i.e. oatmeal) is a good 'girl' food? I currently eat it for breakfast but thinking I could have it later in the day instead [:)]

Re: TTC Girl - Advice on skipping breakfast - what works for you?

Thanks Honeyrose it's encouraging to hear your story [:)] It's abit corny but i'm thinking about wearing a pink wrist band or something to remind me why i'm doing it and then perhaps I won't be tempted! I'd be thrilled with a baby of either gender really but i'm interested to see if swaying works and find that the planning involved is keeping my mind off my raging broodiness! I've been pregna...

Re: Caffeine query - girl sway

Honeyrose - this is music to my ears! There seems to be so much conflicting info I thought coffee was a big no no for the girl diet.

TTC Girl - Advice on skipping breakfast - what works for you?

Anyone else ttc a girl have advice on skipping breakfast? I have started my day with a large bowl of porridge (oatmeal) for years and always wake up really hungry. I get really grouchy when I miss breakfast. Are there any drinks or habits you use to take your mind of it. From the studies i've read skipping breakfast to ttc girl seems to have a lot of weight behind it.

Caffeine query - girl sway

Hello, I am ttc a girl summer 2012 and am starting to make changes to my diet now in preparation. I find it very difficult to cope without caffeine so am going to try swaying whilst leaving this in my diet. I could give up tea or coffee but would find it very difficult to give up both. Does anyone know which is worse for girl sway - tea or coffee? Are there any caffeinated beverages that are actua...
