Re: Where in the world...

I would go anywhere that offers some kind of sperm sorting along with the IVF cycle...so for Europe, I guess that would be CYPRUS.US used to offer sperm sorting but no longer. Without it half your embryos will be useless (or more like I have had the bad luck in discovering).  Useless embryos is money down the drain and fewer chances for FET and pregnancy.I have learned that it does...

Re: Here we go again- anyone know a way to improve egg quality? quantity?

You can try taking 25 mg DHEA 3x/day for 3-5 months before your cycle. It improves egg quality...it also makes more boys so keep that in mind. 142 PATIENTS WERE AGED 35 TO 39 INCLUSIVE. A: 14 OF 34 (41.1%) GOT PREGNANT ON DHEA ALONE. B: 9 OF 16 (56.2%) GOT PREGNANT ON LETROZOLE + DHEA (2 WITH ADDITION OF I.U.I.) C: 22 OF 28  (78.5%) GOT PREGNANT ON C.O.H.- I.U.I. + DHEA D: 35 OF 64...

Re: several cycles of pgd

So sorry to hear about your no transfer cycle. I have been there....Unfortunately it does not get better with other cycles.  I had not a single healthy girl the first time, and the second time I had only ONE healthy girl out of several embryos...the rest BOYS! I have a full basketball team on ice. Its not like I had a bunch of abnormal girls either. My gender ratios were 85% boy vs. 15%...

[quote user="tiffany12345"]I am so sorry that you have a hard time reading sweetie, but in addition to being blunt I also said to XYXY more than once I hope her gender dreams come true. I also wrote a couple of suggestions in the meantime that I *thought* may alleviate some of the GD in the moment.  -Then why not foster a child, -volunteer at the NICU ward at the hosptial,...

Re: Done here for a while.

[quote user="Sasha2012"]You have a large, diverse family so is very easy for you to judge others from that high horse of yours. Your time would be better spent taking care of your large brood rather than wasting it by making depressed GD sufferers feel bad about themselves. Hey, this is just my friendly suggestion and advice. Re: Done here for a while.

BellaVita, I'm glad Newbaby was able to offer you help and comfort. You were one of XYXY's harshest critics. Perhaps you can use your newfound GRACE and apply it to the next person with EGD who crosses your path.[HL]

Re: Done here for a while.

Its called TOUGH LOVE, honey [;)]Newbaby means well and she *thinks* her story about burying her dead child is going to be "helpful" to women suffering with GD.  Well, I'm here to inform you that it is *not* helpful. There are many of us with GD who feel this way but have kept silent for a very long time because we wanted to tread softly and not hurt Newbaby's feelings.&nb...

Re: Done here for a while.

I'm very sorry about your loss.  But this is the Gender Disappointment board. Not the "Your GD is nothing compared to seeing a baby in a coffin" board. That sounds harsh but that is just what someone with GD is hearing when they come on here sad about having to go thru another GD pregnancy and you come on with your painful, grizzly story about burying your dead daughter.  What is the poi...

Re: Done here for a while.

XYXY, I'm so sorry to hear that you are leaving. I don't usually post on the GD board (mostly lurk) but I think you are right about how it has degenerated lately.Well, I also notice that this same person not only lost a baby but went on to deliver their desired gender baby...I'm sure that played absolutely no part in curing their GD?? Its so fine and dandy for someone to say that gender ...

Re: If your sway failed, Do you regret swaying?

I don't regret swaying because now I know it does not work! But I would have never believed it otherwise.

Re: Does IVF/PGD really work for Family Balancing

It means you can't sue them if they tell you they are transferring two XX embryos and you give birth to a boy and a girl (as happened to someone on here recently).

Re: How many tries did it take for IVF + PGD to work?

2 IVF/PGD cycles and lots of credit card debt...but still no baby [:'(]

Re: Where to go for IUI with Microsort with low AMH?

I did Microsort IUI in Mexico many times with no success. I also used fertility drugs.  I think the odds of pregnancy with MS IUI are even lower than 20%. That said, I did IVF/PGD twice with no success either (the cost of which I could have done another 20 MS IUI cycles)! It is a crap-shoot either way.

Re: Does IVF/PGD really work for Family Balancing

Yes, IVF/PGD can work for family balancing but first you have to make it to transfer.  25% (1 in 4) people who cycle will have NOTHING to transfer.  This is something the RE won't tell you before hand.  Who would want to spend thousands for 25% chance of nothing. No refund. Our Dr. only mentioned how common no transfers for IVF/PGD were after we paid thousands and had very...

Re: What to look for in a clinic??

Find out where they do PGD analysis (is it on site or is it shipped to a third party?)How flexible is the doctor in tailoring protocol to suit each patients individual needs? (I could not tolerate Lupron but at least 3 clinics we interviewed automatically start ALL patients on Long Lupron or Microdose Lupron). Is there money refunded or a reduced cycle fee for no-transfer cycles? (25% of all I...

Re: HRC fertility

I was not impressed with HRC or Dr Potter (which I was very surprised because of all of the positive reviews on InGender, I thought HRC would be an ideal clinic to cycle with).Given that Dr Potter is affiliated with this site, I would take what you read here with a liberal dose of salt. In my experience people do not "fake" bad reviews and they are more honest.  Fake "glowing/positive" r...

Re: Second thoughts about doing PGD again..

I also believe stims ruin eggs.  The only way I would believe the so-called "stats" is if they tested normal eggs from women and not the stim ones. How they can even compare making embryos in dishes vs. invivo is beyond me. Apples & oranges and too many different variables to account for. Birth defects *are* higher with IVF babies and its proven over and over and over again even though the...

Re: Feeling Discouraged... one try isn't enough?

Two IVF/PGD cycles. First one no transfer. Second one early miscarriage. There's people here who've done 4++++ tries and still no baby (young too!)  IVF just doesn't agree with some people's bodies even if they are fertile with children already. You won't know until you do it, but be prepared for 2-3 tries at least.

I don't even know if I should post here :(

After 3+ years ttc, multiple IUI, 2 IVF's I finally conceived my baby girl. I started with low betas but told not to worry. Then my first ultrasound the couldn't find the HB and said too early. A week and 1/2 later, confirmed by baby girl died.  Now just waiting to miscarry.  All of the chromosomes were tested so there was nothing wrong with her. Why is this happening? Why can't I get pr...

Re: EGD: PLEASE STOP HERE IF YOUR DISAPPOINTMENT IS EXTREME

I've failed mutiple iui's, 2 IVF/PGD and miscarried my baby girl. My grief is extreme right at this moment. I don't know if I should cry.scream.or laugh at the irony of it all.  I never thought I would need this forum but I do [:(]

Re: Second Thoughts - HELP!

I would also like to add that the IVF has seriously wacked my body, which i was not prepared for.  It took several weeks for my cycles to recover in between IVF #1 and #2.  Now I even wonder if I can conceive on my own?

Re: Second Thoughts - HELP!

I went thru all of your rationales (for and against) when starting on my hi-tech journey 3+ years ago.  On the one hand I really didn't know how to justify the money, but on the other hand, I didn't want to live my o.n.e. life and look back with regrets.  So in the end, the hi-tech road won.At first I promised myself that we would only do the MS/IUI. I was still young-ish (37), had no pr...

Re: Microsort stories please!!!

Oh my goodness! I've always assumed the hardest part of Microsort is getting pregnant. Did you do the IUI or IVF?I've never even heard of anyone not getting the proper gender with sorts so high. I suppose it theoretically can happen...WOW! You must have been shocked at the ultrasound. [:O]
