Had my first gestational diabetes clinic today! Gotta prick my finger test my blood sugar 6 times a day and follow a diet.
Bit gutted about that but on the upside know for sure that i shall not be allowed to have baby later than due date, so this will be a September baby
they will decide on an induction date nearer the time dependent on results of monitoring me over the coming weeks. BUT ...

DS1 1999 8lbs 6 oz
DS2 2005 8lbs 12 oz
DS3 2008 8lbs 7oz
all were 20 inches
sooooo my prediction for DD1 in Sept is 8lbs 9oz although things may change as I have just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and that may mean early induction if baby measuring big etc so watch this space...

Unfortunately I never :(, failed one of three bloods taken so i am officially classed as having gestational diabetes, gotta attend diabetic clinic every tues and this first tues i shall be learning how to use a finger prick glucose monitor and getting diet advice.

lol thanks, they were quite well thought out and prepared prior to getting pregnant as i knew i would get fed up off all the questions and assumptions :( and I am!

Lola - i did see your frustration with the ph, i found mine came down really quickly with the lime douche i did early eve pre bd and with replens but i guess its very individual soz, quite a few ppl reacte very different to the same recommended things,

Yeah we have to fast for the 1st blood taken for the 3 hour test and then they fill you with a shed load of glucose and watch how your body reacts by taking further blood samples. My previous experience was it made me feel rank, dizzy sick, lightheaded shaky, flushed :( so not looking forward to it.

Hey noticed there is a few of us being sent for the 3 hr glucose tests,
I am a bit worried and it got me thinking about weight gain so far etc.
My random blood reading was 10, midwife said fail mark was 7 so i am not feeling optimistic for 3 hr test on tues.
Bit the bullet and weighed myself and weight gain is 8kg (17lbs) at 29 weeks pregnant
i am 5ft 8in and my 3 boys were 8lbs 6, 8lb...

I'm optimistic i won't. i don't feel like i have blood sugar issues, but i guess I shall find out tomoz when i phone for blood results. I have had a pregnancy in between then and now with no sugar problems.
