Re: No Transfer :(

Yeah he didn't mention a discount yet but it sounded like he was implying maybe he could do it. Our appt. is Jan 7 so we will see what he says. Thanks for sharing your story with me though.

Re: No Transfer :(
I am so sorry to hearof your no transfer.  I do want to say, though, that a change of protocol can do wonders.  My meds were upped on my 2nd cycle and the results were amazing. I really do hope you can get another cycle in.  Best wishes  ETA: I also wanted to add that I took NO supplements for my 2nd cycle (other that F/C & P/N) as I  ...

Re: No Transfer :(
I told my RE about all my supps and so he asked me to be tested before taking DHEA. And he said it *might* interfere with estrogen priming. I would definitely share with Dr. Potter in your follow up consultation. For sure tell him about the DHEA so he has all the info he needs. I'm not really sure what to make of drs that don't accept any type of alternative medicine. For wha...

Re: No Transfer :(
You will get half your monay back Gina as no PGD and no ET means those payments will come back and may help with your next cycle. Make sure you remind them.  I had a no transfer too and got half back (in Thailand). GL to you.   Grits, does that mean if Royal Jelly is working for you ie, lowered the fsh over the last few mths, to not worry about DHEA ?? Thanks...

Re: No Transfer :(
Oh, I didn't notice you had been taking it. Now I'm sort of surprised at your number retrieved and quality. Did Dr. Potter know you wrre taking it? Did you a special protocol like estrogen priming? I don't think it's on GYN lab, my primary care physician referred me to a regular endo doc. But...hmm...I'm not sure how you can get an accurate measure of your natural levels sinc...

Re: No Transfer :(
It can't hurt to have your DHEA levels tested. If you don't need it, it could, in theory, increase your testosterone and you would notice signs like hair loss and weight gain. But nobody knows for sure because it's not a regulated supplement. If your FSH levels were in the high end (even if normal for your age) or if you have a low sex drive your DHEA levels might be lower. A...

Re: No Transfer :(

I kind of thought you might say that because I have heard someone before that it could increase your estrogen. Maybe I will cut it out and increase DHEA. Is it possible DHEA would do this to my embryos if I didn't need it and was taking it anyway?

Re: No Transfer :(

Thanks lovehugs - yep it's been a bad day for us MM HT's [:(]. Dr. Potter hasn't mentioned any discount to me yet but I'm thinking since he requested we sit down with him in the next couple weeks he may offer something. I hope but still don't know if I will be able to afford it. My embryos didn't even make it to 3 day biopsy. He said that yeah you are AMA but they looked a lot worse than they shou...

Re: No Transfer :(

I'm so sorry.  At 40, I would absolutley start on DHEA now if you are going to cycle again.  If your DH has sperm issues, that wouldn't have anything to do with protocol.  Egg quality will be your number one issue at 40 so I would take DHEA to see if it improves that for you.  I know Manhattan took it and saw a big differe...

Re: No Transfer :(

NBP - I have been on DHEA for almost four months but have only been taking 50mg because I never had testing to see if I needed it.

Re: No Transfer :(

Thanks CC - I already called his office and the scheduler will be calling me tomorrow because she is out today. Just hung up the phone with my DH and told him what Dr. P said. He doesn't really want to pursue another cycle unless it's super cheap. So I'm not sure what will happen at this point. Dr. P did mention DE and my DH doesn't want anything to do with that.

Re: No Transfer :(
I'm so sorry. I can't imagine the pain. It certainly could be protocol. My first cycle had unexpectedly horrendous eggs and embryos and the dr said he thought I would do better with a new protocol.   What supplements were you taking and how long were you on them?
Thanks Grits. In the past 3 months I added - wheatgrass, royal je...

Re: No Transfer :(

Thanks beeshine. Please don't think this will happen to you. Dr. Potter himself said he was very surprised at my outcome. The quality of our embryos were even worse than someone at my age should have. He is taking a couple weeks to think about our situation and we will go in to talk to him about it. I'm hoping he offers us a great deal on a second cycle because we really only could afford the one ...
no transfer - out of 14 there are 2 normal boys and that's it - I'm devastated!  :(
Oh no we both got bad news today. I thought for sure you would be OHW. I am so sorry lovehugs and believe me I feel your pain. <<<<BIG HUGS HUN>>>>>

No Transfer :(

Well, it looks like a no transfer for us. Received a call this morning from HRC and 3 out of the 5 embryos were only at 2 cells and the other 2 were at 3 cells. They said they should be 5-8 cells by now and that they had arrested. I'm so upset! I really didn't expect that outcome. Any thoughts on what causes this? I am over 40 and DH has sperm issues too but I have heard this can sometimes be caus...

Re: Tips on getting Roayl Jelly down????

After you have taken it a few times it seems to melt a bit so it won't be as hard. Not sure if it's from the jar being opened or what but it does get better. I just smash it against the roof of my mouth to soften it a bit, swallow it, and chase it with water. Trust me you will get use to it.

Re: Stalker with a question :)

Hey SonBun - I remember you from the Blue Crew. I'm not sure what I would do in your situation but we didn't keep it from anyone and our kids even know. My kids are older than yours so it's easier to explain the whole family balancing thing to them. I personally don't think there is anything wrong with you trying to add a boy to your crew. Just wanted to wish you luck with whatever you decide. Oh ...

Re: Fertility Report

Thanks bee shine - I wish I felt more confident about it. Dr. Potters office wants us to wait for a 5 day transfer if possible but it's making me nervous. What was your fertility report like? I'm sure you posted it here but I keep getting monkeys and can't get into most threads. Oh and GOOD LUCK tomorrow! [GLC]
Well, statistically, age is the number one predictor for IVF success.  BUT, I had less than half of my eggs fertilize and I still got my DS.  Hang in there.  Just need one!
What were your numbers in your fertility report like NBP?
