Re: Bed Rest Query

Thanks PPP & NBP, that is good to hear. It seems like such a shame to go to Disneyland and miss out on all the fun. Me and my DH were saying that perhaps we should get one of those Disney characters to wait on me butler-style, bringing me drinks and fluffing up my pillows. Just so I don't miss out on the Disney experience!

Re: Bed Rest Query

Thanks Jodi! So I'll schedule for 3 days. Why no shower? Is that because you need to be upright? Sorry if TMI, but I have the smallest bladder in the world and am always having to go to the toilet. I guess I could just drink less fluids. Oh, and another thing... can you eat and drink as normal? Oh, and someone mentioned something about a hot water bottle...Gosh, I've just realised... I am ...

Re: Bed Rest Query

Thanks Michaela. So it doesn't need to be 5 days, then? Obviously I would rather spend only 3 days cooped up in a hotel room with only Pluto to keep me company.

Re: Back from ER

Oh, I'm sorry. Fingers crossed for the Fert Report later.

Bed Rest Query

I shall booking our tickets to California in the next few days (our donor has her AFC and scan with Dr Lin today, so fingers crossed!). We are going to arrive the day before ER and stay in a local hotel until the day before ET. Then we shall be staying in Disneyland until it is time to head back to the UAE. The thing I need to know is, does the day of ET count as a day if you are doing 5 days b...

Re: is there a hrc success survey anywhere?

Yes, I agree Michaela. What info would you like to see in our spreadsheet?

05 Sep 2010 6:39 PM

Re: is there a hrc success survey anywhere?

I have often thought that it would be tremendously helpful to have a spreadsheet of all the clinics across the world with their (IG) success rates, prices, etc. I think I may have offered to do this at some point; still happy to do so if people thought it might prove useful.

Re: Can anyone adopt?!?

Thanks for your replies, girls. That's all really interesting. It sounds like you have to jump through a lot of hoops. I might investigate adoption here locally in the middle east. I don't think it will work out for us, but I do want to look into it, just in case. Thanks again for your replies!

Re: Can anyone adopt?!?

Hey Grits, nice to see you on here! What is 'private adoption'?

04 Sep 2010 11:46 AM

Can anyone adopt?!?

We are currently scheduled to do HT for another baby, but all along my DH has said he would rather adopt. The thing is, I would, too. But I think we would be excluded on age and health grounds. And also because I have an, erm, somewhat colourful past!Anyway, can somebody tell me the kinds of things that would exclude you from adopting? I think we probably can't adopt for the reasons listed abo...

Re: What made you chose your center? Survey ;)

Success Rates. By far the most important factor, in my view.

Re: So I signed the form which allows my last 2 embies to be destroyed

For those of you who have a problem with discarding embies, would you consider embryo donation to a couple who can't have children?

Re: Microsort - clinics in Europe?

Hi Clare,As far as I am aware, MS is only in the US and Mexico (didn't know about Nigeria!). For the US, MS is currently closed and they are not taking on any new patients. Would you consider IVF/PGD? This is by far the best method available at the present time to get the gender of your choice. All the best,Fulla (an English girl living abroad)

I have an exam the day before I start Lupron, so I am hoping that I am able to focus on that the weeks leading up to it, and not spend so much time obsessing about the IVF. We are in good hands, so ...
