Re: Is it worth it??

Havebluwantp1nktoo...We transferred 2 embryos and 1 split (giving us three girls).  For us, this was a one time shot.  We probably could have scrapped together the cash for a FET (we froze one) but that would have been tight.  We consider ourselves very, very lucky to have come out of this experience with three healthy girls.  Raising multiples is amazing!

Re: IVF/PGD Success stories WITHOUT Microsort?

When we first decided to go high tech, our doctor highly recommended MS but we didn't want to go that route.  We simply told him we weren't interested and he agreed to go with our plan.  We had success on our first cycle.  We had 7 embryos biopsied, 3 healthy boys, 3 healthy girls and one adnormal boy.  We transferred 2 healthy female embryos and ended up pregnant with tr...

Re: Transfer 1 or 2?? How to know??

The day of my ET, I had 3 healthy female embryos.  I wanted a daughter and almost transferred all three embryos but I didn't want to risk having triplets (LOL).  It was a hard decision because I was afraid the embryo I didn't transfer would have been the one.  In the end, we transferred two healthy female embryos and had the surprise of a life when we had our first ultrasound ...

Re: Is it worth it??

I got three for the price of one and haven't regretted the decision once.  It was absolutely worth it.  We are still "paying off" the girls but that's okay with me.  I'd rather eat out less and have my daughters sitting at the dinner table.  It is a LOT of money and it's a gamble.  My story had a happy ending but I can't even imagine having this monthly bill without ...

Re: Moms of twins, please help!

I just want to point out one tiny bit of information....DH and I transferred two embryos and were very surprised to learn we were having triplets.  My girls are healthy and I absolutely love having multiples.  Knowing what I know now, I would still transfer those two embyros.Just wanted you to realize that just because you transfer two doesn't mean you'll only have twins or a singleton.&...

Re: Triplets anyone???

I want to add that SR was offered to us but DH and I agreed that we CREATED these babies to fill a gap in our life.  We knowingly transferred two embryos and knew our chances of having twins was high.  Much to our surprise we ended up with triplets...and it is amazing.  These babies were no accident.Having said that, if you choose to reduce is your decision.  Not all triplet pr...

Triple the Joy

Hello Everyone. It has been a while but I wanted to let everyone know that the triplets have arrived and are healthy.  For everyone that is thinking about doing PGD - go for it.  I am finally complete.  I have my sons and I have my daughters.  I even got a bonus baby in the process (only transferred two and came out with three).  Good Luck to everyone.

Triplet Update

Hello Ladies.  I've been lurking but haven't made many posts recently.  I am now in my 21st week of pregnancy with the triplets and things are going great.  It has been confirmed that each baby is a girl...I know, I Know, but I was still nervous!!!  My family and friends have been extremely supportive and everyone is excited to meet our daughters.  It's been an amazing jou...

Re: Just curious about what you tell people if you have multiples and did HT

I think it's sad but trust me, it's true!!!  I would say 98% of people (friends, family, complete strangers) have asked us if we did some type of fertility treatment.  And since we have kept this a secret from everyone, I'm very careful about what I say and to not give any indication that we did IVF.  I wouldn't suggest anybody put back three.  We had three girl embries but onl...

Re: Does anyone know how long after a transfer implantation is supposed to happen?

We did a 5 day transfer and the nurse told me they would implant that evening or by the next morning.  Good Luck!!!

Re: Just curious about what you tell people if you have multiples and did HT

daughteronmymind - I completely agree with your comment.  We kept it a secret because I know of a family member who completely disagrees with the idea.  And I really think I would be the topic of discussion (good and bad) if I told my group friends.  It's personal and it was OUR decision.  The funny thing is...technically, DH and I aren't lying about our triplets being na...

Re: My beta results

We did a 5 day transfer.  I'm not sure at what point they were but I remember the nurse telling me that they were a tiny bit behind.  I don't think they were blastocyts yet but very near.  I remember she told me they would probably implant that evening or by the next morning.  Well, they implanted!!!!  Beta numbers are so tricky.  The become such an obsession - at lea...

Re: Just curious about what you tell people if you have multiples and did HT

Well, that happened to me.  We have kept our "little" secret from the world and although everybody asks if we had fertility treatment, people accept my answer when I say no.  Who knows if people wonder but we stay firm with keeping our secret.  We haven't even told our OB.  I'm sure some would disagree with our decision to keep it a secret but we did and we're glad we did. ...

Re: general ?'s about IVF

I first saw my DR around March and cycled in July.  Maybe if I had pressured them things would have gone faster but this just seemed to be the flow.  It really is just a luck thing.  I got pregnant within a year of starting to try with each of my boys but never on the first try - thankfully, I was an IVF OHW!!!  I don't think it was hard on my family.  We cycled locally an...

Re: Back with a News!!!

Congratulations.  You are right...this is a roller coaster but seeing your daughter's (or son's) heartbeat makes it all perfect.

Re: Would welcome advice re PGD!

Welcome!!!  I did searches in my area for IVF clinic and then narrowed down which ones offered PGD.  We were successful on our first try...and although we only transferred two embryos, we are expecting triplets.  Good Luck with everything!
