I realize that this post is flaring some major emotions in people. I don't agree with terminating due to gender either. However, I do give you credit for posting when you KNOW what the reactions would be. It takes soe balls to be able to tell someone they aren't alone in a decision that will be so very controversial.

I'm so worried that the tech was wrong. LOL This was at 18 weeks and he said it's a girl. Do you agree or could he possibly be wrong in your opinion?

So in January, I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks. It was a long, drawn out mind-f--k of an experience. I was fortunate enough to get pregnant very quickly after and am now 23 weeks pregnant with my DG, a girl after 2 boys. We are fast approaching my first due date. I should be 37 weeks pregnant by now. I had 2 people, my SIL and a very good friend, due at the same time as me. My SIL had he...

I'm sorry. I was like that with DS2 as well. It took a good week of sobbing then another few weeks of just being miserable to get past it. Well, as past it as I could be. But as everyone will likely tell you, once he's here and you are looking at his sweet face and watching him grow up, you will get past it. It's hard but it'll be okay. ((hugs))

I'm kind of taken aback by the replies on this thread. How do any of us know that the friend wasn't suffering from some Pre-GD too?? She wanted a girl just as badly as the OP does. Why is that discounted?? OP, I think that you should have an honest talk with your friend about it. I think you are being insensitive to how she would have felt if she had a boy.

That we are having girls? I realize that in the ultrasound, a penis looks like a penis and when you see it, you don't question. But if you have a pretty clear girl potty shot, why is it so hard to believe that it really IS a girl? I'm having such a hard time actually accepting that she's a girl. I call her a girl, most of the time, but I do still catch myself calling her and IT or...

I was the same way, going into my ultrasound for my last 2 pregnancies. #2 turned out to be a boy for me. I was SOOOO sad. Not that he was a boy, but that he was NOT a girl. I got over it, for the most part, but always longed for a daughter. I had my scan for this pregnancy 2 weeks ago and it's a GIRL! So I will have 2 boys and a girl. I can't even wrap my head around it. lol I st...

About your gender disappointment? Would you talk to them about it when they are older? I never wanted boys. And now I have 2 of them. I wasn't too upset when I had ds1, cuz I knew I'd have one more chance. But when I found out about ds2, I was devastated. But after he was born, I was just so in love with him and he is kinda my favourite now. lol I do believe I will talk to h...

My tech knew within3 seconds of me saying I wanted to know. And he told me that he was 150% sure she is a girl. EEK! I'm still having a hard time believing it though. LOL!

That I'm having a girl. He looked many many times and was incredibly confident. I was 18 weeks 2days along when I had the ultrasound. Instead of just enjoying and celebrating, I keep reading stories of people who were told girl, but it ended up being a boy. Do you think it's possible that my girl will end up being a boy??

I only found out yesterday that I am getting my DG, but I like that there are people on here who have. It gave me hope and it made me feel less alone. Feeling sad about your baby's gender is NOT a comfortable feeling to have. :(

Thank you for the support guys!!My scan is at 11am. It's 7:30 am now. Yikes. I slept like shit last nite, of course. lol I allowed myself a bit of a fantasy world before I fell asleep last nite in where I got to tell my mom that I was going to have her first granddaughter. We have 7 grandsons in our family, this will be #8 if it's a boy. NO girls. And I'm the Last Pink Hope. LOL! Oh man...
