Why has my 11 week old suddenly forgotten how to latch on??

Hi ladies! I have not been on this forum for ages, and have missed you ladies. I have just been so busy like everyone else with a new baby!! Anyway, Maisie is breastfeeding away and gaining weight well. I have had various problems but have good support from a local group. I occasionally give her a bottle of formula in the evening, which I have done from about 3 weeks old. She does not like dummie...

Re: My poor spotty baby! Please help...

Thanks so much for all the advice girls! Maisie's rash has all but gone now, the health visitor said it was "hormonal" whatever that means!! I was prescribed stuff called Diprobase which worked wonders. Thanks again you are all wonderful! xox

Re: My poor spotty baby! Please help...

thanks for the advice. the doc gave me 50-50 liquid paraffin stuff but as it is so greasy I thought it would just irritate her skin more in this heat? surely I should make sure her pores are not blocked? the doc mentioned possible eczema but there is no evidence of it on the rest of her body and no family history...

Re: My poor spotty baby! Please help...

Here is a pic I just took with my phone - not sure if it will be clear enough. Basically the rash is all over her cheeks, forehead, chin and neck but not her nose for some reason.

Re: Desperate-8 hours of crying-colic-help!

my baby also suffers from colic and it has been great reading all these ideas. she is finally taking infacol now which seems to help a bit, and the gripe water just makes her puke, but at least she gets the wind up! she is breastfed, so I don't know where all this wind is coming from. I am seriously considering trying an osteopath!

My poor spotty baby! Please help...

Hi everyone, Well my beautiful Maisie has gone from having the softest, clearest skin in the world to being covered in raging red spots all over her little face and neck! The rest of her body is clear. This coincides with a heatwave in the UK, so I think it is either a heat/sweat rash or photosensitivity (although she must only have been exposed to the sun for a minute when the rash started 10 da...

Maisie Isobel is here!

Hi everyone! We are just back from hospital. Our beautiful daughter arrived at 10.09am on Thursday 14th May by c-section. We have decided to call her Maisie Isobel. She is feeding really well and is just such a sweetie. Our family is complete thanks to the wonderful ladies at In-Gender!! I have not downloaded my photos yet but here is one that my sister put on her facebook, more to follow! Mel...

Tomorrow (14th May) is the day for me!!

Hi all, So my planned C-Section is going ahead tomorrow, I am so nervous and excited!! The hospital is having a baby boom, typical as they are usually really quiet, so it might not be until the afternoon...but either way I get to meet my baby girl tomorrow! I will update you as soon as I can but I will be in for a few days with no internet access so it might be a while. Thanks so much for all y...

Re: Are we all ready?

I had her room totally ready at 30 weeks! But hey, who is really prepared for a newborn?!! I went to see a psychic the other night who said no matter how much I plan, this baby will come in her own time, and it will be very fast. She mentioned 8th or 9th May, and my section is planned for 14th, so I might get my VBAC after all, despite what the docs say!!

Re: Anyone else's baby still shifting position??

Hi Sher, I have been scheduled for a c-section because my previous 2 births ended up being emergency sections, and the docs said the scar would be weak and I would risk rupturing during labour, putting both mine and baby's lives at risk. However, I have heard of a number of people having vaginal births after one or two sections, so it is definitely possible. If I had argued for it, they would hav...

Anyone else's baby still shifting position??

Hi all, Hope you are all as well as can be expected!! Counting the days now til my section on 14th May!! Bub is still managing to shift herself right round, not sure how! She was transverse for ages, then I managed to get her to shift head down, which was MUCH more comfortable for both of us. Yesterday she managed to move to transverse again, so I was crippled by kicks in the cervix all day and c...

Re: low heart rate

Don't worry! I am a total stress-head when it comes to heart rates too, but anywhere between 120 and 170 is perfectly normal. The baby was probably asleep, and won't have too much room to move now so it is normal for the rate to go down. My bub has always had a baseline of 155, which can go up to 180 if she is really active. Now I am 36 weeks her baseline is around 140. HTH! xox
