Your u/s pic looks alot like mine. I posted last week (18 weeks 1 day) and the tech said GIRL for me too. Check out my post. Because I didn't find out in the office but opened the envelope at home, I have been stressing out that she made a mistake. It is not the typical girl shot I've seen on the internet, etc. When I called the office she seemed confident. Also...

nicholerh- thanks for taking a look. You mean "not one I would bet the farm on" as in just looking at this one picture, right? In your experience, the tech looks at the live footage (different angles?) to make their indication and not just a single picture. I'm kicking myself that I didn't find out in the office but it seemed like a good idea at the time lol!
We...

Thanks Coldwater for responding with great info. I apppericate your input and totally get that you can't offer a solid prediction from this picture. I keep telling myself that even though the picture isn't great, the tech saw live what was going on in the 45 minute appt and she had 12 years experience. I think you are right and that she would be extra careful especially ...

I'll check out the website. I go for my next dr. appt in about 2 weeks so I'm going to ask about having another u/s. I think with DS3 I was able to schedule a 3D/4D ultrasound in my 7th month. That was very special. Not just to confirm gender but to "see" your baby.
I'd still love to hear from some of the more experienced posters when they get a chance.

Mum2be#4 - you never know...I was so convinced this baby was a boy it's hard to sink in that it is a girl. I don't think I'll be satisfied until I see a 3D u/s and maybe not until I hold her. I totally understand about being torn. I was stressing myself out. I felt like I'd rather not know for awhile then to carry around gd and depression for another 22 weeks of pregnancy.&...

Thank you Southernbelle! I wondered if Charliecats was around much anymore. I was kind of thinking maybe it was a swollen labia or clitoris... I really wanted to get the tech on the phone and ask her directly but I guess they can't do that. There is actually a good post on this board with a link to a website but it doesn't show 2D pictures only 3D. I have been scanning...

Oh Good Luck to you! Did your tech say boy or girl when you had your ultrasound previously? I think the % for correct interpretation at 18 weeks is 90% so that's pretty good odds my u/s tech was right. Keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for responding so quickly. How exciting to see so many of us getting our dd after so many ds!
Bradybunch- what a funny story and you are right it sounds so much like mine.
What do you all think the flat protrusion is? I regret not finding out in the office so I could have asked then. Could it just be that is the way girls look in this stage of de...

Thank you everyone for being so supportive. It sounds like many of us are in the same situation. I feel like it's too good to be true.

I have 3 wonderful boys but find it so hard to believe we may finally be having our girl. I was so sure it was a boy that I didn't even want to find out during our 18 week u/s visit. We told the tech that we have 3 boys and I wasn't quite ready to find out today and could she write it down for us and put it in envelope. I told her it probably sounded crazy but she was so swe...

I cried reading your post because I feel exactly the same way. I'm trying to embrace being a boy mom but the void is still there. My youngest is 15 months old and I found out it was ds3 at his 20 week u/s so this incredible ache has been going on now for almost 2 years. I can't stand it and I'm sorry any of us have to go through this.
((hugs)) to you! Try and love on your ...

I'm there with you. My sister is expecting her 2nd dd - she had her 1st when I was pg with ds3. I'm choking on jealousy. I have to past a happy smile on my face now all through the holidays. The baby is due on Christmas but she'll probably have her early.
This gd is not easy and I feel like it posions everything in my life. Feel better that your thoughts/feelings ar...

I went when I was about 5 months pregnant and it wasn't too bad. We only had 1 child at the time and my sister came to help. It was early June though and the heat was pretty awful. I probaby wouldn't go that far along because it's not just one day there walking around but multiple days. I went to our local state fair (it's a really big deal) at 8 months pregnant and wa...

I don't think you're the only one. I still have gd but being so busy with work gives me less time to focus on it. By the time I am home in the afternoon with the boys, I want to spend time with them and enjoy them. Then we're busy with dinner, hw, bedtime and then it's time for me to relax, grade papers (I'm a teacher) or watch TV. Collapse into bed and the day starts all o...

I always wanted both genders. I think if I had only girls I would be sad b/c I was missing out on having a boy. I don't think I would be depressed, or constantly thinking about not having a son (like I constantly think about not having a dd since I found out DC3 was a boy) or even thinking about having a 4th child.
That's a great question; one that I was thinking about...

BrazilianMommy- I'm glad you were able to get your ds. I'm a BIG believer in God and prayer and I know that He has a lot to do with all of this but so many of us PRAY and PRAY for God to grant us our desire OR (as I have been doing too) PLEASE take away the desire for a dd altogether. Well I didn't get a dd and I still have gd so .... It's taken me over a year to be "ok" with God again...

I'm sorry your friend is being so insensitive. It sounds like you are probably her safe place to vent all these gd emotions. I totally understand where you're coming from "at least she has 1" b/c I have OFTEN thought that too. It doesn't really help though b/c It still hurts.
I wonder if you can come at this from a different angle - instead of telling her how insensitive sh...

I'm interested to see what most people reccomend. IF we ttc again it won't be until next summer but the timing thing has been my BIGGEST question too. Abstain? Frequent BD? O+12? I just don't know. I'm probably leaning toward abstain b/c I'm really concerned about BD on day 4 or 5 and getting pg then. I'm not positive but I think that happened with at leas...

These may stupid questions but ... when you say "4 BD times between 5 days prior to ovulation through the day after.." does this mean that they could have gotten pregnant 4 days or even 5 days prior ovulation? I thought I read that can sway for a boy.
Or do you think they were maybe BD 2x a day 2-3 days before ovulation? And all of that BD is to help lower sperm count, right? I
also...

I have heard of people on this board getting pg that far ahead of Oing. I remember specifically someone had a BOY too. Apparently a 2-3 cutoff increases your chances for a girl but a 1 day cut off, 4, 5, 6, etc day cutoff all increase for a boy. I think it has something to do with not being able to keep acidic that long. I'm sure someone can explain better than me.

Hi Ladies- I just posted something similar on the other board. I wish I would have read someof this first.
Allison - THANK YOU!!! You reminded me how important it is to not cave to the "pity parties" all the time.
NinaB - I really liked what you said about the mother/daughter bff thing. That is very wise.
I have a lot of wonderful female relationships - sisters and bes...
