I always like to reference smokeythemom's experience -- she registered with "miracleswaiting" for girl embryos and was contacted a couple times (she has since had her own daughter). That gives hope to those who wish to go this route [:)] http://www.in-gender.com/cs/forums/p/82904/783062.aspx#783062

I'm with tropicalbreeze and love the suburbs here [:)] Schools are exemplary in my area as well, and the district is always growing and looking for new teachers.

Each night, there is wine and cheese in the main living room of the Casa Laguna B&B. I took this picture from this room, just before we went to dinner.

Another picture - our room is up in that building, at the end. The suites are down and to the left, plus there is a big fancy suite above the pool which is behind us in the picture.

I stayed at Casa Laguna last spring and loved it =) Can't remember the price, but I had an ocean view and was up high in the old "artist studios." The larger suites are down lower off the courtyard and don't see the ocean as easily. Each morning begins with a gourmet breakfast in the courtyard.

Good luck with your decision [GLC] There are others on this board who have served as surrogates before -- there is "gestational" and "traditional" surrogate in her siggy, and it may be "airforcemom" (sorry, can't remember!). In my own thoughts, I always guessed that compensation would be more like $30K for a surrogate, plus having her medical bills covered. Definitely have a...

How often is it twins? [:-)] And Dr. Potter, are you seeing more women use the injectibles for IUI now? You recently said you had a good month for IUI conceptions due to injectible use.

Tiger - I have thought the same things, especially that it would just be easier to get on with my life, only to find I still think about that daughter who is missing! I just wanted to put in my [2C] that you can't donate embryos that have had MS (I asked the same question a while ago). It has to do with the fact that they are part of the study right now. Maybe in the future ...

I'm never in the swaying boards, but I wanted to add that you shouldn't TTC for the month after your flu shot. At least that's what the paperwork says. I had a flu shot last September, along with a dtap booster, and wasn't TTC, but had an oops. Miscarried in October. It could be unrelated, but I wouldn't want to take any chances. GL [GLC]

Great picture [:)] I remember reading that she was special needs and that's why their adoption went thorugh the system more quickly. I wonder if they will adopt again pretty soon, especially from Korea since it is not going to be open for long.

I vote for Casa Laguna -- wonderful and romantic [HH] The food is fantastic in the morning, and there's wine and cheese at night. We also had a couple's massage while we were there. It's an easy drive up the hill to HRC, and to surrounding beaches, restaurants, etc.

My MS/IUI (bfn) was done at 30 hrs. past trigger. I was doing OPKs, but did not get any positives. My trip was getting very long in CA and I couldn't change my travel a second time, so we triggered based on an US (3 follies, 22.8, 18, 12) instead of waiting for an OPK. If I lived near HRC, I would have waited for a positive...

Hi Nicole - I don't have any advice, but wanted to sympathize with you! I have tried high-tech once and could try more, but am also interested in adoption. My husband doesn't think we should adopt if we can have bio children naturally, though he was okay with MS/IUI (the procedure, not the success rates, LOL). We're both still uncomfortable with IVF, so that leaves swaying or adoption....
