Thats tough! My husband had to go to do a couple labs and semen analysis and when I had my retrieval he had to drive me home and the transfer, so prob count on like 4 appts with the hubbie. If you have to tell someone, you don't need to explain gender selection. That's what we told my husband's Sgt., was we were having trouble getting pregnant and we really wanted one more so we were doing IVF. He...

My sis lives in another state, but my mom lives 10 minutes away from me. She is a teacher so she was off all summer so she was free to babysit for my appointments if my husband was required to join me. He is a police officer, so he doesn't have a regular mon-fri job. He only ended up needing 1-2 days off. His Sgt. Somewhat knew but not in full detail, so he was supportive. I didn't feel like I had...

Hi ladies! I've been MIA lately, sorry! Things are great! My last beta was more than doubled and I go in for my heart beat ultra sound mon the 27th! Counting down....that's a biggie!!!! So excited! No, we didn't tell anyone we chose to do HT, except my mom and sister. At first I felt bad "acting" in front of my friends and family. But I got over it. I don't see any reason anyone needs to ...

Yay! Congrats WishingforXY!!!! That's so awesome! I am feeling pregnant for sure. It's my 4th, so my body is just showing symptoms a lot sooner I think. All of my HPT have been positive!!! I went in this morning for my first beta and am supposed to hear results this afternoon! I too am anxious about hearing the heartbeat. A friend of mine just went through her 5th attempt at HT and had her 2nd mis...

Thank you, thank you!!! I know what you mean about rarely hearing the good news on this site. Hope all continues to go well. I don't think I'll be able to get completely excited till we hear that heartbeat! Good luck to you too! When is your transfer?

Got a faint positive this morning with the first response early detection test. It tests 6 days sooner instead of the 5 days sooner ones. Yay! It's looking good, just want that line to darken up! Haha, so impatient, I know!!

I snuck in a test this morning and it was BFN. I knew better. It's way too early! I'm still hopeful. I'm feeling very pregnant!

We'll see if I hold out till Tues! Maybe if my symptoms continue to get stronger, I'll give in and take it Monday. Do ladies on this board generally take the test 5dpt and see positives? I saw Dr. Potter's stats mention his success rate for implantation of a hatching blastocyst was 90%! I'm hanging onto that right now, as mine was in the hatching stage at the time of transfer.

Ya, I'd rather wait a couple more days. Getting a false negative would be harder than waiting a few more days to take it.

How's everyone feeling? I'm on my last day of bed rest and am so anxious to get up and be with my family again! Laying here also is making me crazy! Analyzing every cramp or tinge I feel! Can't wait to take a HPT! I think I'm going to do an early response test on tues. (8dp5dt)

Lori just responded and said that would be too early :( Looks like I'll have to wait. Hey, so this might be a dumb question but do you know what would be the reason for a BFN? It just doesn't attach?

So fun that we are all in this together at the same time ;) anyone get any feed back from their Dr. As to a reason this won't work? I asked Dr. Potter what the chances of miscarriage are at this point and he said since we did GSN there is only a 10% chance. He said the main reason women miscarry is because of a chromosomal defect and we bypassed that step with the GSN. Out of my 5 embryos, I had ...

So we had 2 come back normal. 1 boy and 1 girl!!!! Whew!!!!! We were so relieved and excites, obviously! The transfer went great and now I'm on bed rest! Hopeful that she sticks! I feel so lucky and blessed. On the PGD report she was the strongest of all 5....I believe that's a good sign! ;)

Thank you for responding! I am a nervous wreck! We go in tomorrow morning to see what the outcome is!!! We only need one, right? And then what if there are two girls that aren't grade A's but are normal. Do we put 2 back? Advice?

I am in the middle of the thick of it all and have decided this is the worst form of torture there is! I am cycling with Dr. Potter. I am 30 with 3 boys that I conceived very easily and have never had a miscarriage, thankfully! We are trying for a girl. I just had my egg retrieval on Wed. and got a call from Dr. Potter on Thursday saying that of the 8 eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized. I am due b...

Ok. Good to know. He isn't allowed to ejaculate for 3 days before they take his sample so we don't have too much control over that part. He has been taking a men's fertility prescription to increase his sperm count and motility. Looks like we are doing all we can at this point. ;)

I am cycling in July doing IVF/PGD and have heard that what the husband eats can effect his sperm sample. Is this true and what is the diet? we are trying for a girl? Anyone? Please?

Thanks so much, that makes me feel way better. I don't know why I was expecting a lot less. Who is your doctor? Are you trying for a boy or girl? I'm trying for a girl with Dr Potter and this is all so new and scary!!! I start my meds on the 4th of July. What about you?

Hi! I am cycling with Dr. P in July for IVF/PGD. I was just ordering my meds for one cycle and the pharmacy, Freedom, quoted me $2,640. I was expecting much less than that for one cycle but Lori, Dr. P's assistant told me that I'm actually on a low dose and that is a decent price. I'd like to know if anyone else can tell me what they paid for one cycle. Thank you!!!

Quick question for you ladies...I am planning on going to Mexico in October of next year to also do the MS/IVF/PGD. I know it's a ways away, but just planning ahead... I have Kaiser insurance. Should I check if they'll do any of the monitoring there or do I need to go to a fertility clinic? And how far out should I get off birth control and get serious about contacting Dr. Luna? I was thinking ...
