At only 30... wait... how the hell old am I anyways? 32? 33? Something like that.
Anyways, I finally convinced my OB to allow me a hysterectomy, fully covered by insurance. Normally here in Germany, where the birth rate is quite low, young, healthy, fertile women are not allowed to have this done, even if they pay for it out of pocket. My OB sees the emotional toll motherhood has taken on me ov...

Couldn't resist... one more. Wes trying on a fur vest with our friend Laura at an H&M in Berlin. (Can you believe Laura is over 50??? Girl's got some serious good genetics.)

I'm not on here often, but can't resist to check in on the August brethren! Here's another slew of photos, from our Oktober trip to Berlin.
Rainbow reflection from a passing train on the Berliner Ringbahn.
Wes is... huge... so the pediatrician says at any rate. He's 3'4" tall, but only weighs 28#. He's often mistaken for a 4 year old. There's the whole double your two year old's height to ge...

Here's a photo of Wes snuggling Julius the other day. It's really hard to get decent photos of them together, as Miss J usually tries to slide away, and Wes buries himself face first in her fat coils. But luck was on my side that morning!
Also, I made this:

A couple days shy of 15 months and here we have Wes exhibiting early signs of petty larceny by stealing the neighbor's work shoes that he left outside his door.

He also follows some pretty complex strings of commands (take this juice bottle and put it in the fridge, go in the bathroom and get your duck). Adding an extra layer of "ooh imp...

The test is utter garbage. It's no more accurate than spitting on a dead fly and seeing which part of the wall it sticks to when you throw it. Sorry you wasted your money. Now chin up, and here's hoping you hear what you want at your ultrasound! :)

Herzlichen dank, everyone! :) There is a second set in the same vein, but mostly white, that I finally finished. Soon as I get around to putting it on the bed (its been dreadfully hot lately, and this bedding is pretty warm, so that may not happen for a while) I will post photos!

Here we are - Wes' first birthday! He still can't talk, but tried to imitate our saying "happy birthday" with "YIGGY GIGGY!". Close enough. lol He got 12 pounds of medium grain gravel for his birthday. He's not really interested in toys, but digging and stones are the bees knees, so...
He can walk very well, run, climb and descend stairs, all that great stuff that means I can't sit down for a s...

I took Naratriptan HCl it's OTC here as "Formigrane", not sure about in the US. It works like a charm though - if taken at onset. It's class C I believe, so make what you will of that. Our little guy came out just fine.

You know, I totally considered a knife mobile, too. Not for long, mind, and DH wanted no part of it, but I certainly did. Instead, we decorated his room with bones, creepy art done by friends & bits of metal from a scrapyard. Well out of reach, naturally.
Here's a shot of a monster made of random bones found on hikes by our friend in CA.

Thank you! We're constantly impressed by the stuff he accomplishes. Not just in the proud parent way, cos well, yeah, we have that. But more int he "Um... did he just... seriously? You didn't help him get up there?" kinda way. He cam climb up onto the sofa, and jump into the pillows. He RUNS. He figured out how to open the latched door to the aquarium cabinet, turn on the flashlight and scare ...
