Of course! Technically, I got 2 BFP's at 38, though the first (2nd cycle) was a chemical pregnancy. I cycled again right away (after I got my period), and got another BFP......and delivered my DD at 39.

My nearly 5 month old is perfectly healthy as well. No health issues WHATSOEVER. Eating like a champ and in the 75 - 90% for growth!

I started at age 37 with my 1st cycle which was: BCP>Lupron>Gonal F & Menopur. And I used the exact same protocol (varying amounts) with the following 2 cycles.
HTH!

After my chemical, I waited til I got my period, then started BCP (cycle) with the 2nd period. So my chemical was end of March/early April then had my ER July 5th.

I just saw this post and wanted to add that I, too, was an older cycler, but with the MS before the trial closed. I had 3 healthy boys, no history at all of infertility problems, and went through all the pre-tests starting at age 37 with good results. (Same with DH.)
Cycle #1: Transferred 3 - BFN;
Cycle #2: Transferred 2 - chemical pregnancy;
Cycle #3: Transferred 2 - BFP! I gave birth to my ...

Aww....very well said, gsbabies! I feel the same way about my IVF/MS/PGD DD....in awe, blessed, and deliriously happy. Thank you for your heartfelt & inspirational post! :-)

Wow...that is great! I'm thinking your biggest "issue" next is going to be deciding how many girls to transfer! A good problem to have! [:)]

Exactly what I did. Same time each night...the shot itself wasn't bad, but the muscles in my rear were sore after a while doing those shots.

We decided twins was way better than a BFN starting with cycle #1 (where we transferred 3 - LOL!). We never expected 3 and our RE said we had a low % chance of even 1. For each cycle, I kept hearing "Only put back the number you can handle" so for cycles 2 & 3, we put back 2....and ended up with a singleton, which is really what we wanted. HTH!

I doubt it. Since you were approved for MS and you already have 3 healthy boys (assuming no fertility problems), he probably just wanted to make sure you weren't there for GS. Re: red flags: Your health insurance company won't ever be billed for Microsort or PGD since that is considered elective, but if you do have a diagnosis of infertility, IVF (depending on your insurance) should be cov...

I definitely agree with PPs; the emotional rollercoaster was harder than the shots, monitoring, or procedures. And I cycled 3 times. FWIW, and I certainly don't want to start an argument here, but knowing for sure it was a girl (PGD) was worth the time, effort, and $ for the guarantee.....vs. the cheaper, non-guarantee of swaying.
