Sammy is here

Well Sammy decided not to wait. We had a maternity photo session at 3:30 to 4:30 pm on Oct 28th, came home, had dinner. At 7 I went to change sheets in my daughters room when my water broke. It was a crazy gush of fluid, so no mistake there. We went to the hospital, I got admitted. My contractions were getting really strong. We decided not to wait and see and agreed to have a c-section. at 9:30...

Re: Progress Update- for all Nov due babies!

Well, you gotta be excited about something:-) I know it's just things, but they are important. Like, I splurged and bought a Didymos wrap sling. I can't wait to wear Sammy in it. I had a t-shirt fabric wrap with my DD, and she lived in it for 4 months. This time around I decided to splurge and got a nice thing. We were at a baby show and I couldn't resist. The girl gave me 20% off. Most of Sammy's...

Re: Progress Update- for all Nov due babies!

Eight days to go:-( Getting impatient by the day. What is wrong with me!!! It's just eight days! I'm glad you girls are doing things to get ready. I am running around like a mad woman, trying to finish up chores. Which wraps did you buy? I bought Aiden and anais, and I was also give their dream blanket. Can't wait to wrap him up in those either.

Re: Progress Update- for all Nov due babies!

Well, 10 days left for me until Sammy's scheduled arrival, unless he decides to come out earlier. I decided that if I do go into labour naturally I will try for a VBAC. I know that the doc on call will not be happy, oh well. It is easier for them to cut me open, but, if things are progressing well I don't see why I can't have a chance. In some ways I really hope I go into labour before Nov 2nd, ev...

Re: Levels of readiness

Yeah, I'm not a Disneyland kind of person. Most nursery bedding with child designs doesn't attract me. And this is where the problem lies. It is extremely hard to do a baby room with my mind set. I am debating on the Little Prince (Le petit Prince) theme. It's something the child can grow into. the problem is, it's bloody expensive. there is an official store in France, and shipping will be rea...

Re: November 2011 - Belly Pictures

Fringe:-) When I first came to North America and used that word people would give me a surprised look. They call it bangs:-) I went all natural now. I have actually completely changed my looks. I used to have long hair. Now I have really short hair in my own colour. I used to dye it lighter too. This is me at I think 33 weeks. I am awful at taking pics. forget to do it all the time. [...

Re: Levels of readiness

Thanks for the ideas, tickle. This is really helpful. Monday is Thanksgiving, I'll start worrying about everything after it. We are having company over, so I have other things to do (clean the house, cook, etc). I haven't washed anything yet. So, basically I have to wash and organize all his clothes and buy the necessities. Also will need to put his bassinet together. It needs to be washed as...

Re: Levels of readiness

Same as you, further along I have ever been, 7 weeks more. I wake up and want to pinch myself everyday. Sammy will be in our room the first few month as well, sleeping in a bassinet. We originally wanted to not rearrange rooms till the spring. But, our girl really wanted to move to a bigger room in the attic. I am glad we did it. Although it doesn't make the baby room any more ready, at least ...

Levels of readiness

Yesterday while putting Sammy's crib together it finally dawned on me. Holy c..p, we have less than 4 weeks left and I am not particularly ready. We have moved our girl into her new room (took us a long time to do it), finally she is all moved (including clothes). Just need to hang curtain rods and curtains. Sammy's room is empty, just has furniture (crib, dresser, changing table) with noth...

Re: Ramzi method

Oh', haven't actually posted here in a while. Although the baby is not not here yet, we know it is 100% a boy. Considering my history we had quite a few u/s. I was told "boy" at 19 weeks, then tech would just confirm every time, but not concentrate on the area. At the last u/s at 34 weeks my hubby came with me (he hasn't seen the baby since 12 weeks) and tech went into great detail in that area. V...

Re: WHOLY CRAP, some of us will be cuddling our babies within a month!

Thank you so much for this post! I have never been this far in pregnancy, so it's all new to me, especially your description of pre-labour. Well, yes, I have now less than a month to go for sure. My scheduled c-section is actually 4 weeks from tomorrow. But, after reading what I read from you, I think I am having pre-labour too. I have all of your symptoms: several incidents of something c...

Re: 31 weeks today :D

No, I'm having c-section because my emergency one last year would only put me 15 months away from it. My doc thinks it's too risky, in terms of rupture, etc. especially if the baby is larger than average (me being very petite). But she did tell me that most ruptures happen while in labour, not while pushing, so if my labour starts before I get there and I'm really advanced (like 7 cm and over) a...

Re: 31 weeks today :D

I wish I had home birth. Oh, well. My c-section is November 2nd, just a tiny month left. we are not ready in a sense that we have a baby room and things set up. everything is still in boxes and bags. I don't have a hospital bag ready. the only thing I have done is washed some of his clothes. I was told that if I go into labour before the section they will check me out and see if they would ...

Re: BLAH... 6 weeks to go... Diarhoea for 10 days now. WTH?

Hello tickle, I'm in the same boat. this pregnancy I have soft stool all the time. It can be because I'm on magnesium supplement, but there are days when I am and days when I'm not. Sorry for TMI, this morning I barely made in to the washroom. How are you doing otherwise? I'm 4 and a half weeks away from my c-section. Can't believe it.

Re: 31 weeks today :D

Thanks a lot, tickleme, it's a lot of info. My mom had THR because of osteoarthritis, and she will have another one (this time left hip) in December. It was a fairly uncomplicated surgery and she came out of it quite well. She is 63, and her situation was really bad. She couldn't wait anymore. We do have services and I'm planning to call and get her assessed. The problem with the hos...

Re: 31 weeks today :D

Thanks, tickleme. I can't imagine working right now. I stay pretty active, but there is no way in the world I would be able to chase 20 Grade 1 students 6 hours a day. I do a lot, but I need frequent breaks. I am 4 weeks more pregnant today than I have ever been in my life. I feel very blessed and excited, although it is becoming harder to carry the tummy around. I have a hard time rolling i...

Re: 31 weeks today :D

Congrats girl on 31 weeks! I'm here as well today, sounds almost hard to believe. Sorry I was out of circulation for a while. We were away most of August and as September rolled in there was a lot going on. Ariel started school and my mom had hip replacement last Thursday. She will be discharged today and that will keep my hands full for a while. As far as baby goes, things are good. I am ...

Re: BOY MUMS/DADS- DUE IN NOVEMBER

I love biblical names myself. Hence, Samuel. My daughter is Ariel, called not after the mermaid, like many people think, but because it's in the Bible :-) My FIL is John, and we wouldn't mind it as a middle name, but not the first. Matthew used to be all the rage, but not any longer. I don't really know any Matthews under the age of 10. It's fun to actually find a rare but beautiful name from...

Re: BOY MUMS/DADS- DUE IN NOVEMBER

Thanks Tickle. Nice to see you are in the Christmas mood already. I got Sammy Christmas PJs too. yesterday was worse, it was the day when he passed away. My hubby was at work, and I just wanted to be alone. a whole bunch of girlfriends called and tried to get me out of the house. Anyhow, it's over, and it feels better. Like a new door has opened. one problem - I got a really nasty cold. ...

Re: BOY MUMS/DADS- DUE IN NOVEMBER

Love the name. I know two Brocks and they are wonderful guys! One is a student at our school and one is a obstetrical resident I know. She is a wonderful person. Well, have some good news on a fairly sad day. Nicky would have been a year today. I lost it at the doctor's office, feel terrible about it, but really couldn't help it. So, had my appointment and a bi-weekly cervical length check....
